7800X3D - MORE 67mm Coolers from Thermalright and ID Cooling with the Terra!

Ғылым және технология

We'll test the Thermalright AXP120-X67 and the ID Cooling IS-67-XT with AMD's 7800X3D. These two 67mm coolers will be great for the 7800X3D and are also good coolers to consider for your next sandwich style gaming build.

    Great to see the 67mm coolers review - especially the new IS-67-XT which I'm considering to purchase. Your videos are always very informative and helpful. I would love it if open bench tests are also provided. It would provide a good evaluation of the maximum cooler capabilities and also allow for comparisons with other open bench cooler data widely available.

    Thanks to your videos of the NR200P case, I switched from a Dan A4-H20 case to the NR200P. My 4090 GPU temps dropped from 80c to 63c. GPU is mounted at the bottom, with glass side panel, and to get the temps this low I installed Phantek T30 fans at the top, plus I taped over all the vent holes on the other side panel, back and top of the case to maximize air flow from bottom to top.

  • @MadelnOahu

    @MadelnOahu

    When done right, the nr200p with the glass panels works amazing! Using the axp120-x67 with a 25mm fan and set the top fans to gpu temp. I blocked off the vent holes left side of motherboard so that the only entry for air is throught the bottom vent. It works amazingly well and my gpu fans dont even spin, i suppose its because since ive blocked off all entry ways for air that the only way is through the heatsink of the gpu that it cools it off well before the gpu gets up to temp.

    @@MadelnOahuWell done! Yes, with the side vent holes closed off the airflow from bottom to top evacuates the heat efficiently. I don't understand why more case manufacturers can't get this simple principle right!

    For anyone coming here to settle the decision, I have experience with both of these coolers. I have a terra/is67/12600k and a terra/axp120-67/12400f. The 12400f is quieter, but I think it's because I switched the fan to an nfa12x15, and the chip just stays cooler because of the power requirements. The 12600k is on a z690-i strix and the 12400f is on a b760-i strix. I'm going to get rid of one of the green terras, and get a black one. The black one will have the b760-i/12400f/and will probably try to get a nfa12x25 on there, since there is still a fair bit of room left over. They're both great coolers, like M&M showed. I think the build quality is better on the ID cooling one. The packaging, unboxing, and mounting hardware all just feels more premium on the ID cooling, however, the thermalright does keep those thermals right! Just get whichever one is cheaper, or get the ID cooling if you want a black one w/o RGB.

I would be grateful if you could let me know how NH-L12S is comparing with these (specially noise level placing the fan undearneath the sinsk). Kind regards, E

    I’m looking at the same setup. Just from research, I think the L12A has even better cooling performance, and lower noise due to the fan being under the heatsink, not next to the side panels for example. Plus Noctua fans tend to be the quietest. But in the Terra if you need that extra 3mm or so on the GPU side, I’d go ID 67
