Great advice guys! We used Vamos when we first came to CR and we rented for 2 months - We did rent in advance. It was expensive because we rented for so long, but it was worth it. They had good customer service. ADVICE: I would say for people to check with their credit cards, sometimes part of your credit card perks is rental car coverage, even internationally, and you don't have to use what the rental company offers you. Just have that info with you and present it to the rental car people and they should accept it.

I mention this in the video! Even though you should have insurance with your credit card they will stay make you pay their insurance, not sure how you missed this when you clearly know we recommended Vamos?

@@TheDufresnes I didn't miss anything, I was backing you up. We used Vamos on two separate occasions. The first time we used their insurance, though it was not the extra thing that you were mentioning. The second time we opted out because we realized our credit card covered it and Vamos didn't give us a hard time.

Oh yes with vamos that's correct, I thought you meant all of the rental car places, thanks for confirming that vamos is cool with the cc insurance

@@TheDufresnes No problem. Also, I know things change all the time, so for reference the most recent time we rented from Vamos was in Oct 2023. We've since bought a car.

Thanks for these tips! I’m definitely going to try holafly when I come in a week! I hope it doesn’t rain the whole time I’m in Samara like it says on the weather app 🙄 I don’t mind a little rain but…. Lol

How long is a shuttle from Liberia Airport and Samara? What is the approximate cost for 2 people? This will be our 4th trip to Costa Rica, and i don’t mind the driving but it’s unreal frustrating renting a car. Avis attempted the 1st time to make me pay for a week i had already pre-paid with American Airlines. The next time they attempted to charge extra $700 for insurance i had already paid for. Luckily both times i had and found documentation. Just a really crappy way to start your vacation. Thanks.

Jaco? Never! Haha it's a dirty party town and isn't a true representation of Costa Rica. Anytime from now until April, better to come to Samara and stay with us at Sea Casa!

Hey! Appreciate your videos, I have a lot of take aways. Do you have an average cost for a rental car for 16 days? I am seeing quotes on vamos for $1,900 total. Does that sound right? I fell for the trick online with one of the major car rental companies near the airport and i want to cancel. Look forward to hearing from you

It's not free to produce videos so we find useful ways to help people with travel and make money. I don't see you on our patreon, so continue to enjoy our free content.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving people FREE information about great companies they can use when traveling or moving to CR, in order to help make things easier for them. If we want to let others know what products we use and why we use them so others can benefit from it as well, then we will. Most people have a ton of gratitude towards us for doing this and they thank us constantly for the help. If it doesn't pertain to you, then move on and find something else to do with your time, it really doesn't matter to us. This video is focused on many useful tips and information for others and I'm sure you'll definitely take something from it as well. After watching our videos for years like you claim, you would know that in all the 500 FREE videos we have taken the time and effort to make, they are full of useful advice and information and occasional entertainment. Don't be so ungrateful and make stupid comments towards us, and if you're going to, then please stop watching our channel or find other people to whine and complain to while watching their free content.

Nothing but negativity from you as a sad soul, no appreciation for very helpful useful information regarding traveling here. You have a weird idea of what is "real" information and what is not.
