In this video, Sh. Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses the 7 wisdoms of calamities, from the perspective of a Believer (Muslim). These are part of a larger list as authored by Al-Izz Ibn Abdus-Salam, a 13th century scholar of Islam. In part II of the khutbah, the people of Al-Ghouta (in Syria) are mentioned, their calamities, Islamic perspective and significance of this land as it is related to the end of times.
Topics:
-Why is there pain, why is there suffering?
-What did Allah say to the angels when they asked such a question?
-How do we approach evil and suffering?
-If we don't have humility and faith, we may reject God due to arrogance.
-By rejecting God due to the existence of evil, you introduce an infinite long list of complex questions you have no answers for.
Seven (7) wisdoms of calamities and pain in this world:
1) Demonstrates lordship - you are not all-powerful, God is.
2) Appreciate that we are the servants of God, shows who is God
3) The religiosity, eman, taqwa, du'a and calling to God that comes as a result.
4) Brings out the best of character (akhlaq) in a person (of patience, generosity, etc)
5) Allah allows 3rd parties to demonstrate generosity, testing those who are not afflicted (lots of wealth, time, good health, etc)
6) Appreciating the blessings and ease that we have on a daily basis. We learn to be thankful to Allah.
7) Blessings of Allah on day of Judgment due to pain in this world.
If you don't believe in day of judgment, you won't believe the wisdom of pain/evil in this world.

May Allah Grant to Shifa. Cannabis known to relieve Nerve pain. As a medicine it may be permissible for you to take. I dont hold the authority to declare this but you may want to find out.
I'm suffering from depression and low blood sugar levels. Make dua for me that Allah keeps me patience in the way of Allah. Ameen🙁

I am dealing with depression...these talks helping me alot.
I need this, I am at my lowest, and have been for a while. It’s like my happiness has been took from me.When I lost my son I thought that day was the worst of my life. I never question God or did I turn against God, but yet each year the pain becomes worse. I try to hold God in my heart at all time. There are days when I ask for peace and it don’t come,maybe I have lost something I can’t get back. I think maybe I’ll never find my spirt again to love life again, maybe it my age that I look forward for life to be over, but that cause pain for my grandchildren and that’s a pain I can not bare.. so maybe I’ll find peace before this life is over. I won’t reject God but I will always ask why, we suffer.

May Allah ease your physical and emotional pain that you are facing. I can definitely relate to this as I was going through this 2 years ago. I am a stage 3 cancer survivor by Allah's Mercy. I went through the surgery and after that I decided to do zero Chemotherapy or Radiation ( after months of research and reading, I decided to refuse those options). It was my personal choice based on my readings and Alhumdulillah, I'm happy with my decision. Here is what helped me. * Duas from many, many people. * A complete diet change (no sugars at all, no dairy, no meats and no wheat. Mostly plant based and alot of raw greens and fruits smoothies), * Bitter APRICOT SEEDS (soaked over night), * Black seed oil (morning and night, read the following before drinking the Black seed oil. Surah Fatiha, Ikhlas, Falaq, Naas, Ayatul Qursi, Durood e Ibrahim). *Alkaline Herbs. I hope this can help you. I pray that Allah gives you a complete healing and blesses you with goodness and success in Duniya and in Akhirah. Ameen

When you submit to the will of Allah then later you see you feel very calm. And later you realise how much good was in it..... Another point accept this dunya is a testing place not jannah...this will put everything in perspective May Allah give us patience ,tawakul and afia.. اللهم نسألك العافية في الدنيا والآخرة. Ameen
Always say Alhamdulilla. Allah says in Quran... If you are grateful to Allah, I shall increase you in favours and if not my punishment is Severe. So I request all always say Alhamdulilla, be grateful to him. Your suffering shall decrease Inshallah.

The Quran says man's misfortune, as an individual and as a group, come from his own misdeeds, does it not? The only thing we can't understand with 100% certainty in the Quran are the allegorical parts. We should be able to understand all the fundamental parts.

The people of Kashmir are facing great tragedies. Please pray Allah raises a Mujahid Leader in Pakistan who would implement Islam in true sense in Pakistan and make the country a true fort of Islam - Aameen. Only then we would be able to crush the evil Indian forces in Kashmir in sha Allah. I use the same dua in my Salah or Namaz every day.

Lecture is good. Theoretically, not practically appreciable. Who suffers from pain knows best , not those who donot suffer. However in any unpleasant situation there is no questions of rejecting our creator. Regards.
