Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone starts somewhere. You get better by failing and experience. Especially knowing what works and what doesn't. The reality of this game is that sometimes you will just be outclassed by a bigger crew. Unless they are not organized, then you may have a chance.

You gotta love all the comments taking about how Mason is actually doing PVE. It's such a rare sight that people can't help but be excited. 😂

Around 2020 we had a three ship alliance doing repeat FOTD and even left one person on the ships to keep watch. It was dark and a another ship sailed past in the distance without incident and kept going. About 20 minutes later when organizing loot, we noticed the Athena chest, and the rowboat were both gone. It then dawned on us that someone swam over from that ship, stole the Athena and escaped with it on our own row boat. I have just recently discovered this channel and I wonder if it was Mason because it seems like a total Mason thing to do. It was slick, that's for sure.

The only thing that makes it not extremely easy is the PVP that comes with it, whether you are doing Athena emissaries Or Fort of the Damned chances are you're being hunted or tucked on, and will have to fight before you get to turn in. Some people say they are able to complete them and turn in unchallenged but I haven't seen it happen

Ganondalf literally every Athena voyage I’ve done I’ve turned in, unchallenged. I take that back, I was tucked on once... but that ended badly for him. You don’t tuck on a ship in devil’s roar and expect to use your enemy’s ship to turn in loot.

I've had a very hard time with this game. I can't find consistent players to play with so I am usually solo slooping. I'm not very good, and I have never reached pirate legend in the year that I've owned the game. My top trading company level is 24, followed by 22 and merchants is only 14. I keep getting killed, boarded, stowaway, ganged and everything in between. I tried just doing one voyage at a time, which takes forever, and I'm still only successful about 25% of the time. The flags mean nothing, you still get attacked by everyone no matter what flag you're flying. I try being friendly, I try ignoring people, I try attacking everyone I see and nothing seems to work. I'm ready to give up on this game, which is a shame because other than that I have fun playing it.

Honestly dude, try fort and ashen wind next on an OOS em at level 5. Or reaper 5, either way, doing one after the other, just those two, can get a 300k+, add on top of that more forts and ashen wind, lucrative.
