7 Relationships Every Entrepreneur Has To Deal With

For detailed notes and links to resources mentioned in this video, visit www.patrickbetdavid.com/audien...
One of the things I learned very early on as a CEO and entrepreneur was the fact that I cannot speak the same language to every audience. For instance, I can't speak to my staff the way I speak to my vendors, and I don't speak to vendors the way I speak to the media. Each audience requires a different communication style. And once you learn how to be aligned with the way you communicate with them, you become more effective.
I've made all the mistakes in the world with this, and I'm probably going to make many more, but I finally developed a philosophy on how to communicate with the following seven audiences:
#7: Media and Public - 1:30
#6: Vendors - 5:08
#5: Investors - 8:15
#4: Customers - 9:36
#3: Partners - 12:10
#2: Staff and Executives - 14:58
#1: Sales Force - 17:08

The 7 Audiences of a CEO Key Takeaways: 7.Media: Have your message be aligned with your identity. 6.Vendors: Pressure and set high expectations to them because they represent and provide high value to your company, and (can) earn a lot of money with you. 5.Investors: Only care about the language of how much money you are going to bring back to them. 4.Customers: Most of them are always right. Make your customers experience better. 3.Partners: You are on the boat. Make sure they treat the customers right. 2.Staff: Expect a lot from them. Make sure your executives become leaders. 1.Sales Force: Facilitate their job because there are the ones dealing face to face with the customers.

Awesome video. I think this video is one of essencial ones. it's so easy to get lost between different audiences as everyone seem important. Pat, thanks for digging deeper and showing the true importance of people who surround you in a company. If you manage executives or sales people wrong you won't even get to have investors to deal with in The First Place. I have a question to you - sales people with a commision rates, there would you Place social media marketing, would it be in The bottom next to media or the top to sales people? and I mean close relationship with social media influencers, meaning they love your product and draw the best attention to it. :)

Can you please help me, I am working to build my own startup for past 6 months. As the time is passing, the whole world around our idea has shifted a lot, big players have made some big disruptions. Also, our plan has proved to have some flaws. How can we manage to stay focus and do some honest reality checks? Should we stick or make changes as per competition? How can we realign again and again to stay on the path? I would love to hear from your experience, could you please make a video advice?

Hi Pat My name is Allan Tomás, I am a huge fan of valuetainment because it is really helping thousands of entrepreneurs around the world, specially in Mozambique and Africa that is where I come from. I got into a discussion with my friends here and the main question was "What is the most important to attract clients? Lets say for example a restaurant, why makes a person going to that place? Is it the price, is it because the people that go there match with our personality? How can we use psychology to attract more people to our product or service?

Don't try to put up a front to the media just stay true to yourself, be hard on vendors because they can easily try to take advantage of you, investors want money most of all so talk to them with facts and numbers, connect and listen to your customers, make sure partners are up to par with your standards, staff and executives are to be micro-managed until you trust them, sales over everything because without them the company doesn't exist

You give great content but it would be awesome if you would personalise channel a bit. Because people are interested in other peoples everyday lives and environment and things that they do and how they do it. Or give some examples from your working experience and how did you solve your problems. It would sound more like a real life situations and not some theory from the books. People would connect more with that. But I appreciate listen to your channel. And thank you! :-)
