I got one Christmas day..1978ish. We lived in a 3 floored urban maisonette.. Let it fly down the landing in the hallway.. Straight down the gap between the floors.. Smashed to smithereens... Evil's arms were just spikes.. Bless Dad though.. He found every single piece and glued it all together..

I did plenty of knuckle busting playing with these when I was a kid! You tip the winder over a little bit and scraped the hell out of your knuckles...one of my favorite toys back then.

I remember that all to well now that you mention it. Some days we'd have to put on a glove after busting our knuckles a few times. Great toy and loads of fun.

I came in at 2nd place at Chapel Hill Mall's Evil Knievel jump contest when I was 7yrs old. Got beat out by some little bastard from North Hill(Akron,Ohio.). Since then my life has taken a horrible turn into drugs and a hatred for anything RV related. Great toy though.

Got one in 1974 or 1975 for my birthday, still have the photo of me opening it. This is the toy that taught me advertising lies. You could never, ever duplicate the stunts on the commercials.

The regular bike was the best, the chopper was ok but the fork springs didn't last. The realistic part was Evil's wire skeleton, If it broke, it could actually poke out like a real bad broken arm.

Had several of these Evel toys back in the day. The stunt cycle was great, but the Sky Cycle (pictured in this ad) was less than thrilling. To make it fit on the bike’s same energizer the dimensions were all wrong. Instead of a sleek missile on wheels it was this big, stubby, clunky piece of plastic that was too heavy to do much more than crawl up a ramp and fall off the end, lol. But the original stunt cycle was epic.

The sky cycle really sucked. Too large and heavy to build up any speed. It just kind of teetered along and wouldn't even make it up a ramp. I remember trading it to a friend for his old train set.
