Today we sawed some more pine on the Woodmizer that will be used for siding on the woodshed. This Red pine is working out like a dream.

Thanks for the upbeat attitude you have been displaying about the current problems WE ARE ALL FACING! You are absolutly correct about this "panic' coming to an end SOON. Thanks for you and your family showing all of us how we can be concerned - yet confident, aware - yet not overcome, and we can go through part of your day watching ya'll do things that bring comfort and enjoyment to us and to you. Ya'll brighten my day!
It is so nice for you to be able to mill more lumber when you need it!!👍👊
And Melissa shows up and just jumps right in to help...what a Team you both are. Congrats.
Mike, you mention your work in the oil and gas industry. I thought I would tell you a little about my family. They're from the southwest PA and north WV area. They worked in the NG industry for most of their lives. They helped with the pipelines to move NG from the south into the PA and up into NY. They help build a pumping station in the little town ob Brave PA. I just wanted to think you for all the efforts to bring us good content and take our minds off the calamity that is striking our nation and many around the world. We need good content that isn't meant to sell fear and doom. Thanks again and God Bless.
Another morning coffee and Outdoors with the Morgans
Mike...you're right ..."everything happens for a reason"...I like your work ethic and more importantly, your optimism...
I'm so happy for Hunter he's got the best parents
Mike, Nice diversion from all the bad news here in eastern PA on the Delaware ... glad the weather broke to clear skies ... I've been doing spring clean ups, tuning my outdoor equipment ... new chains on my saws .... sending prayers to all the Morgans and Pups ... all new territory for this country, but I'm confident our collective faith will bring us through rough times ... D-sheds looking great and will preserve all your hard work ... and can't wait till we see a new Pup getting underfoot to keep you guys busy
You guys are just great! The news just gets sad to watch, but not you all, you’re a joy to get into and THANK YOU! One more thing, your music is fantastic. I have to start writing down your music for downloading!
Appreciate your comments about our hanging together and riding this out, Mike. Want to share an example of great Americans and selfless acts. We have in our little valley (Roaring Fork Valley, CO) a local distillery that makes wonderful spirits, including world class vodka, rye, bourbon and gin. Potatoes and other ingredients are sourced, locally, from farmers in the valley. The staff are family people who live in the small towns, and are committed to valley principles of community -- not just profit. Glenwood Springs to Aspen -- hot springs to Continental Divide past town -- is a span of about 50 miles. As with most of America, we can't find hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, or other hygiene-related aids, anywhere, from Grand Junction to Denver. A few "bad apples" are hawking these essentials on Ebay for ridiculous prices, and people at risk can't afford/find them. The owners and management of Wood Creek Distillery has decided to produce and bottle hand sanitizer (80% Ethanol, 18% Water, 2% Glycerol) and give it away to locals free of charge. The formula is published by the World Health Organization. The product is actually potable (160 proof!) but shouldn't be consumed, recreationally. :) Comes in gorgeous glass bottles 14" tall. Wish I could include pictures. Anyway, they're probably losing $5 per bottle pushed out the door, but they're responding to a need, selflessly. This is what America is all about -- not the very few price-gougers and opportunists. Thanks for all you and Melissa do, Mike. Hugs to Eva, Hannah, Hunter and crew.

Take Care , stay safe !!! Great tunes , glad Hunter got his BK . Sorry that this is hard for him and hence you guys . Let us all hope is it over sooner than later . Hello To Hunter !!!
Well spoken, we will come out of this stronger than ever. Our president is doing his part too & staying positive throughout this. Day ( 9 ) for this Vermonter on " Self Isolation "... My daughter del. groceries to my door day B4 yesterday, she insisted! I learned a long time ago NOT to argue with her, LOL! The bldg. is looking very nice & I'm playing with my brand new Bosch router in the workshop... Bill on the Hill, Vermont, USA... :~)
Mike, I completely agree, WE will be stronger when we get past this mess, and when we do, it will be a Celebration Time of sorts!!! time to go out & support local businesses, rebuild relationships, Thanks for you positive outlook.
Went back and started to watch from video #1. It’s fun to see the firsts, first time Mike speaks on camera, first time Mike says “ Mike here “ , first time for the theme music... Seeing the initial intro and the “Camp Morgan” map ,all fun. I look forward to the new videos each day, keep up the good work and stay safe.
I enjoy your show so much with My first cup of coffee that I pour My another with a sweet snack and replay just in case that I missed something!
Really like watching your videos and learning from y’all. Keep up the good work and keep sharing your American dream with us!
Another great episode, thank you. So good to see you guy staying positive during these challenging times. Sharing your calmness and seeing your experiences is very good medicine. Thanks for keeping so many of us positive and entertained. Your drive and creativeness are always inspiring. Stay healthy & happy!
Hi Mike and Melissa from Thunder Bay Ontario Canada, love your video keep them coming
You’re amassing quite a pile of flitches there Mike. They make good firewood.
Keep up the good work. Hang in there everyone 👍.
The Wood Shed is Shaping Up. 👍
I do like a lot your music selection. Is very relaxing
It definitely is nice getting outside and working in Nature. Some people don't realize how relaxing work is when you can do it at your own pace and it is something you love to do. Great video, Mike and Melissa. If we all treat each other with kindness and patience we will get through is period a much stronger country.
Well, you have a good clean saw blade! Have a day and stay safe.
Great positive words, Mike. Yes we will be stronger after this is all behind us. Our best yo you and your family in the state I grew up in - PA
When you build your sawmill shed a good idea would be to set up a chain fall or winch above the mill hanging from a beam to help you roll the logs without having to get on the tractor every time to do it for you.
shed is coming along nicely
Hello to all the Morgans. There is an old saying here in Wyoming " The weather won't kill you but not being prepared and panic will. " Kinda like whats happening now. Maybe this is God's way of saying I'm Still the BOSS. Another great video of normal everyday life. THANK YOU and carry on.
Nothing better than coffee with Mike and Melissa. God bless.
Nice job on the mill, I'll say it again, I love to watch it work. Stay safe and have a great day.

I love your show and I can't wait for the next feed. Mike and Melissa Morgan 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love watching you mill logs, reminds me of when I was a kid and watching my grandfather turn huge logs into beautiful lumber for his customers. Also, thanks for your pep talk this morning about the world situation. We are survivors and we will survive this and will be better because of it - you may not see that now, but you will after it's over with. Also, I bet you have people in your area that would be happy to have that saw dust. My grandfather use to sell it to farmers to use for cow and calf bedding and pet stores loved it for their animal cages. Am I seeing a new revenue stream for the Morgans? Blessings always, p.r.morehouse
Good morning to the Morgan’s, you’re getting a lot done and making the best of this bad situation going on. Thanks for remaining calm and not stirring up panic. Sure glad that Hunter was able to get his BK day. Means an awful lot to him and hard to understand why it was postponed! Looking good around there, keep up the good work and videos and thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Nice hats , camo would look great also ! 👍
Long time watcher here and enjoy the videos. I was watching one the other day and it dawned on me, have you ever seen that movie "Click", with Adam Sandler. I feel like I'm watching you live your life and you're fast forwarding through the boring parts.
So as i watch Mike cutting the pine all I want is to smell that fresh cut pine. Living in Idaho were we are mostly all pine tree’s i have a great fondness for the smell of fresh cut or split pine. One of my favorite things
We had knotty pine paneling in out living room as a kid. After 10 years the boards shrunk and we had to take them down and re-put them to eliminate the gaps. Only use screws on siding and when the green boards shrink, if you want you can fix the gaps..

Let it shrink, then nail narrow strips over the cracks to make board and batten siding

Jeff Trag It’s a wood shed. Gaps are a good thing. Should actually be spaced a bit.
Hello Morgans. Had a quick thought about what to do with all the bark rough cuts. You can use them on the back side of the building instead of using good lumber. Just a thought about getting the most out of the logs. Great video in this time of uncertainty. Keep posting them, because in this crazy time it brings a little tranquility!!
Fine job cutting that lumber, looks great and I agree with we WILL become stronger from this virus. Be safe all...
Love your optimism! Watching your projects helps me get thru the day and actually have started some projects of my own. Keep up the good work
Siding is looking on the wood shed. Hope everyone stays well. Say hey to the family and yall HAVE A DAY 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good to understand how things work
Thanks for another great video. Stay healthy and safe
Mike, when you build your sawmill shed have a strong beam over the mill so you can use a winch to help turn and handle logs. Its very helpful if you have 110/220 power to your mill for lights, winch, battery charger est.
Coming along quite nicely 👍
Good morning Mike and Melissa, another great video. Love watching the milling of logs into lumber. I think the Corona Virus may just be Mother Nature’s way to get the world to slow down and let humanity reset it self a bit. Keep Calm and Morgan On! 😀
Looking pretty good you guys and great use of some smaller logs! We cut alot of siding with our WoodMizer and it always turns out pretty awesome! Look forward to seeing your woodshed all finished up! Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Good morning Morgan's.
Really enjoyed your video today. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks for showing the setup / maintenance. Makes me feel better since often your videos make it seem like 100% of your time is "productive", when I spend all this time just keeping equipment running, blades sharp, oil in equipment, etc.
Wow#9 !!!!
Have a day Mike
I can’t wait for retirement so I can build our cabin with my saw with my trees and become very self sufficient. Im glad the fresh cut oak for building its looking awesome good job 👍
You're a good man, Mike Morgan. You're blessed with a great wife and family, and a good way of life. I know in my heart that comes from our God, but I also know you make it very easy for God to have those blessings come your way. Thanks for your posts. Not only are they a great way for this old guy to learn, but with this mess today, it's something so many of us look forward to to pass the time. So as so many are starting to say, "have a day".
I recently joined your channel, started watching from the beginning, now up to 300, something to do in these troubled times, that is 300 more likes for you, have a great day.
Good video and good advice. Keep up the good work, stay healthy, stay positive and most importantly stay busy.
Hey Morgan’s, we in northern most Wisconsin are taking care of our grand kids for the 8th day because their parents are working and schools are closed. So we are doing school work for the morning and then chores around the 85 acres. We are making firewood in snow up to our knees, several bond fires and hotdogs, planting seed in peat pots, making blue bird houses, cleaning wood duck houses, greasing the 1070 jd etc etc etc. I had to go to town to see if it is true of people going to the Walmart to hoard toilet paper. I appreciate Mike and Melissa stressing that we work together and not be selfish.
Stay positive Mike. 👍
I am glad Hunter is doing some better, our son Thomas is making do, although due to work in considerations I can't visit my mother-in-law. Since we only see them once a week. Plus if I catch this virus I be out of work at least three weeks, and would have to isolate from my wife because she has asthma. Y'all stay safe.
Mike, I am with ya!
Mike i'm glad to see that your milling your logs first then cutting to length, you never know when those short pieces might come in handy. John Mangas
Those slabs of pine would really make the wood shed look as though it were made of logs , if you nailed them horizontally. Maybe use the as lap siding. Just sitting here watching you work . Maybe you could use your rough cut boards some where else just a thought. I also noticed the saw dust building up and wondered why you couldn't" hang a 5 gal. bucket on the discharge . When full use it as a mulch around your trees and flower gardens or something ,thanks for your videos and time ,,I enjoy everyone.
good Job Mike on helping calm people down! we are a strong people and yes, we will all make it fine. Im sure I lives will change some. but keep going. it`s all for the better. the good lord knows what he`s doing. say your prayers and keep up the excellent videos and stay safe. god bless the Morgans!
A nice relaxing way to start the day. I really enjoy your channel. You commented that it is relaxing for you to saw a few logs.....well that works for me as well just to watch you. :)
Beautiful cap. Love to have one.
i,m with ya brother good outlook ! AMEN !!!
Be sure and let us know if you ever do a factory tour at Woodmiser. An Outdoors meet and greet would be great to attend, especially just in the neighboring town. As for your bark boards, they would make great siding for another elevated blind.
Yes, the simple joy of finding something small that you loose. Like when you drop a screw in the shop, and you look down and see it immediately.
Way to go Addison! From a 25 yr. resident in Snowmass Village! Owned the Conoce station with my business partner Big Jeff!
Mike & Melissa - Another great video. Thanks for your thoughts on things, and your positive attitudes. While it's hard for Hunter, know all of you are doing your best to show him the love he needs (heard the comment about the girls getting him to Burger King). Great thought from Addison Gardner below too. He lives in a part of the country my wife and I began our married life - Colorado. Miss it some days, but every place has it's own form of beauty. Blessings to you and the family. Hi to Hunter.
Hahaaaaa...My phone fell over just as you were bringing up the boards on the tractor...And for a second I thought you dropped the load...That's how you know your into the video. LOL 😄✌
In the summer due to my bald head I always wear the Tilley T3 WANDERER , Made In Canada .... Ya Baby !!!!!!!!!
Hey Morgans
That Slab Wood would make some good looking siding for a shed !!
I like how you use the cookies and supports for the equipment
I agree with you Mike think things will be better after all this is over
You are working smart there Mike , good to see! Laying the sawn boards on the tractor bucket, a lot less bending down and picking up each board, Easier on your back!
@rheagriffiths3838
4 жыл бұрын
Edward Finn I bought a tractor after seeing him do this. I needed an excuse to get one and with a mill it just made sense. I may have done it all backwards, but I do have everything I need now and I feel like my timing was perfect. All I got on that one.
I don't know what you could use that thin layer bark cut on, but it would be kinda cool to use it on something. Maybe siding for a deer blind or put it down on the trail then cover it with wood chips. To wood chip that trail it's gonna take the entire family chipping in. Takes a ton of wood chips and they don't go too far for everything you gotta chip. I'd almost ask a tree company if they need a spot to dump chips you got one for them. I always got wood chips from our city compost place where the tree trimmers dump. An entire days worth of them chipping would do like 40 feet on the trail.
Enjoyed the video!
Makes me smile to think about Hunter, sounds like the wheels are always turning.
Hallo morgans hallo all viewers stay safe all together hope everything went well again in a short time!👋
Nice logs.
Those slabs with the bark would make good siding .tell hunter thanks for the heads up on the spicy chicken sandwich he’s got me hooked on it and I can’t wait to get my Head in the new hat.
Man Mike i wished i lived by you i would come up to you to get the slabs of bark you are cutting off to put on my goat pen to make it look like a Log Cabin that would look so so Cool to do that Thank You for the GREAT SHOWS You Are No .1 From Oxford Pa Chester Co
I am glad to hear that Hunter has been at BK.
I’m sure I’ve said it before, your mill was made in my home town!
Mike, all your equipment & gear is great, but your best investment IS the winch. Keeps you safe for family, friends, & more Outdoor With The Morgans 🇺🇸💪 🌳😉
Give us a look at the shed a year from now. Out here on the West Coast we don't have red pine; Doug Fir is the construction lumber of choice. However I've seen a 4 x 8 beam twist to a S shape. Hard to imagine how much stress is is lumber.
Wish we had some cold weather
Yo Mike, I noticed when you were cutting boards that you raise the head on your mill in preparation for the next cut. I run an older LT 40 and I am able to pull the board and return the head without raising it. It just fits and saves a step and makes measuring for the next board quicker. Just an FYI that may work for you.
good video, every one has their own ideas, techniques and plans. I do not want to invest in a sawmill and do all the work cutting timber off my farm so this is how I build a farm shed. I purchase metal carports in the size I want or need. It gives me a 10' metal roof in the center sloping to 8' on each side and metal framework on each side, I pay 65 cents per board foot of sawmill lumber locally so I buy 2.5 x 2.5 inch sawmill studs and frame the vertical metal posts of the carport with this lumber to have wood to nail to, I then use 3/4" x 12" x 8' lumber on the sides to close the carport in, then use 3/4" x 3" x 8' battens to cover the gaps. Quick sheds that I can frame in and close one end or leave both ends open for drive thru. I have eight sheds/ barns I built this way and one of the sheds is 18' wide and 42' long with both ends open so I can drive thru pulling a trailer or store a trailer load of material until I need it and have room on the sides to store other things. simple quick build and works great for my needs.
Good morning!

You Snowman!
when you measure a log use a marking pen to mark the length on the butt end and you don't have to measure that log again or try to guess the length. I do this on all lumber I store in the wood shed, saves time and a lot of measuring.
Good Morning Hunter ;-)
New to the channel enjoy your videos you sire have some nice toys love it
Mike, I have some pretty pitchy pine out here in California, a little bit of iso propyl alcohol as in a few oz for that five gallons keeps it from freezing, a couple cap fulls of dawn and pine sol is really all ya need. I see a bit of money going into your load every time just wanted to offer up some less expensive options.
Love this series can't wait to see what the sawmill shed will look like. Where do you put all that sawdust.
Greetings from 🌞 28°F in Providence, RI 🇺🇸Hi Hunter 🍔
