“Lucky for me, Harbor Freight exists.” I think all us DIY guys have said that at least once. 🤣 CAD: “Cardboard aided design” hilarious! Keep the jokes coming. I’m stealing that joke for sure. Lol
Absolutely sick! Now this for an electric vehicle makes sense. Awesome! This is the future of karting. Just bring a couple hot swappable batteries to the track.
I wish I had the onewheel guy’s hair
That looks epic, nice work mate.
Lol. I played soccer w/ a few EE Ga. Tech students. You remind me of how funny they were. Thanks for the video. Fun and your humor is next level. CAD…. 😂
I admire you man. This is the kind of thing that I can only dream of. I’m too busy trying to make a living but have been contemplating on making ever since. Good job young man
This is sick!

damn this is sick. it’s crazy how popular qs motor became. when i built my kart there was very little brushless motor options which is why i went with and old dc motor

awesome - subbed! i just build a 20kw EPPG to fly. i love electric stuff!
This video got us up to 4,000 subs! Thank you all!
Amazing build!!! I wanna build one so bad for my son and I but not an electrical engineer unfortunately. Do you have a build sheet or step by step posted anywhere? TIA
i need one off them :D
Hi, I am planning on building a similar thing aswell and saw that you had some good times with those metzev batterys…the store hasnt launched though? how did you get them
Id love 2 see the qs165v3 thing looks like a beast
Well I can't say much.......when I was 12 I was riding a twin McCulloch 101AA Dart Kart thru residential neighborhoods at highspeeds. Nothing outrageous.....perhaps 80mph in a 20mph. Only about 1000x louder than this kart lol. I have to admit, at almost 60 i'm a bit stuck in the past but I decided to expand my horizons and subscribe to this channel. Just be careful.......dogs etc can really create a bad day. The electric stuff does have appeal. Gas motors can be a pain. And the McCullochs required a masters in mechanical just to get started it seemed.
I'm half way considering a pretty unique build of my own. This was super fun to watch. Also, how far can you get with the regen breaking? I'm curious if I can get away with smaller breaks relying mostly on regen.
@AllThingsElectric_

Range would be an interesting test, no idea. I can say however it’s about 45 minutes of hard driving. I actually have no physical brakes on this build; they’re there but the bleed screw is stuck so they have no pressure. The regen is so powerful that it will lock the wheels entirely while going full speed.
@Kabab

@@AllThingsElectric_ amazing to hear regen is that good. I think I can tune it in software too for a bit of further reverse force on the front too if I had 4wd 4 motor. Super intrigued

UP THE SPROCKET UNTIL IT BLOWS THE FUSE!!!! THEN GO SIZE DOWN. You can also change the throttle curve for smoother accelleration.

Cool video man! Was wondering why you guys don't put suspension on those type carts?
@AllThingsElectric_
8 ай бұрын
These karts have been engineered this way for decades. It is what pro racers use to practice because the physics scale up. One with suspension would def be a cool project though!
An off road go kart with that same reduction motor would be wild. Gear it low for rough terrain.
Awesome build. what website would one acquire such a powerful battery?

Hello, great work, may I know what kind of motor kit this is exactly? and where can you order it? Thanks..
Im wondering how you managed to install a reverse switch I tried reversing the polarity and it didn’t work I have no idea how you managed to do it with a switch.
Should do a electric mini jeep build.

How did you hook up the throttle pedal? I want to do my own one.
Being a go Kart. Did you play with the rear wheel spacing to give you more control? Standard chassis tuning. Wider loses grip but keeps the kart flatter, narrower gives more grip however it will be trickier to control and be smooth with it. Like the way you edited the production, well done.

Where's the 70mph run??
You can never have too much power, just not enough traction ~ Carrol Shelby i think
Where did you get the kart chassis from?
You're going to want to put that blue reflector back. They mark underwater pipes and Fire departments use them to locate fire hydrants in an emergency. Don't be a contributing reason why your neighbors dies in a housefire. You have the data on this video to know where to put it. You can probably use JB weld and there will be an imprint on the road where they originally epoxied the reflector.
Could you please put a list with all the individual parts to buy. Please?
How much would a cart like this cost?
Why not use dualtron 3 motors hub motors, four of them so technically it would be an all-wheel drive cart
Take it to the track and have drivers try it!

Great video! I am guessing you have never had a speed controller let the magic smoke out, because you would not be doing all that testing on a cluttered bench like that. If that popped, you would have lost your house. There would have been no way to stop the fire from spreading. Be careful man, we want to see more videos!

I just looked through your site and I have a project you may be interested in. Basically just take a flight controller and reconfigure the software to operate a vehicle. Use one motor per wheel and you can go nuts programming all sorts of drive systems. I personally cannot modify that code but the guys from Emuflight believe it wouldn't be very difficult. My thought was to build a 4wd kart with one motor per wheel much like how formula SAE karts are built and then sort out dynamic stability and even drift angle control in software if I was to ever get to that level. Would love to chat some time if you're around. I guess respond to this message if you'd like to...

What was the build cost
So where is the best place to order this motor? It sounds expensive but as an old go fast with gas guy.......getting a ICE powered kart to go this fast wouldn't be unheard of to have around a 2k engine if not way , way more. So similar I would say. The acceleration seems wicked but a 70mph top end isn't super fast. I guess if you had twin motors you could have smaller sprockets and probably go over 100mph easily with still the insane acceleration. Overall I like it.
Peek a boo I see blue

That motor is 50hp and the one in my rc truck is 25hp they say.... it's a castle creations xlxl2 esc with the 2028 1100kv motor. They say on 8s it's 25 hp. People say that's way way under rated that it's more like 30hp. There is a guy than made a go kart with a castle xlx2 and a 2028 800kv motor on 12s and it did like 50 plus mph and even did a dual motor one as well! But I'd rather have one the way you built it more tourqe I feel like
