@@wymelwilliams1139 I think David Ruffin was long dead by the time this concert took place. Guys got a great point. That singers voice is about as close to TP as your going to get. I lived in Philly for a few years in the early 80s at the time of TPs auto accident. After that for a few years I think Harold Melvin tried to lead and he wasn't bad, just not the same type of voice.

David passed away in 1991 and he never sang with the BlueNotes. The guy singing lead is incredible. He’s actually almost better than Teddy….which is freaky. Never heard anybody sound so much like TP. Anybody know his name?

I had the opportunity to play for the Stylistics for many many years starting with the original singer Mr Russell Thompson Jr a real class act all three of them and had a chance to work with the music director Mr Kenny Thompson I learned a lot being with this act and how to be very sensitive to the music I also had a chance to work with other artists playing for them or just being on the same tour that's a school in itself I was there again when Russell was there and when he Departed from the group and Eban joined the group it was a pleasure drumming for both of them and Herb Murrell and Airron love. I Still remain. Emanuel White Jr E-man
Unforgettable, I haven't seen nothing better. I am so blessed to have the original experience of real people, family, music. Memories are forever and a day
Absolutely beautiful
When music was music that you could understand
Viewing this on the TV so Mom can see what she's listened to throughout the years 😎. I don't mind listening because it's REAL music with really talented instrumentalists 🎙🎷🎺🎸🎶. Thank you twosteps for the quality video!
the Blue notes are a legend...North & West Philly will never be the same..my school days spent watching and listening to Harold when the boy's began to form their group back in the 50's will never be forgotten. we never got any homework done and missed a few dinner's till our parents made us come in doors...Music was real and rich back in the day when we were all raised together. old school was music that you could understand, the lyrics and sounds were true. RIP: Bernard, Teddy, and Harold,,my friends, you are missed and loved..keep singing on the clouds until I see you when it is my season...the legacy continues...thank you for the memories of love...

Why would you want Eban? Russell Thompkins Jr was the lead singer for the Stylistics for 35 years. He and he alone recorded the Stylistics hit songs. All of them! Airion sang a few lines on 2 of their hits. Eban was hired to imitate Russell when Russell left in 2000 and Russell still sings with his new Stylistics....all the songs He recorded. He still tours at 71 yrs old and still sounds the same. He is voice of original Stylistics.
@janjordan-bonner9050
2 жыл бұрын
@@nancywood9531, Russell leads his own group. It doesn’t appear that he will be returning to the two “original “ Stylistics any time soon. Besides, if you have watched any interviews that he’s given, he has stated that he was no longer happy with the original singers. So , one reason I would like for Eban to return as lead singer. Another reason, he was there for 18 years and he was and still would be an excellent replacement for Russell. Finally, in my opinion, Bo’s voice was a better sound for the Temptations. (Bo, don’t respond to this comment again please. Your voice is great.)

@@nancywood9531 So true. Russusell Thompkins Jr. Is the best. Did you know he was influenced by Eddie Kendricks.
@nancywood9531

@@destinykhan9085 he was a friend of Eddie Kendricks and the Stylistics toured for 3 months with the Temps. He and Eddie discussed Russell Leaving the Stylistics ten years before he actually left them. Eddie talked him out of leaving by saying too many people ( the 4 steppers) band and many behind scene depended on him . Actually he was influenced at age 13 by Frankie Valli's voice. That's when he decided to develope his falsetto voice. Russell was influenced, and developed his technique by Thom Bell.......he looked up to many artists and learned from many of them....he listens to "The Moments" albums daily. He is very diverse and can sing any genre. He has been guest singer with Brian Wilson and Beachboy Band , Alicia Keys singing "People Make the World Go Round" on TV special...the Average White Band ( AWB) singing " A Love of Your Own" by Hamish Stuart...deep soul song....sang on the Tonight Show with his new Stylistics. And in concert with the Myrtle Beach 60 piece Symphony orchestra to name a few... You can find these on you tube along with complete concert in Holston. Be sure to watch " A love of Your own"with AWB featuring Russell Thompkins Jr. It's amazing. 🎶🌟🎶
