Billy that is really awesome. I have some belts mushrooms and some regular mushrooms but I’ve never seen them morph like that. 👍

I have 3 that are doing the same thing. They are very old. Im glad to see someone else has this. I thought something may have been wrong with mine lol although they look happy and they are huge!

I think it has something to with light possibly. I thought maybe it was some type of trace element but if your not dosing any then that can't be it. Great video buddy keep them coming 👍

Mine are doing the same thing right now but it’s only happening In my frag tank. Really interesting stuff . I made some changes in my tank and it started happening about a week or two after. My jawbreakers do it as well.

If I’m not mistaken the reef brite actinic does in fact hit the UV spectrum of 395-400 so yes it could still be the UV portion of blue actinic that makes them bounce. (I think)

To my understanding it's the uv or blue LED lights. I have a nuclear sunset mushroom that got bounce stripes but little bubbles like this

Yup, I recently took my actinic bulbs off and 3 weeks later the bubbles went away

Very interesting hope you figure it out let us no the secret to get them to bounce.

The reason why the have the bounces is due to overexposure to the light or the light is brightest on them. It’s not a bad thing but it’s not the because the species but it naturally occurs when exposed to light. I personally love the look of them.

Im facing the same thing but im running whites at less than 10% with blue and royal blue at 90% and uv at 7% that creating bounce even on fungia plate corals

Hmm, we might be on to something 🤔

The out side petals of my rhodactis mushroom swell up super fat in my tank and looks really, really bouncy. That said, I paid some of them forward to another hobbyists and they have deflated back to normal size. I am not certain as to why this has happened. Maybe lighting?

I've heard they can deflate in another tank, so strange

We had one and it did not grow. I just dose Red Sea Foundation and water changes. All the other coral are growing great.

Yeah my mushrooms grow a little slower than most my other coral

I’m not sure if you’ve already solved it, but I have seen many articles recently about them being due to the blue light intensity. Makes your shrooms triple in value. Do you have any frags of these?

Mag is usually 1450. Sandbed is about 90-100 par

That's crazy!!! They take a regular mushroom and then they get these bumps on them then they charge out the wazoo for them. Lol

Yeah I have no clue why they bounce but I've always been told it's some type of defect

Rhodactis will bounce in intense blue light

I hear you can nik them with a razor blade to create bounce as heal spots. Or maybe it's a reaction to some other creature or chemical. All and all if u can transform them in yr tank bro. Make a bunch and make some money. Billy pipes bounce mushroom

Probably the Iodine When I was dosing mine my ONLY 2 Rhodactis immediately started BUBBLING I was like, In shook But everything melted in a crash, jee it was bad (that’s not not the Iodine that did it, I was real bad with husbandry cause of school ((( )
