For a man who can only afford watches up to say $5000...this brand puts artistry, collaboration and fun into my grasp. I've not seen anything else quite like this...perhaps a future acquisition is in order. Thanks so much Teddy for the introduction.

Really enjoyed this one Teddy. A philosophy of watch making that doesn’t lose sight of the fun whilst embracing some true horological artisans.

That guichet dial is beautiful. But 39mm is approaching drive watch sizing, 36-38mm is more appropriate for a classical dress watch. American wrist sizes have had such a dramatic affect on watchmaking. Very unfortunate for Europeans with average sized wrists.

Very enjoyable video! These are watch ART pieces. I'll never own one but can very much appreciate the passion that goes into this brand. I have held an older model. They can be found at very reasonable prices on the used market. They are still not well known.

Great interview and CEO. @22:09 I love the Excellence Email Grande Feu II but I am conflicted when it comes to movement and WR. In that price range I do expect something in-house. Nevertheless, a great brand and I wish them nothing but the best for the future.

Probably just Frederique Constant has a Tourbillon for a human price, but LE is on another level of craftsmanship and art. Great video Teddy, it’s crazy how you keep raising the bar every time with new videos! 👏🏻👏🏻

My name is Antonio from Barcelona (Spain) and although it has been 3 years since this review, I would like to know if this watch you are talking about (but with a black leather strap), Tissot Everytime Swissmatic T109.407.16.031.00, would be a good purchase at this time. for 400 Euros new and all taxes paid. Thank you very much Teddy for your help.

What about Ba111od Chapter 4? You can buy swiss made tourbillon fromt hem for less than a half of the Louis Erard, but I still think because of the Silberstein design LE worth the price too.

As far as I am concerned one can put a beer bottle cap on a strap and claim how avant-garde it looks and wears… His or Her business… I never considered LE as a watchmaker, but as a designer brand with interesting artistic choices. Personally will never buy a watch from them, because I like Breguet, Blancpain, JLC, etc. , but I understand people who are drawn by looks and not by engineering substance.

A dial you can’t read on a watch you can’t wear? Sometimes design is its own worst enemy.

  • @Vortex1988

Sorry, but calling this an "every man's watch," using Selita movements, and charging anywhere between $2,400 - $17,600 depending on the model is absurd, especially when you consider that brands like Tissot, Mido, and Longines are using modified ETA movements.

By your reasoning design is worth less than engineering. I don’t agree with that take at all. The examples you have given are not doing anything like Louis Erard, not even close and honestly shouldn’t even be compared. Very different design outlooks, manufacturing processes, product numbers and ideology’s. A Louis Erard watch is a genuine talking point, regardless of price point and can be spotted from across the room, a truly unique design language. The same can’t be said for the large majority of the brands you have singled out. I’m saving up to buy one ❤

@@m.e.p.r Design is subjective. You could just as easily take a dump inside of a sapphire sandwich and call it unique. If you look at the Louis Erard catalogue, most of the designs are just nice looking dress watches with sunburst dials that don't stand out from the competition. Their most distinct watch looks like something you'd find in a happy meal, and others look like they copied and pasted Windows 95 desktop backgrounds onto watch dials. I'll admit that some of the Regulator models with the guilloche dials do look nice, but they're not nice enough for me to spend $4,500 on, especially when you can get something like a Christopher Ward Bel Canto for less or a Tudor GMT for around the same price if you want something more traditional (which also has a vastly superior movement btw). If I want to buy something fun, quirky, and affordable, then I'm going to Brew or Mr. Jones.

Design? Watch design comes at a cost. If you've ever had to create or design anything novel, you'll understand the time, energy, effort, and risk that goes into creating something new.

Generic design compared to creative individual design. Well the costs are going to be different. An in house movement proves nothing other than a more expensive product, plus you have to put in years of testing to get a reliable in house movement just so that snobs can say my brand has an in house movement. Absolute rot! Use a reputable and readily available reliable movement and you save on servicing, parts and cost. The real craftsmanship comes with the design of the dials, case and straps to fit a multitude of different wrists and remain a reliable long lasting product. Makes perfect sense to me!

That's very, very stupid and very ugly watches, I wouldn't spend a penny on them, I wouldn't spend anyway. Passion, what passion; Complications- I don't need complications. The watch must be simple, easy and cheap, have you seen a 3$ watch, only Chinese can manage that.
