Neurosurgeon's have the eye's of a hawk, the heart of a lion and hands of a lady. I have come to fully believe this after my sister had multiple craniotomy's because of having glioblastoma (may she RIP) and now myself having a craniotomy for two out four anyerisms that was treated by clipping. My surgeon and his surgical team saved my life. I have so much respect and gratitude for him.

So I’m pretty sure most neurosurgeons are skilled in what they do are extremely knowledgeable what I 100% see your viewpoint it’s just sometimes patients have 0 background knowledge of medicine so as long as they know you are competent or something I’m pretty sure they don’t mind if you operate on them if you get what I mean

These people are amazing life savers the strength and courage it takes to be them is unmatchable. I never really knew much about neurosurgery until my partner got a very rare brain tumor called craniopharyngioma and needed a bifrontal craniotamy to remove it took along time to recover she had 28 stitchs but is recovered great now unfortunately there's still 10% of the tumor there but hoping radiotherapy will help fingers crossed. Thank you to all the neurosurgeon's I now look up to them as hero's.

If a person wants money they'll go into finance NOT medical school. It's way too long and brutal to simply do for money. 4 years of college+ 4 years of med school+ 7 years of residency+ 2 years of fellowship= 17 YEARS of training. There are faster ways to make money so DO NOT go into medicine if your goal is to "make money." You have to LOVE the field of medicine and helping people or else you'll be angry and bitter. - This is coming from a medical student 7 years in.

its mind blowing how similar I am with him and how much different we are at the same time and that is in how we both wanted to become a neurosurgeon but I wasn't strong enough to push furrowed when life got in the way. For some time now I was petty about it and maybe still.. but for some reason this video was really comforting! I study optometry now in an OD program and I hope I find passion in it as much as I have in neurosurgery since med school is long gone now. Great video thanks!

There's not a lot neurosurgeons, cardiothoracic surgeon, and other specialists out there. It takes a lot work, time, and effort to get to where you want to be Then there's the constant education because as a doctor the education is never ending. There's always a new discovery, medicine, etc out there you have to keep yourself updated with.

This is great! I missed my calling. I ended up self diagnosing with Cushings Disease due to pituitary adenoma, and was right!!! I was deemed a complicated patient, and I was, but no one wanted to take on the consideration it took. These physicians are convinced Cushings Disease is so rare. It is not. It is simply not often diagnosed!
