The best way to ease the process is to apply an Agile/SAFe framework to improve your current process and eliminate any wasteful actions.

Our team has many experienced and highly talented members. When we generate an idea, we share it among our peers, refine it, document it. Then, we set the idea aside, because our leadership will just tell us it's not relevant. (Seriously.)

You don't need to think of packaging at the early stage of product development, branding can come in mid to late stage. For example, we don't even confirm our product's name, logo, etc till further down the track. Your packaging and branding should reflect the product, the audience and the pricing tiers, so take your time to work on them first.
