Anyone who lives with the Morgan Ladies knows beauty. I'd guess a meal must be very good to be noticed in such fine company. Pleasant family meals are a true blessing. That unstable center of a log is called the "pith", according to the Out of the Woods channel sawyer. God bless and protect you all, friends.

Wow, the shed looks beautiful. We use stainless steel soda kegs, modify them into sprayers and use compressed air from an air tank. We put up to 80 psi in them to spray the heavier stains. Again, the shed is looking awesome. Thumbs up !!

I have to agree with you Mike about how nice cherry wood is. A few years ago I refurbished a restaurant and we used cherry for the seating and the tables finished in satin lacquer. All the cladding around the bar area again was cherry. When the restaurant reopened and the food critics printed their reviews they all asked what the wood was. Say Hi to Hunter for me. Willie

I heat my home 90% with firewood. (I have a heating oil furnace for backup). Mike, you split your wood into the best size for us older folks. Sometimes when I have to buy wood, I get chunks so large that they barely fit in the load door (it's an old farmhouse wood furnace with an end load). Wow that cherry really has a nice look to it. Ru thinks that wet board looks lickable LOL

Mike. You guys are the best. Listen I had a high end body shop for 20 years so refinishing comes as second nature. I wanted to say the stain you picked is great. Love the color and the transparency letting the grain show through. One thing that is important is that on the header you have partially done, you want to finish that with a brush because you can accurately work up to your already covered line. If you go over that line it will be like adding a second coat which will show. If you try to use the sprayer the Graco it will be difficult to create that fine of an edge. That header is your show board. Smart choice on getting the Graco. It will make that job doing all of the rafters etc. turn into short order. Good investment. So when are you planning on building the huge barn the way the amish do with post and beam timber frame? You know get You're a man after my own heart. I have an elaborate woodworking shop. Strive for perfection, settle for excellence.

I think you meant cherry is the SECOND best thing to come out of Pennsylvania. The Best thing, of course, are the ladies of your family :D Cherry is my favorite wood. What you are missing with regard to the woodworkers is that many make SMALL things, not tables. Lots of good stuff can be made from a piece the size of what you split to burn. Probably don't need to stain the rafters and purlins, they will never see any weather.

We call foil dinners Campfire Packs, and have them all the time. My wife continuously gets messages from people asking how to make them. It seems pretty self-evident if you’ve ever had one, but then again, if people could make a simple cup of coffee there would be no Starbucks. Having said that, you’ve missed a huge business opportunity, Melissa. You could have been making and selling foil dinners by the hundreds and selling them for the last 8 weeks as Quarintine Packs. Curbside pickup. Probably could have bankrolled a pool or something. But, I digress.....lol.

MIKE, I would like to rank 'The Declaration of Independence' and George Washington cutting cherry trees as the best things to come out of Pennsylvania too!

Good stuff fella. Thank you for sharing the process. Nice piece of cherry. Lightly timber bound, but beautiful.

The cherry is nice wood but I think you missed a great opportunity to say that Melissa is the best thing that came out of PA. Stay Safe.
