The Irish. That's were the syncopated beat and Catholic nursery rhymes come from. The rest of it after 1968 comes from India including the dreadlocks and ritualized marijuana smoking. (The Sadhu people) I love reggae music and own an entire collection that spans forty years. Peace.

@@clangersspace2679 Nothing "wild" about my post. Irish people are the second-largest ethnic group in Jamaica after Jamaicans of African ancestry. The Jamaica accent (creole) is of the Irish accent as evident in early Jamaican folks songs and nursery rhymes especially after the Spanish left in 1670. Spain delivered the island to the British Crown under the Treaty of Madrid. The British brought the Irish as indentured servants.
