I think I know most of these stuff, but it's good that someone reminds us about it specially in all time high market. Thanks Shankar 🙂

Repetition is more valuable than what people think (me included). Repetition builds propaganda, helps us think fast and yes, gives us a stronger investing foundation. Most welcome Piyush
Thanks brother, this is gold. I learned 80% of this the hard way in my past 3.5 years in stock market. Anyone new can directly benefit from this.

Good information. However, the rebalancing of portfolio is less complicated in case of equity MFs. What if the portfolio is having stocks and a very few of the stocks (Titan like) have grown up significantly.

Hi @shankarnath Good to see you back & a very relevant video. If you don't mind me asking, what is your take on SIPs on MFs these days. I know the basic principle of SIPs itself is to invest during all the highs & the lows still asking would you continue your SIPs even now? And should we redeem partial amounts from Small & midcap mutual funds?

All time high markets may not necessarily mean all individual stocks are at their life time high valuations. In fact in any market cycle one may find great companies at cheap valuations. Re-balancing is detrimental to portfolio returns if done blindly.

Great video Shankar sir. One suggestion - you could have added one more strategy which relates to one's financial goals. Eg. If your goals are in the near future, then it might be a good time to book your profits at ATH markets.

Sale when you have chance to invest same amount to other stock . I follow this concept .
I have made most of my losses by selling early I have sold jp power at 5.5 2%, bajaj holding at 4500 20%gains, hdfc amc at 3000 50%,ntpc at 285 138% gain., exide at 180 with 5% gain when the stock could give 100%.
Finally,Good to see you back 😀

Very informative Shankar 👏 Quick question coming to rebalancing, if one were to look at debt funds for shifting gains from equity over time and considering debt funds are taxed at salary slab; does this mean that retirees are not taxed on selling debt fund units? And if they are, then what is the tax percentage?
@shankarnath

Thanks! There is no tax for 0% tax slabers on debt funds if holding period is three years or less
Thanks

I have a significant portion of my portfolio in mutual funds, about 75 percentage of my total savings. I plan to use the money for my retirement needs which is 20 years away. Half of my funds is in midcap index funds and small cap index funds. The other half is invested in nifty 50 index fund. Should I do any kind of relocation in these market conditions? Or should i just hold long term ?

Dear Shankarji, please increase the output frequency of your content. It is really frustrating not to find the good knowledgeable videos which are meant for us young intermediate level investors. All other are either beginner friendly or expert level. Kindly shoot more!
@shankarnath

Thanks for the suggestion. It's not a straight up lets-fo-it though. The issue with increasing output is a deterioration in quality. I have seen many channels go through this.

@agantuk1off
6 ай бұрын
@@shankarnath Yes it is readily available thanks for sharing. Actually what I meant was from an SWP perspective how can we allot funds with debt/equity MFs SWP for greater certainty of returns in the short term from Debt/ liquid funds and in equity for a higher holding period. The main purpose is to maximize returns and protection from short term market volatility.. by mix and match of different asset classes..
@shankarnath
6 ай бұрын
@@agantuk1off I do this often. Lumpsum monies go into a short duration debt funds (money market or ultra short duration) and the SWP happens into an equity fund of my choice. I don't look for "best returns" in such situations because eventually the money is getting deployed into an equity fund.
Hi sir, i investing past 3 year my profit grow 12℅ annually but mutual profit return is 20% Annually can i pick individual stock or go with mutual fund.
