I lived in Crystal River in Citrus County, I worked in Tampa for Northwest airlines, I made good money working on aircraft, After I retired from Delta at one time land there in Crystal River was cheap, not any longer, So I sold out there and moved up to the Panhandle of Fla, Got more bang for the Buck, Jackson County and the Town is called Alford, Good deals also in Cottondale just west of Alford, I have to drive a little more but that's ok with me, The Question is how much land do you want. I did not want to be near people that I can hear what T.V. show they are watching. So, I bought 40 acres, This worked for me and it may not work for you, It all comes down to your needs and money. good Video anyway....

The less land you buy , the more expensive it is per acre. I suggest looking at large tracts where there are zero restrictions but beware, you will likely get neighbors if close enough that will ride their noisy ATVs all around your fencing and annoy you. Buy your GREEN space to keep neighbors at bay.

I live in the Tampa,FL area myself but after many years here (46) I have bought land in southern Arizona and plan to do the tiny house thing..Cochise county has a building code "opt-Out" so you can build your own home without dealing with codes although the land does have to be a certain zoning to allow this and can't be considered residential near town..although they do seem to want more people to move into the county to ad tax revenue so I don't see them as being hard to deal with like many other places...Texas, Terlingua, Brewster county is one of the last few counties that has no code against building a homestead...you just have to have a septic tank OR a COMPOSTING TOILET which you can make easily..

Hi Chris: Yes I would check the codes with Cochise County because we sell land there and there are codes and guidelines that you must follow. I always tell everyone to call the building/planning department of ANY county that they plan to live in or move to, BEFORE buying land or property in that county. This way you know the truth as you did your due diligence and got it from the horse's mouth. Thanks for watching!

Citrus County (Inverness) is expensive and I have cash to buy outright. You are looking at $20K a acre at the very least, again the very least. There are bidding wars going on. I offered full price on 10 acres for $220K and someone else came in the next morning and outbidded me! Unless it's a swamp property is not anywhere from reasonable!

Florida has some beautiful rural and coastal areas by the looks of this...👍❤

I live here since 1972 and it gets 🥵 hot and you have to go north pased Central Florida to find land cheaper.

Finding some land that will work for a homestead is a challenge in Florida plus one that is unrestricted enough to put a tiny home on. They are out there. Just need to keep looking.

I'm interested in tiny home as well, looking for about an acre just enough for plants some vegetables and tropical fruit trees. Been watching a lot of KZread on tropical fruits trees in FL make me want to move there lol

Buying vacant land is risky in Florida (Polk County and other counties). There is a lot of land for sale that looks great and the cows are grazing but during the tropical storms much of those vacant acreage lands turned into huge lakes. Not one cow around only water! Sometimes those maps don't show that they are flood risk zones. Buyer beware. It's Florida. You have been warned.

Florida weather is very humid. Specially in the country AREA, if is close to sea.. the wind from the ocean make the place better...

I live in Gilchrist Co and bought a 3/2 with 3 bay garage on 4 beautiful acres for 125. Any of the counties around Gainesville are good choice and there is the best medical there.

The traffic is horrible in upper Florida now, it's changed so much and is full of angry driver's.

Marion, levy , citrus, highlands, Osceola, Polk, putnam counties

Anytime soon.the west coast business will come here n.ruin this coast 😭

The property taxes are like 500$ per acre Every year tho

Stay out of Walton County. It is the Most Expensive and Highest Taxed County in Florida due to all the Tourists... Spring Breakers. Specially South of the Bay, it's even higher.

Good land

Osceola county has a larger population

Its kinda hard to find the right one

Hahahaha! I wanted to know what the commute to Broward from Highland county would be. 2.5-3 hours. My animals would starve. To Orlando is about 100 minutes. A little better.

thats pretty accurate, and humid. Florida always feels like you just took a very hot shower without the bath fan on and door closed and sometimes but sometimes it feels like the door is open.
