Nigel, your comment about "There is no bad light" inspires me to look for the image that I CAN find in any light conditions. It takes away the excuse for not practicing that I sometimes use: "the light's no good."
Hands down my favorite teaching landscape photographer. Have improved more from Nigel than anyone else (not counting my own time behind the camera). Thank you Nigel for your sharing of techniques and teaching us some of the more elusive aspects of landscape photography such as composition and light... Have a great day!
Beautiful photos with different lighting conditions you presented. Those waiting hours were well worth it. Great video, Nigel! Your eyes tell much about your passion for “light”. Thank you.
There is never a wasted minute when watching your vlogs Nigel in terms of quality, to the point, information, as well as just beautifully simple enthusiasm & passion for the subject. Outstandingly consistent week after week. You and Mike Browne are the shining lights of You Tube, head and and shoulders above the rest in terms of thoughtfully produced content delivering for viewers. Both Mike & yourself are natural teachers where I think other more famed vloggers are simply waffling on (Yes, you Thomas Heaton!)
The best thing about light is Nigel capturing it and helping us learn.
Wow, this is a fantastic master level class on light and composition. Your example images are perfect to emphasize the narrative as well as very motivating. Thank you Nigel.

Great video as usual, Nigel. You cannot imagine how much inspirations you've been pouring into the photographic community worldwide with your great contents. Can never thank you enough.
watching ur videos every morning with big cup of coffee. I like them very much, ur style of speaking and explaining things is great, and of course ur photos are amazing! Keep it going!! cheers from Finland
Nigel, your passion and teaching took my photography to a whole new level! God bless you my friend. This world its a better place because of people like you. You give it all and hlod nothing back. Blessings!!!
As always, great care and attention to detail in your regular Sunday episode. I look forward to these every week.
I really appreciated these tips. I'm heading out to England in a week for a month long January photofest, can't wait to use these tips. My personal favorite is your last one: Right after the rain stops. I have found it's a great way to pep up morale too after hunkering down in a rainstorm to go out and grab those mist/fog shots. Haven't done a portrait yet, hope my friends want to be subjects! (or can I borrow the puppers?!)
Thanks Nigel. You are always very inspiring and so down to earth. I watch your videos because they are very insightful but also from the heart. It is so amazing how they are put together unlike others that seem more about ego than imparting knowledge. Cannot wait for next Sunday.
Top tips and photos Nigel. I love how at 9am every Sunday you give us a great video and photos. It’s a Sunday treat 👍
Great advice on how to use the light that is there. And/Or... wait for it to move where you want it. I also understand more about the refraction of light, and its effects on what and how it illuminates it. Thanks for the lesson in using light to my images advantage in my photos. You'da man, Nigel. Keep the lessons/videos coming.
Thanks Nigel, another amazing tutorial. Love the examples of what looked like a great shot, then when the light changed made the shot absolutely outstanding. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Nigel for another splendid video! I continue to learn so much from your presentations. Your spirituality shines through your photos and your artistic process. Please keep it up!
With the fall season fast approaching us. All good things to remember about light...!! Thank you for sharing Nigel.
Love how you explained everything with an example right after. The flow of the vid was very good. learned a lot. thx!
Have to say for me, your channel and Andy Mumford's are my two favourite landscape photography channels. Simply well made, and an honest, but passionate delivery without going overboard. I'd say as a Scandinavian, a delivery you can really like. If you enjoyed the Faeros and Iceland, there is a lot more in the Nordic countries that you'll find interesting!
lots of great tips and stunning captures LOVE LOVE LOVE the beautiful pebbles image
Just discovered your channel yesterday. I love your enthusiasm and the joy of photography that comes out as you discuss your tips. It makes me excited to go out and take some shots. Thanks!
Great stuff, excellent lessons on light with examples! Thank you Nigel!
Thanks Nigel found thar very helpful I’m amazed at how you see things that makes that composition
I love watching your videos Nigel. Always educational and motivating.
This was a great video! I love how you broke the types of light, shadow, and atmosphere into different sections. It’s that magic of changing light and shadow that attracted me to photography even as a child. Thank you for posting this!
This is a serious photography video... Thank you very much!
Thanks you Nigel. I like light on your photos. You use it, especially in your miniatures of videos. Thanks for exploration in this video!
I’ve learned so much from you, catching up on all your videos! I found your vlogs about 4 months ago, and my skills have grown tremendously, because of your expertise. Thank you!!!
Your videos helped me get so much better at capturing whatever. Thank you!
Superb info Nigel !!! You manage to give us a ton of useful educational info every week and keep the motivation high despite the weather conditions !!!
Great video. I’ve hit a bit of a lull in my photography lately, but I think this has helped to get the creative juices flowing again. Thanks! 😀👍🇮🇪
THis was so helpful. You're such a great teacher. I will be watching your other videos.
I experience that sometimes waiting for the light to be change is better then thinking: “it doesn’t get any better then this”. The result was an image that did suprised me. Thanks Nigel for sharing these 7 simple, but valuable, tips
Wow! This is a master lecture about light, photography and your work. As usual, very inspiring. Thanks so much Nigel and when you have a chance teach us more about your dissertation, that sounds very interesting.
I am going to have to watch this again and take notes. There was so much in this video it could have been a two part video - thank you as always :)
Light in photograph is so fantastic! Love your photos and videos Thanks!

Great presentation, Nigel. It’s all about the light!
Another great video, thank you so much for putting all this effort in sharing your knowledge! 👍👍😀
Wow. I've just been so inspired!! Thank you 😊😊😊
Very helpful, thank you for making this.
Thanks Nigel for the best instructional video you have done ( in my opinion), .
there's so much detain in your explenation with many examples and experience not only in this video, but also in every of your video. love all of your video and keep making video like this, also great vlog and picture you have taken. thank you for all of your video and it really helps me when i shoot landscape.
I can’t believe how good you are at explaining things. Great congrats 👏
Thank you Nigel, very informative and helpful.
Thanks, so much for inspiring us all. Love your work...
Another excellent discussion, Nigel. Thanks.
Fantastic video. The excellent examples punctuate the important points you are making. I am a long time “snapshot taker”, who finally started a journey to understand what a real “photographer” is. Among other things, the best photographers are strongly aware of the impact (and ephemeral nature of) LIGHT. Now, as I drive around at various times of day, I am stunned at how different the features of my world can look. Things go.from mundane to magic (and back) in brief minutes or even less.
You sir are a great teacher.
Always genuinely informative. Great advice from a wonderful photographer.
Thank you for the lessons on light. Great examples. Hope lockdown 3.0 isn't hurting to much. Keep up the great work Dr. Nigel👏
Great information here Nigel, thank you. As a beginner it is always useful to be reminded to think about the composition as a whole ie all the elements of it, light being one. I can certainly be accused of rushing when taking photos (because I see so much I want to shoot!) and I am having to remind myself to slow down, take my time and contemplate the scene more carefully.
Great tips about light with wonderful examples. Thanks for this valuable video.
Great video Nigel. Really interesting. I love that misty/pale/pastely shot of the trees with reflection
Your videos are outstanding and this one is the best thus far. Clear explanations and examples. This is a video I'll revisit often for reflection and motivation.
Nice to find a PhD that likes photography! During my PhD, I did research on nano thin films, too. Now I want to learn photography. I will follow this channel!
This video is a MUST-HAVE for understanding light. A great tutorial I can keep going back to again and again, thank you. :)
Thanks again for your inspiration and excellent tips
Interesting Nigel, plenty to think about and practice. Thank you.
Amazing work, Adams Ansel would be jealous! Thank you for great advices and thank you for not trying be ‘super funny ‘ like most of the photographers. Huge respect for you!!!
Amazing landscape photos! you are the great,
An other great video with many helpful tips, to improve my photography!!!
Wow, I'm really impressed by your creativity! Each week you are able to produce such fantastic video, it's amazing! Also full of new knowledge. Really very good work and well produced! Thank you!
A GREAT video about Light - Thank you Nigel - Well done.
So helpful. Your perspective speaks to my intuitive side. And helps me think emotionally about my pictures.
As always very informative. Thanks!
Excellent Content and presentation, Nigel.

Very interesting as per Nigel. I’d love to see how you process the images you’ve shot directly into the sun.
Thanks Nigel, this is really helpful and informative. Due to work and life I cannot get to sunrise or sunset very often so it's good to see that you can do landscapes at midday, just thing think a differently.
Very informative and great content! Great way to start my day in NY.
Nigel......You never disappoint. Every video I watch I learn something or am reminded of something I had long forgotten. I will be 70 years old and started my photographic journey when I was 18 or 19 and still am learning. Again well done and Thanks for Sharing.
