    @Digby Dooright Money isn't everything when it comes to choosing a specialty. Just watch some medical drama's and notice how each doctor is characterized based on their specialty. Social pressures to be in the most respectable and valuable position informs on many peoples choices. Of course personal values and beliefs are also important, but finding people who value curing mental illness over physical illness is still rare. Also, Somebody who is interested in Psychiatry might tell you they want Neurology because it is seen as more respectable even if disorders of mood and thought is their core interest.

    If I was a doctor, I would be a diagnostic breast radiologist in academic practice because I would still be making a stable salary every year even if I only see one or no patients. I also enjoy research, academics and teaching.

    This is the first of these videos I've seen, but I have to say that this is a great format for picking the brains of physicians. Surprisingly, the "day in the life" videos aren't usually all that enlightening, but this in-depth questionnaire was very informative. Keep them coming! I found this to be far more insightful than the average "physician's life" video.

    I’ve probably watched this interview more than the others. ENT is a fascinating specialty! What he said about changing the pressure to rush the time with patients. I agree. It’s a shame insurance has pressured providers to keep limiting their time with patients. I’m very fortunate to work with my ENT. Even when I’m probably the last person of his day & he’s probably exhausted…. He still takes the time to spend time answering my questions while showing he’s truly trying to do his best to help with whatever is going on. I can tell he really cares for his patients. I’m having surgery with him 5/18/22 to hopefully fixed being able to breathe thru my nose. I’ve had 1 surgery & 1 procedure to work towards fixing this. I’m anatomically restricted for getting airflow in. That makes sleep, life, & martial arts performance, all difficult. Thanks to all of the ENT Doctors for what they do! ❤️ I’m one of many people that love doing life & Sports that are hard without proper airflow. Y’all make it possible for us to live life and enjoy our sports to the fullest. Thank You! ❤️

    I would love if this Dr was in my area….I awake regularly with one nostril clogged where NO air gets thru it. I wonder what causes this and is it possible that both could clog at the same time when you are sleeping????

  • @rubenmedina33

    @rubenmedina33

    2 жыл бұрын

    Nostrils actually take turns being "clogged". It can be something as simple as increased blood flow from your position which causes your turbinates to fill with blood and causes a "clogged" senstation but in reality there is no mucus or actual obstruction. It's a natural process that happens to most people. Another common cause is inflammation from an allergen or external irritant. It's not life threatening.

Next ent didn't want to proceed until got mri and other results from 1st one and said will call in 2weeks. I called this morning (a month later) and got an ignorant run around. I am in pain. I am unable to work. Can anyone recommend an ent in n. Georgia who might actually treat me? Need help please.

    Why do ENTs continue to not help patients who are severely injured by unecessary aggressive and conservative turbinate/septoplasty surgeries? Why are these surgeries marketed in the first place? These are important organs that should not be touched unless there is a cancer or tumor yet ENTs continue to persuade patients into doing these procedures. Is there no ethics once the oath is taken?
