7 Things that Suck on the SHERCO

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Before few days i did 200hour review on my Sherco, now wanted to share some stuff what i don't like on this bike. Some parts are improved on newer models like "RUBBER INTAKE MANIFOLD". Also i found on KTM models suspension is more easy to tune, special on new 2017+ models where you can with fingers adjust compression and rebound in forest. To adjust my forks i have really problem because handlebar is standing in clicker way. To fix this problem you can get Zeta aftermarket cap for fork, then its becoming same as WP adjuster.
TheDirtbikeRider STORE: teespring.com/stores/the-dirt...
By purchasing apparel from our Store you are directly helping this channel. Thank you very much because it means a lot to me.
Sherco has really amazing quality of all parts. The plastics are also good but the issue is they are too much strong what is really bad when you bend it it will break and not flex like on KTM models. But on new 2020+ KTM also there is problem with rear fender when you crash you lose everything fender and seat on Sherco that is not the case.
From my experience sherco has only small issues and some of them you can fix really cheap. For future video i have plan to make few things what i like on Sherco compared to other dirt bikes.

You can change jets without removing the carb, pretty sure you can even get them through the bowl drain plug if your slick. Bike can be bump started, odi lockons have a "S" cam for sherco no glue needed. Factory grips are beat on all bikes. Your wheel spacers are grooved like crazy and the lip that holds spacer in the seal is gone from looks of it. When they are grooved like that dirt etc will prematurely wear your bearings. If the spacers were in good shape they would hold snugly in the seal, personally i have no issues. Those spacers should've been trashed 2 sets of bearings ago lol. I clicked to see what you hated so much, these are minor details. Sherco is amazing machine!

3:10 ODI make Sherco grips, you don't have to try fitting other brand kits 4:39 No problem to turn the carb over to change jets as long as you remove the fuel tank. Agreed, the fuel tap is stupid 👎 8:40 I have not had a kick starter for the last 8 years and have never been stuck.... Let go of the kick starter bro 🙂 10:10 how is the spacer different from any other bike? 🤷‍♂️ They all just sit in the seal....

Hi, same here love the bike i think that sherco as only little things that can be resolved. So the plastics its ok, feel like the way they design it makes them break. The ktm ones break any way so for me its not a issue. The rubber intake is very important im changing mine in 150 hours. the rubber has little cracks. One thing that make SHERCO forgething the KTM was the JDM Jetting kit , and the S3 Extreme Head the 13 tooth sprocket and 50 tooth in the back, and doing the suspension because Im only weight 65kg. The adjusters in the suspension, if you change handlebar ( I have a RENTHAL 996) it gets more easy to reach the screw. Never had problems with eletric start but have to say the ktm ones are far better, but sherco still working great. Another thing you didnt talk albout was the FAN in radiators I have 150 hours and my fan starts to make some noises from the bearing, and the worst part is that you can´t fix it, and new one is like 80 euros. Keep up with your vids, we are learning with each other, and lets make sherco a bigger comunity. To end, I want to say that Sherco Factory id the ready to race bike and I already have some ktm´s. Keep up man , cheers .

Fuel shut off in a safe location and not easy to find if someone want to steal your bike. The worst for me was the starter/map buttons gets dirty very easy and dont work when connections are bad. I wonder what he would have done in the 70’s with our racing machines. Nothing was easy to do. Sorry cousin but don’t be knit picking on your machine. That stuff is simple to replace. The fork adjustment, did you truly loosening the handle bars & rotate them. This may give you enough clearance to adjust. Plastics. Husqvarna’s has issues 2009-2015 or so with front fender & the mounting bracket. Both would break without an issue, such as crashing. Shit happens. The rear wheel spacer, it seals out the junk from the bearings. At least there isn’t a certain way or side they/it goes in such S some big street bikes. The way your year & model is designed is for quick response of the frame, so there will be some spacing issues such as the radiator & the carb to the lower engine casing. Besides it is always best to remove the carb for a good inspection & cleaning prior to re-jetting. Yes their grips are hard as nails. Smart move to replace them! Please don’t feel insulting, I don’t mean to be. Just our stuff was heavy, low, reliability on some machines was so so. Transmissions failing or exploding. Hubs breaking for almost no apparent reason. The Mexican bike, Carabela, they used an Italian engine, the trans would fail at the wrong event. Porting on the 74/75 125 MX machines was off a tad causing crankshaft back pressure thus breaking the crank key for the stator. Only other issue was the handle bar clamping. They sucked. The Mexicans used a thin U bolt to pinch the handle bars to the upper triple. Always loosening up & the bars would rotate. A pain. Other than some of those issues with bikes then they were hot as hell. I did enjoy my Carabela it had awesome power. No one could beat me to the first corner for a hole shot, other than that, I was afraid of crashing & breaking something on the bike or myself. Being 15 money was hard to come up with had to have parent help, the biggest scare issue was my mother whom was a bitch. Sorry to be frank.
