    Okay I tried this and IT WORKS. I mean I knew that it works but I mean works as In something a novice can do and make it work. AHG does not hair type but to put it in prospective this worked and all the various curl pattens in my hair. With that being said, you better put on the whole amount of God because that right arm and those right fingers will need prayer when you get finished.

    When I do my wash and go, I have to use a gel because my hair will be frizzy just with style cream and foam. Maybe I need to try a better foam because the foam I used was the Shea moisture hibiscus foam. I do have the lotta body foam that I have not used yet but the last time I used the Shea moisture foam, I sat under the dryer and once my hair was dry, I went to stretch my hair with the concentrator and it was frizzy all over. My hair shrinks too much so when I use a heavy gel with max hold it adds weight and stretch and I get more days when I use gel. I don’t go past 4 days without wetting my hair down completely cause once my hair tends to lose moisture, the ends will begin to tangle with one another. I have type 4, low porosity, kinky coily. My strands are really fine. I wish I could sit in your chair one day. This small town in ky don’t have any curly hair salons so when I went natural dec 2017, I learned from KZread how to care for my hair. I’ve learned to embrace bad hair days along with the good.

    Gels can add the weight to help loosen and texturize the curl pattern. When I used gel, I would use the glycerine based curl activator gel. It will help give me a balance of hold and moisture with the glycerine and Aloe Vera maintaining moisture balance. I would sometimes add mousse to help in curl formation like I demonstrated here.

    If it's just straight... There's no variety to straight. I don't believe in hair typing and besides that most people don't understand how to access their own curl pattern in comparison to others outside of their own. Besides that, do you really believe there's only 3 forms of kinky afro textured hair. When you have seen as many curl textures as I have you find it silly to limit curl patterns from 1-4 & A thru C...

  • @iateyursandwiches

    @iateyursandwiches

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@AfrikanHairGod I'm agreeing with you for the most part. I'm just saying type 4 is a general way to refer to more straight up afro type hair, type 3 more visibly curly type hair, 2 more wavy type, and 1 more straight. Subcategories are pointless. I think there is value in pointing out hair that tends to be super dry, has tight to hardly visible curls, and shrink up at least 4 inches less than it's actually length as type 4 though. The techniques needed for that hair will definitely be different than type 2 or 1 hair. Though, yes, every head will not be exactly the same regardless and there can be some mixtures.

    @AfrikanHairGod

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@Iesha83 you want to talk about misinformation? Okay. Let's dissect what a wash n go really is and where it came from. Wash n go was a term used by white women with curly or wavy hair that would choose to wear their hair in its natural state instead of typically doing blowouts to smooth and straighten their hair after shampooing it.They would wash their hair, apply some light products, maybe scrunch some foam, and then leave it. Black naturals are the ones who have taken this terminology and transformed it into anything but a "Wash n Go". How is what I'm doing any different from how people slathering heavy products, raking, combing, brushing, shingling, diffusing, etc? You can call it whatever you want but understand that I'm not ignorant to the term wash n go. We get so caught up in hair typing, curl patterns, terminology, and classifications that we over politicize natural hair and focus on things that aren't important. This video is not to alter or change your's or anyone's interpretation on what a wash n go is or isn't. This is how I do my wash n gos. Take it for what it is and call it whatever you want. For example some people refer to flat iron services as silk presses, in another area it may be, thermal straightening or thermal relaxing, or ceramic infusion or even just a blowout... Etc.. The important thing for me to know as a cosmetologist, is to be able to interpret the look and desire my clients want despite which lingo they decide to use. For this client, she wanted her curls enhanced and defined and I did it in such a way that will allow her the look she wanted but give her an extra week of wear.
