Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there are a lot of scams in the main tourist areas! Try to get outside the tourist areas as the Thai culture is much friendlier once you get out of the tourist areas!

Agree. Definitely my go-to app when I visit anywhere in Southeast Asia!

Just a short note: Lazada deliveries from China usually arrive within 1 week, not multiple weeks. Great video, thanks.

This is true. They will usually arrive within a week, but the key word is usually. I’ve also had times when it took weeks… so I had to include that information otherwise I’d be giving bad advice if there is a risk that it won’t arrive. If somebody is leaving in a week, they shouldn’t risk it.

Most should work but a couple might require a Thai phone number. I would highly recommend you just buy a Thai SIM card as it will normally be much cheaper to just swap out the sim during the trip. I will be covering SIM cards in an upcoming video!

I find Bolt is normally cheaper… but it can be harder to get a ride. I usually just check both prices.

Great video, Cal! Good tips for my visit end of this month. Qn: can you advise where should I transact in cash as well as qr code or bank transfer payments? Is there an app or ewallet that visitors can use easily?

Yeah, Bolt has credit cards now. I haven’t ordered to the airport before, as I normally take the airport rail link or the registered taxis. But I think it should be fine!

I've heard youtube premium is cheaper in Thailand, I'm moving there next month and will sign up, it more than twice the subscription here in Australia. Have you had experience doing this? Cheers.

Hi Cal, fellow Canadian here from alberta! not sure if you'll get this message but im planning my first Thailand trip to the usual suspects (bkk, chiang mai, phuket, and koh samui). was wondering if you recommend vaccines? if so which ones? also, I've been hearing SO many different opinions on Bangkok belly. specifically the ice. its safe? its not safe? etc thank you so much!

No worries. It's always better to ask. You always pay at the end of the trip. At this time Bolt only accepts cash in Thailand. They are still a bit newer, and I would guess that they will integrate card payments soon. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers

Yes, you are a real deal my friend. 555 Also Please, explain to the tourists about hiw to use the QR code to pay in Thailand too, Thai QR payment or Bank Apps or money wallet so you no need to use the real money anymore like the Thai because I heard a lot of youtubers that came to Thailand and they did a video about how to pay in Thailand but they just thought that we Thai still use the cash because most of them couldn't use their Credit Card here so they thought they only have to carry the cash and they did the content to teach people, But instead in Thailand we Thai rarely use the credit card nowadays because we all used the Thai Bank Apps and money wallet such as Truemoney, shopee pay or Thai QR Prompt Pay so you only have to scan the QR and pay and you could also use this apps to pay to most of the street venders herev too.

There are local mobile payment apps. True digital wallet, Line Pay and Prompt pay, but I believe that they all require a work permit to setup. Can check if anything changed recently. Google pay launched here a couple of years ago so should work fine.

Whatsapp is used in Thailand, but it is not too common. You may need a Thai number to register. I would recommend getting a Thai sim card as soon as you arrive, as they are very inexpensive and easy to buy! I will make a video about what you need to do the first day you arrive soon!

Yeah, Line was actually initially developed in South Korea and is popular in much of East Asia. It's free to download and use. Clothes selection is good. You can get cheap clothes at markets and certain malls like Platinum, and you can get name brand clothes at any mall, which are similar to any western country!
