In question number 4 I would have, as a candidate, asked if the equipment was bought on cash or credit. In practice, most equipment is initially bought on credit, especially if it's some expensive equipment.

On the first question, I would have answered 1 ledger, 3 accounts. I refer to the general ledger as where all the accounts are listed. I don't refer to the general ledgers. The basic statement that each bank account has 1, either ledger or account, is the point.

I had an interview with a CPA firm in Houston. This old-timer, graduated in 1974, got his CPA license around the same time, asked me a bunch of weird-assed scenarios that led me to conclude his clients were unethical and they should not be in business if any of the sh*t he asked me was going on. But this is Texas for you. Most small and medium business owners think rules do not apply to them.

I recently went to an interview for Sr. accountant, and was asked about why I left a company after only 5 months as an accountant. I answered honestly, I picked up most of my tasks by myself without training and was doing well, but the management didn't plan to give training on specifics of the industry and the company, and they tried to set up a new set of gl accounts while inactivating those old accounts without training to accountants nor guidelines and this caused delay and confusions and overall messy and stressful situation. But I got the vibe that the new employer didn't like my answer. What else can I say? thank you!

These are scenario based thought provoking questions that will let the recruiter know not about just the knowledge of candidate but also how they can apply it. Nice. And here we have these stupid ass questions, "your company bought an asset, pass the double entry" OR what is depreciation?

That would be going against financial reporting standards, which means non compliance, which may result in users of the financial statements e.g. banks, not putting relying on the financial statements if say the company needed a loan for example.
