It's not that scary because if you look in the past you can predict how people will be and/or react in the future. Also remember that no matter how stupid a show makes it seem, it can definitely happen, so enjoy the good stuff while it's around and marvel at the hilarious predictions when stuff goes bad. I hope nothing too crazy happens in the future of humanity but that would be an impossible task to ask for. Keep the internet alive and electricity flowing and I think we can be okay.

I feel the same way about the Simpsons predictions, because they had an episode about a tornado in Dayton, Ohio...I'm from Dayton and last year we had an ef4 close to 20 tornadoes at once. Their prediction was to a tee. Not about how many, but location wise. The tornado on the cartoon went through a building that said " arena" . Dayton has a building called hara arena and the tornado destroyed it.

The Zootopia one is not a prediction, I'm pretty sure that she picked the clothing for this character and then she decided to use it later on. Also, it was not a "half time performance" in Zootopia, it WAS a concert at the very end of the movie.... -.-

There's an informal logical fallacy called The Texas Sharpshooter. The metaphor is that you fire a gun at a wall, then draw a target around the spot you hit. If you write over 670 short stories about things that haven't actually happened in real life, it's practically inevitable that some of those things you make up are going to happen at some point. It's pretty much a statistical certainty, and it's not impressive or mind-blowing. It's cool, it's neat, it's fun to notice, but don't read too much into it.

That Back to the Future one isn't predicting hands-free gaming. It's referencing Duck Hunt/Light gun gaming. Something that ALREADY existed in the early 80s. In fact all this stuff is just reference to stuff that existed in some form, or was a variation on something that existed. The only exceptions I'll give are the Cubs (but even then that's just writing an absurdity for the sake of humour), and The Jetstons (but even then, that's when colour TV became a thing so I imagine it was just people thinking "it'd be cool if we could talk through our tvs").

I'm an 80's kid, and I used to tell my friends that the future was really going to be like The Jetsons, but I didn't think that show was originally from the 60's.

mdsh00 yeah but i think it was more that it was a network to connect college students specifically which is what Facebook was originally. In Friends, the program Ross is using is just for his past classmates.
