My dog is a rescue. As a puppy he had been chained to a water tower in the Texas heat and fed every 3 days. The owner didn't like his energy. I have owned him since July of 2021. Every day after I feed him, he comes to me and licks my face. His way of saying thank you. He sleeps next to me at night, and is my best friend. No human comes close to this love.

How can humans mistreat animals .Don't they know .god created everything.and we should love them too..If anyone finds it hard to care for their animals.Phone the animal rescue.dont abuse them.God will punish people like that .Thanks to all those people who show love and kindness to the animals of this earth.May gods favour and grace be with you guys always . godbless.

Glad you were able to give him a forever home and give him the love he deserves. We have a rescue as well and I can't imagine not having her around... She's been the heart of our family and helped to keep us sane during the Pandemic.

It is a very sweet story. It us so nice that you have a dog that trusted you completely.

When your dog feels safe enough with you to fall asleep on your lap, or snuggled beside you, it is a sign they trust you absolutely. It is a sign of the deep love and trust that can develop between a dog an a human.

I’m a first time dog owner and I will genuinely die for him.

I said the same thing about my dog and people thought I crazy to say this. I had never felt that way about anyone, even family members. I love my family but my dog opened me up to what real unconditional love is.

I have my dogs with me almost 15 years until he’s die and i miss him until now, and always be my special in my heart ❤️

A dog has never broken my heart, betrayed me, cheated on me, been unfaithful, and never stole from me. Humans?? Well...

Dogs will always give their lives & loves to you if you treat them nicely. They give you the true love. There are no bad dogs except bad owners. Please train your dogs & they have so much energy when they are young & they never forget about you.

Sometimes in the middle of the night she will gently chew on my hand.. makes me sleep better and know that she loves me unconditionally!!

My latest dog, a male Rhidgeback, used to do something I considered a bit different but very sweet. When he was waling at my side I sometimes put my hand down and extended my curved index finger towards him. He then gripped my finger gently with his canines. Then we walked like that. I suppose that was he's equivalent to walking hand in hand.

Our Dachshund loved to rest her chin on the palm of my hand when we watch TV at night. If I try to move my hand she presses down with her chin to stop me lol 🐕

If a dog puts his head & and rubs on you. That shows he trusts & and loves you completely. Trust your dog instantly & you touch him back.

My chichi is the most loving dog. We spend all our time together. Her love for me is unconditional. There's not a thing I wouldn't do for her. I love spoiling her

My dog was from a puppy mill. I have had her for a year and she is SOMETIMES ALMOST no longer cowaring or jumpy. She sits right under my feet and follows me. Usually to the point of me stepping on her.

My pups do all of these things. Except the last one. I have a Border Collie & a Malinois, Calm & relaxed don't exist in their world 🤣🤣🤣 🐾🐾

One slight caveat. When they're licking your face, especially round the mouth. They're actually regressing to their puppy stage, and are wanting you to regurgitate your food and feed.

It’s 5th day without my dog.. My dog was living with my mom I exactly came home just a day before she passed away coz she wasn’t in good shape but we thought it’s just common thought she’s 12 years one month old . I just felt I had to go home that day! Usually she wags her tail for atleast 30min and roams with me but that last time she just wagged for less than 5 seconds and she I remembered she didn’t wanna play fetch too which she plays only when I am home. That night she left us. I still feel like she waited to see me and then leave… if I had been home one day late that would have been my life’s biggest regret!

The VA gave me a service dog, Apollo, a brown lab. I had him for 8 years and he gave me a reason to move forward. July of 2022 he passed. My mother adored Apollo and always called him “chocolate” and feed him whatever grandmom was eating. He was in my arms as he began to pass. Weeping, I said Apollo go to grandmom and aunt Mary, my older sister, and I wondered if that would be possible? But a calm came over him as if he knew what to do. This friend, Apollo, taught me how to walk again.

tail wagging can also be anxiety. just because a dog is wagging their tail, does not mean they are friendly.

One of my rescues who had been abandoned 9 months before marked me too! First time at the vet she follow the tech when called. She paused and looked back to see if I was still there. She ran back over and marked me to be sure she wouldn’t lose me 😢She has been grateful to be here every day since.

Depends. Pack animals have a 'prey mode' (hunker down and stalk their prey) or a relaxed gait. Most dogs that follow aren't looking to attack.
