In this video, I take on another dead PS5 that does not beep or show any signs of life.

just a question Im still self teaching myself alot about electronics repair. in this case when testing why did you put the red probe on ground instead of the black one? usually its reversed but im sure you had a reason for it. as always great fix love the videos i learn alot from you.

That would be testing in diode mode to test for diode junctions
@ToltecMerc
Жыл бұрын
You can use diode mode however you like but having the positive probe on ground tends to give a reading more often than having the negative probe on ground. This is simply because of the way ICs are manufactured. If you use black probe on ground, quite often you just get OL reading. If you see diode readings listed online somewhere, the readings will normally be taken with red probe on ground.

I had bought a new 400DR to replace one that was giving no power. I installed the new 400DR into my system and plugged in cables to test but it still didn't turn on although I can feel my system was slightly hot to to touch. Any Tip? is the new PSU defective? is it the motherboard?
@ToltecMerc

There could certainly be a problem on the main board. You would need to confirm that your supply is supplying 12V out. If it is outputting 12V, everything else happens on the mainboard.
