@@omm6219 There are different well validated tools from breath control (kriya) to mantra meditaiton to trannscend 5 senses and ahamkara with intense focus (dharana). Some tools are lightning fast to achieve prathyahara (transcende 5 senses) like Sanskrit mantras and kriya. Some tools like Vipassana takes a little bit more time.

In fact, all mental oppposites (eg love/hate, pride/shame, happy/sad, emptiness/meaningfulness etc) originate from false identification with thougths and body due to the sutble body ahamkara (which provides a false sense of "I"). Point is you neither have to lower yourself nor think high of yourself. Then only mind and body will be in perfect sync with the attributes (impassive experiencer and not the doer) of the true conscious and omnipresent self (athma)

It doesn't matter. He simply transcended his 5 senses using breath control (kriya). So, even if the temperature goes down to - 1000 degrees, there will be no "touch" sense even though body will go through wear and tear from frost bites.
