    That bike is sweet. I'm currently doing a 72 volt on my Revv1. 5kw motor in the rear, 100 amp salvation controller, 120 amp BMS, 40AH battery, xt90's. Planning to run 90 amps, should be crazy.

    A front hub motor might help keep the front wheel down. I've tried asking e-bike manufacturers if they would just sell the frame and wheels but they always shoot me down by raising compatibility issues, which to anyone that knows anything, is a bunch of BS. They don't want you building something with their parts that outperforms their stock bike and costs less to build. I've even tried just asking to buy a frame and I get the same response.

  • @tenncutt

    I think a front motor would add some much needed weight where you need it! Might keep that front end down. Citizen Cycle has kits for that bike doesn't he? Enjoyed the video. Have you seen e-bikeguy on KZread? His bike went 105. 8000 amp motor i think

    The increased speed will come from the 72V battery, the controller at 100 amps will increase your torque and raw power.

  • @lewisedwardson7776

    @lewisedwardson7776

    6 ай бұрын

    Nah. Speed comes from Watts. More Volts = more watts. More Amps = more watts. Upgrading from 60V to 72V is +20% power. Upgrading from like 40A to 100A is +150% power. The controller upgrade will make a way bigger difference for speed, than the battery upgrade. Battery is primarily for range, controller is for speed, and the only thing that will change the torque-to-power ratio is motor gearing. Granted, current is limited by both the battery's BMS protection, and the controller, so if your current is already optimal, you'd also have to upgrade the battery in order to get any more current out of it. I don't know where this whole idea in the e-bike community comes from that Volts is the determining factor, but it's not, Volts is basically irrelevant. The only thing a higher Volt battery does is allow you to send more power to the motor than intended, because the current limit is still the same, so higher volts = higher watts with the same current, so it does increase your maximum potential power when the controller's current limit or the motor's wiring becomes the limiting factor for current. There are 72V setups that only go 35 mph. And there are 48V setups that go 60 mph. Because Watts is what determines your speed, not Volts. 3000W of power, from 48V 60A, is going to result in the same speed as 3000W of power from a 72V 40A kit. Power is power, doesn't matter what Voltage. The only advantage to a higher Voltage is being able to reach higher wattage with a lower current, which takes it easy on the wiring.

    Motor is still only rated 1500w.... any more you are burning the motor up...My Wired will never see anymore than rated watts... it's speed limited to 56kph and c5 is factory.. I have no need to do 72kph and pop wheelies

  • @lewisedwardson7776

    @lewisedwardson7776

    5 ай бұрын

    @@Blazer1993 If you're not hitting full power nonstop, then it isn't burning the motor up to run a higher peak power for short periods of time. If you try to go 72 kph nonstop for the whole battery, you're burning the motor, but in my case, I just want extra power for the acceleration, so I can quickly speed up to 50-70 kph, then let off of the motor and just pedal/coast for a few seconds, and let out a burst of motor every now and then to maintain speed, giving it ample time for cooldowns. I prefer this style of riding, over steady power, because I have more incentive to pedal hard if the motor isn't running all the time, but in order to have the motor off a lot, and still maintain a good speed, I need a peak power that is significantly higher than the continuous power that would sustain the speed that I'm intending to go without continuous power.

    Is the motor stock? It seems like it would need modification to handle higher amperage but if it doesn't greatly exceed it's manufacturers limits it might be alright. Isn't 100 amps 40 amps higher than stock? I don't see how the motor could be stock either but what do I know?
