As the name implies, digital nomad visas specifically target remote workers. Countries with digital nomad visas usually offer flexible terms ranging from a couple of months to a year of stay, provide multiple entries, and can or cannot be renewed for an extension.
Digital nomad visa countries also offer zero to minimize tax liabilities. Depending on which country you are applying for, you often will find that these countries do not tax your income. Most only require that you provide proof that you are a remote worker or that you have a tax residence.
And lastly, countries with digital nomad visas attract remote workers to their shores through an easy application process. Some can be done entirely online.
In this video, Andrew shares 7 Pros and Cons of Digital Nomad Visas.

Thanks, very informative! Do you know if it’s legal to work remotely while on vacation? It seems to be a grey area? Some sources say yes, because of tax treaties, not taking jobs from locals, not in a bricks and mortar building, paying taxes in home country Etc, etc… but others say no, but don’t really explain why? Also when arriving in a country most suggest the purpose of the visit as vacation Etc… but what if asked about occupation? I wonder would the entry rules state not to work while on vacation? Any answers appreciated as I’m an English tutor and I travel a lot! Best Wishes, D

What are your opinions on taxes for digital nomad visas? I know it varies per country, but for some countries like Colombia the rules are really grey. Colombia claims they tax you on your global income, including properties owned abroad if you reside in the country for more than 180 days each year. Do you think these visas are worth it if you'd be paying taxes to your home country and the country where you have the digital nomad visa?

For most nationalities, you can just show up as long you don't stay more than a year in one go. If you don't qualify or want something more permanent, +/- $100k in real estate investment can get you in long term.

one more pro of a digital nomad visa in my case is that it is a lot less beurocratic than other types of visas, which is a big plus specially when you already live outside of your country of origin (that issued all your paperwork). Plus the school for kids requires visa and kids can't be admitted on the 90 days social pass. Student visa is an option and should be straight forward to apply and get but it is very demanding when it comes to paperwork.

The words come so fast that they blur together, yet the info bandwidth is slow due to circling back to the same point over and over. Can be exhausting to decode words, esp with poor audio or english skills. Don't need glossy air of excitement, just let solid content sell itself.
