My best alarm clock was my cat. He would start nudging me every morning about ten minutes before my alarm was set to go off. If i hit the snooze, he would do it all over again until I was actually awake. he was free-fed, so this wasn't the cliche "feed me" bit, he wanted to wake me up to play. The only drawback was that he didn't understand the concept of a day off.

My friend is deaf and uses the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock. You put the vibrating disc in between the box spring and mattress of the bed so when it goes off, the bed vibrates to wake her up. There is also an alarm clock with an adapter that makes her table lamp flash when her alarm goes off.
