7 Weight Lifting Lego Mechanisms +Test

Ғылым және технология

Did you want a test? Here's a test for you! All Lego Technic mechanisms from part #1. No significant changes were made. If Lego mechanism doesn't hold up, I make some changes. The mechanism test stops after the motor protection is triggered (the L-motor will stop). I had to modify my kitchen scale for this. xD There are a few broken parts, which is bad, but, for tests it’s not a pity, I think… Hope you enjoy!

I know it's more expensive but if you use metal gears and axles, over time it might save you money, also you will be able to lift more.

I believe that if you college the electric motor at the Buwizz hub you will be able to lift more weight (if you want you can make a video about it) 👇Who wants this video

Of course, I understand why you are using the smallest gear to the biggest gear - to create a better ratio. But IMHO the smallest gear does not seem to handle stress very well - the teeth are too tiny. Maybe you can try to go from the middle gear to the biggest gear and then through the same axis from another middle gear to the biggest gear again. Maybe even more often. This way you can create the same ratio but you use more stable gears and spread the torque

Need to use several sheaves. You can significantly reduce the strain on the motors and gears while multiplying your lifting ability.

The strength of lego pieces is truly impressive. And when you manage to damage them, it feels horrible. Yes it's also a waste of lego but it's good it was a worthwhile sacrifice for science. But. Somehow it feels painful. Also, now that the copy legos and such are catching up to the real deal, in general quality. I would be interesting seeing you test them in strength. I'm pretty sure the genuine Legos are just straight out more durable, from personal experience. But. Would be interesting. Maybe even multiple brands. Also, Gobi has amazing sets and it does not even feel like a Lego copy, the feeling is way different. Some others too. Straight up copies are not okay, but they tend to have series so different i could never imagine Lego doing them. But. Strength. That's something to test.
