You can get a "Leeroy Jenkins" shoutout on a local radio station where I'm from. He's so famous, people who don't play wow know who he is.

I had no idea that Tauren farmer had such a story. I always thought it was cool that he had such a unique voice compared to other Tauren. Awesome stuff.

You you forgot bout that hunter and his pet in shatttah, who died in real life became an npc in aldor's rise. That npc even had the mismatched armor in honor of that boy.

Reckful didn't play Sub because he thought Assassination was too strong lol. He saw the pros of sub rogues when no one else did, so that's what he played. Reckful understood really early on that mobility and timing win against pure damage.

There was a warrior on my server called Killerrod who was so bad at playing the game, even though he was one of the most active players on the server and always leading pug raids. He became infamous for being such a bad player that somebody started a raiding guild called Killerrod and it became one of the best raid guilds on the server. He tried to join them later on(they refused).

That’s so fucked up they didn’t let him join. Leaders don’t need to be the most intelligent, courageous, efficient or competent individuals, they only need to being people together and those who follow them can be those things. Obviously, he was great but just not in a way that’s common, can be copied or have a traditional way to make records. But he unified some people to become the best, he inspired them and brought them together and they turned their backs?! Even nolifers & trutryhards have more humanity in them, than those guys.

@@notsoberoveranalyzer8264 Well he would have been a liability if he were to have raided with them to be fair. He was hilarious... trying to sell bind on pick up items in the tradechat, telling the world chat about his new items/mounts when nobody cared etc. He was genuinely always making a fool of himself somehow publicly on the server. On top of that he used to get like 5k DPS as a Fury warrior in WOTLK with end game gear that he reserved for himself in the raids he organized. For comparison I was pulling like 15k+ DPS at least with mine. He ended up changing his character name to change his image and went from DPS to Tank which he was actually decent at. For a while DPS warriors the server over were being accused of being Killerrod, myself even. My DPS proved otherwise. After a few weeks nobody knew who the true Killerrod was and people stopped caring, he could play in peace. I knew what he changed his name too, I didn't say anything.

You forgot Loremaster Skosiris! Skosiris is the name of the character played by Wowhead's founder. In addition to this, he was one of a short list of people to complete the achievement granting him the Loremaster title, which is no small feat - the title requires completing *almost* every single quest in the game. After getting the title, Blizzard recognized him by making an npc named Loremaster Skosirirs, quite literally his character's name with title, in Shattrath.

It was yesterday when I started my first ever horde character and it is a Tauren Shaman. I picked up the dog quest, and I realised right away, that Tauren sounded so much different that any other NPCs in the game. I was wondering why, but honestly, I did not started to researche on this. Today, this video popped up in my recommendations. Coincidence? I don't think so...

Booms RP'ing as a boatman and collecting tolls is maybe the most awesome thing I can think to do in WoW.

You forgot Robin Williams as the Genie on an island off of Talador

there is a video few years back a person took his character and visited and payed respect to all the people who passed employees and players in the game. very touching video.

I remember when I got ashes first time ever attempting it and my guild laughed at me saying good luck farming that and a little bit later they seen me get the achievement for completing tempest keep and they asked if I got it I didn’t respond and just clicked the mount and when my guild mates seem the ashes achievement they all swore at me greatest day ever

There is a little girl in Stormwind keep garden who gives you a quest to take a poem to her friend in Outlands. The N.P.C is a hunter who is based on a WoW player who died and her friend asked to make a tribute character for her.

There‘s also a tribute to Eun Jiwon, very famous singer/rapper and tv personality from Korea called Little Jiwon. He played a lot of wow, and still plays it, but not as much as he used to.

My childhood friend became an NPC too. He was a huge WoW player (making to the highest rank in classic original) he applied for a job in Blizzard after college and later became an associate producer until he left the job for Riot. There is an NPC named after him in Outland.

You forgot another legend in filming history & who even named his daughter after a filmcharacter... Robin is an npc based after Robin Williams & looks like a genie, in tribute of one of his most famous voiceovers & characters in Alladin (The Genie), which was even based, on his maneurisms & comedy...

There is also Nyhm, Swifty (He was removed, unsure if he was added back), Mortuus (Not Oxhorn himself, but one of the characters from one of his machining series), Ezra, and probably more

On Twilight's hammer (EU) back in Vanilla we had a troll hunter called Neftis, Neftis was rank 14. There is also a troll NPC in Terokarr Forest called Scout Neftis,. Probably just pure coincidence, but still...

That last one almost got the waterworks going for me

So much history memories good and bad from a game. Some people will never understand that need to loose yourself in another world. Saved my life more than once along with music creator blackmill. R I P to all those players and fans who are no longer with us they will never be forgotten.

Should also be mentioned that Ezra was added as an NPC. I believe his character is located on the Aldor terrace in Shattrath.

you forgot Mei Chele in the Panda starting zone - named for Michelle Morrow - even has her cat Azrael there.

God damn I miss Reckful. Such a nice guy. I hope he is in a better place.

Along with everything other ppl mentioned, you also forgot Mia Rose the adult film star who had an NPC named after her in Twilight Highlands during Cataclysm.

Forgot that leeroy Jenkins was a question on jeopardy as well.

Almost all of the Bloodmyst Isle NPCs are named after members of the guild from Blackrock and Bloodscalp. Or in the case of Princess Stillpine, a nod to the male warlock that had the misfortune to have Robes of the Battleguard and the "Princess" moniker stuck for eternity... For everyone else, nice when a guildie becomes a blizz designer...

Oooh that why he talk like that! I got spooked when the Tauren talk like that and didn’t know who it was thought my audio was broken. Didn’t know it was voice by him.

Anyone mention Fargo Flintlock? Dude had a hilarious webcomic on Dorkly way back and actually got recruited to write for Blizz. They gave him his own NPC with his dang boomstick.

Always found it sad that blizzard never gave Reckfuls account back even though it was years & it obviously took a toll on him, But then after he passed away added him in game? :,( When he was alive they never acknowledged him

During Wrath there was a capped ally paladin named Rickblood on Ysondre that regularly ganked all the horde lowbies at Tarren Mill. Sadly, the player died a few years later. But he was super popular on the server.

Ya, pretty sure the amount of players who would agree with the "sadly" part is borderline nonexistent..... Sh*tters like that piss in strides on the gaming experience of others for their own epeen and help killing of games by making sure that new players quit the game for good within the first few hours of playtime.

Back in the TBC days of of AV battlegrounds(Nazarem server) it was always a handicap map that favored the alliance, A horde player Rathamus came up with a strategy that was guaranteed easy honor with a short 20 minute BG, all had to be on vent(Ventrilo) and all had to be willing to pull back to defend. It was that successful he had a 300-1 win/loss...the loss from the 1st try at the strategy. Even later you could call out a AV premade Rath Strat and people would ask for invite as they new it would be an easy win, a petition to get a part of AV named after Rathamus didn't succeed as the Activision business standard was overtaking the Blizzards.

If I remember correctly, comedy actor Robin Williams, after he died, had his character made into an NPC in one of the taverns in WoD.

Cymre Jones got also put into the game as a Grand Master Pet Trainer in Draenor. (Cymre Brightblade)
