This was the first game I ever went to. Even though the sun was shining, it was a cold and miserable day in more ways than one. I spent the next season watching United against teams like Orient and Bristol City, but we still had the highest average gate in the country.

another urban myth here saying Denis law relegated United. Had match finished 0--0 or 5 nil to United , it wouldnt have mattered, they would have been relegated regardless of results elsewhere. It's like United fans saying Frank Stapeltobns 2 goals in march 83 at Maine road or Ryan Giggs winner at Maine Road in 96 sent City down.
