I’m mixed (almost half African and pretty much half white, idk the detailed family history but my mum is half white) and people always try to make me feel like I should forget about being mixed and that I’m white and I really don’t like that (I love being mixed and I want to actually embrace the hair I have) and I’d really like to try these styles because it would be me feel like I’m embracing my natural hair more and feel like I’m actually mixed instead of what people tell me I am when I’m not Idk if this sounds bad or like I’m saying being white is bad LMAO it came out the wrong way but basically I’ve struggled with things about being mixed and I wanna embrace it.

If your head is completely bald, like baby smooth.. Some of these styles might not stay on as well because the silk scarf is so smooth as well, so there’s no grip. But, if you have a tiny bit of hair growth, the scarf will stay. You wouldn’t be able to put the Bobby pins cos there’s no hair to grip it to. You can use other textured head scarfs that have a studier grip if the silk scarf is too smooth. ☺️

How do you keep the bandana from riding/scrunching up? Every time I try to tie the knot, the bandana won’t stay at the base of my neck and just becomes this weird extra poofy lookin a scrunchy.

Bobby pins & also use dry shampoo or texture powder in your hair. That will help it grip. When your hair is very clean or silky smooth, it can slip easier.
