I had a Lincoln Mark III and I LOVED that car. Beautiful and well made. I loved polishing up that front grill. It was like driving a couch, so luxurious and comfortable with all the bells and whistles you could want for that era.

That's the problem. I saw this movie so long ago and I was so young and riveted that even now.. decades later, that chill and fright never leaves you. I remember thinking that car horn was the car laughing. The part that really did me in as a kid was when it just appeared in Wade's garage. I was SOO SCARED !! To this day I'm like.. how the hell did he get in the garage?? The way in was locked from the outside. The way out was only by doorway... so wtf lol.

Damn I’m old. Saw this movie in the theater as a little kid.

When gasoline was cheap you could kill an entire town. Those glory days are gone.

Insane movie, I remember seeing it as a teen, the ole demonic car trick!

Some random thoughts: ---Lincolns of that era weren't really renowned for good handling, and the amount of Barris-fabricated bodywork on that thing must have made it handle like a dump truck. That stunt driver definitely earned his pay. ---The engine sounds are definitely studio-produced. The engine in that monster was a FoMoCo 460, and it needed every bit of power to push that thing along. The custom body had a HUGE amount of steel in it. ---With the 2018/2019 remake, supposedly this car makes a re-appearance with Ronny Cox as the driver. I don't know any other details, and it's not really a spoiler; one of the reviews on a Google search already published it. ---If anybody can rip any scenes from the remake, post 'em up! Would love to see if it's really worth renting...

I saw this movie as a kid back in the day, it scared the crap out of me!! I did not want to go out and play outside for a good while after seeing it. I was scared to death it was outside somewhere on my block waiting for kids to run over.

To be honest the look of it. Its very frighting...can you imagine at night time 🚶 in a road. You see this 🚗. You keep walking. And for some reason you want to stair at it again. Because curiasity gets you. And all of a suddeng. Lights turn on. Engine turns on. Maan. It will give you the creeps... Just by looking at the head lights. It feels like its looking at you...

I saw this classic in 1977 at the border theatre in Mission, Tx scared the crap out of me.

I was 12 when I saw this movie, freaked the shit right out of me.

It took too long in my opinion to really give that 'shock moment' to the audience (the killer car abruptly stopping after it got yelled at by that hitchhiking guy).. But on the other hand, ABS wasn't invented at that time ;)

Same here man, this movie scared the crap out of me so bad I had to sleep with the lights on. I'm telling you, one night this when I was just about to go to sleep this supped up car come racing up the neighborhood I jumped out the bed on to the floor. Then I got up and ran into the closet.

In the scene where the Car goes after the teacher they should have said hey Kool Aid! Just before the Car blew through the walls of that house!

The car is one of the best horror movies ever produced.

This was a great movie. One of the best in the 70s, when they made good horror and fantasy/sci-fi. Where u could smoke a little reefer, enhance the enjoyment. Haven't smoked in years. I'd probably get paranoid now😄. Anyway, it was worth the $3.50 spent to see it. Better movies back then for way less money. The car thru the house was crazy fun. But the ending was awesome. Great special effects for 77.

Haha, some parts of this were quite funny like when it's circling around outside the graveyard. Also, it's horn sounds like it's laughing!
