The pastor at my church was a control freak

Exactly what happened to me....after building the media ministry from scratch, worked hard for 2 years. Than I went through a difficult time in my life and I couldn't attend church like I used to, I received a call one Sunday they just told me that they had a meeting and got me off the ministry they had chosen somebody else. My heart was broken to pieces, not because I was removed from the position but for the way they did it, for the way that when they needed me I was there but they couldn't be there for me at all when I went through hardship in my life. It's like what I was going through had no importance for the pastor and his team, from there nobody never came to check me out...I just got tossed away and forgotten. I was so broken that I went through depression, it took me a year to come out of the darkness of pain and guilt.

I was diagnosed with Lupus and haven't been able to attend Church regularly and i can't give to the church as i would like. I was able to attend two Sundays ago and told the pastor i was in pain, he didn't said "I will pray for you". He make me feel like i didn't matter. 😢 He compared my pain with another lady in Church and brush me off. I felt like an outcast. Nobody cares now a days, its about the money and how much can serve. My heart is broken. I feel i can't go to this church anymore. 😢

I’m sorry this happened. I had Covid last September and was out all month. No one bothered calling or texting . I don’t trust them now, although NOW various folks call or text where have you been and “You need to go to church. “ I dread going there.

My pastor talk so much n loud from d pulpit but he himself don't walk d talk... it's get me so ashamed of this pastor... Pray for me n family to find another house of Jesus....

It's so sad how church has changed. I intercede constantly...

Why are people following Pastors in the first place? I dont get it, I have never understood it since my early childhood, aren't we supposed to follow Jesus?

They follow pastors because they haven't completely open their hearts along with trust in Jesus as their truly answer. They see a man who God speaks through to present the church and too many people fall into the pastor for personal issues, instead of taking those personal problems to the true Almighty Messiah Jesus Christ and these pastors... not all.. but some can be differential than what you expect this is why I want to tell others in church do not rely on pastors there are some really good ones out there that God will speak through and then there's some other ones who would just ignore you and you got to be careful you know which ones to weed out and which not.... God bless to those who can see it. Have experienced when I asked for a prayer request and I was ignored that's when God is telling you what is going on... you'll know.

They are not supposed to follow them unless they are following Christ. All 5 fold ministry are called to build up and edify the body. Never to cut up the body, or abuse, however we're all flawed. So if you are not getting built up or edified, God may be directing you elsewhere. Once mature, you don't need to be edified as much and in fact should be edifying others in the body.

Typically when you go to a church, the pastor is one who leads the people in the church. Yes the people are to follow after and be more like Christ, but the pastors job is to teach and instruct the people on how to do that. The problem arises when pastors start seeing so much growth, they start trying to form relationships with people that will benefit them or their ministry. Example, if a doctor making 6 figures began attending a small church and he also has a business background, a toxic pastor would began moving whoever was in charge of....say....scheduling volunteers out of that position and moving the new rich guy in and making sure he was well taken care of in the church. The pastor would also make sure that person was tithing the correct amount but also putting some extra in the offering in exchange for providing extra expenses for their ministry, likely that was never offered to the previous guy. Thats why many people leave toxic churches because the pastors values no longer reflect what should be viewed as "Christ-like". Pastors start saying "Look what ive done for the community" and "Look at how ive built this church from the ground up" instead of "Look at what The Lord has done for us and he can do the same for you"

James 2:3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet This also goes for the Pastor who treats the members who go to church faithfully and tithes how they praise them and treat them better than the believers who don't attend the church faithfully or even have the money to even tithes.

So happy I "accidently" came across your channel , I needed this. I have been crying out about this , I thought I was alone, I thought this was a taboo topic. I'm so grateful for your journey and obedience. This is helping me.

That's TRUE! I LOVE Jesus. But no way Jose, I'm staying under a SPIRITUAL abuse leader. I'm writing this for the future. I know GOD is so faithful. I come in agreement with video and the prayer! In Jesus name, Amen!

Also you will be cut off if you ever question something that is said or even minor problems within the church.

One more thing, Walk in love dear Soldier of the light and Stay the course no matter what holding forth the Word of life, for one day you shall be crowned for your faithfullness and integrity.

I heard this when it first came out and it helped me so much. I find myself in this mess AGAIN, so I’m listening again. Thank you so much for this teaching. I refuse to stay in the toxic situation any longer. God Bless you!

Over 30 years ago I spotted this abuse in our churches with toxic pastors and I would give them the benefit of the doubt for only so long and then try and talk to them about what I saw . Very few times was there a restoration . It's not fun to do this but most people won't go near this type of ministry.

This goes on especially in predominately African American churches!

I thank the Lord for using you Jennifer Leclaire all what you have taught is what I have gone through.. I thank the Lord for leading me to my now Apostle who really has shown me a REAL Apostle chosen selected by the Lord for Kingdom purposes.

Amen good teaching i experience every thing you speaking on my wife and I.

I had a pastor who I told I think I was call to preach in the future. He took me in under his leadership and eventually told me he had a trial sermon set up for me. I thought it was strange cause I told him I was not called right now. I went through with it anyway because I thought the door would not open if it was not to be. After a few weeks later he told me I went to soon and now everyone is calling me minister and I don't know what to do. I left that church and started working and this is really affecting my life.

Started going to a church w elders. My favorite ended up leaving n the other 2 were sooo boring n one met up w me to tell me the drama prior to us coming. Not cool and then started PUSHING us to sign a covenant. Well I did not go anymore. Tried to get on my kids school board. 2 of the members are pastor n elder of churches here and I did not like either one’s teaching because the pastor said he chose this town because of the amount of poor people. Why!? Everyone needs God! For control!!!

My parents are attending a church where he said he was the law. The law=the word of God, the word of God was God too. Basically the pastor called himself God and told the people to obey him. I told my parents to leave that church immediately.

​@@appletherapyI listened to a pastor on television that told his congregation that to disobey him is to disobey God. He discourages getting an education and implies that the only book you should read is the Bible. If someone misses church, they are slaughtered from the pulpit. It's so sad to watch the look of terror on the faces and body language of the congregation.

what a blessing in this teaching i have been there.

I was tossed out when I can't carry out what they expected of me. Made me renounce Jesus and never returned the loan they asked me. Now I heard church has broken down. Members left and the couple who organized the church divorced and were actually sued by new members who were also duped. I was so new as a Christian and blame myself for years and I was also puzzled about the loan . If I should demand a payment or I'm not supposed to asked for it?

Wow I too dreamed of an alligator hiding in water and I was about to go in the water but my 9 year old daughter said mom don't go...I said what ?? She said don't go it's an crocodile then I looked and soon enough I saw it rise up out of hiding in the water. Thank you I never knew what this meant

Try using a lapel mic, or make a plan, there are people who will immedietly turn this vdo off (like me) coz we just can't tolerate bad, squawky audio. The closer to your mouth the mic is the better, also, avoid rooms like the one you're in, they're not acoustic friendly. About pastors? (I won't even write pastor with capital letters, that's how appalled at them I am), anytime a pastor says you must call him pastor so and so, refuse. I will never again join another church, because they're full of toxic leadership, and people. Been through 4 and they were all up the pole. Done. Never again. The main problem is ZERO Fear of God - why? Because they refuse to preach on Hell or any of the doom and gloom in the bible, just the same boring bible stories we've heard since we were in grade 1. ok i told my pastor i wanted to wear a head wrap or covering and she looked straight at me and said , You are not African! and i replied thank you for that slap in the face, no, im not, but I am a child of God being obedient to his Word 1Cor11-16. and yes, if i dont tithe she doesn't pray for me. Tells me not to eat pork to eat only chicken and turkey. And God tells her everything, where everything is, and where to go. And she goes to the throne room to pray and I need to go there too.

Sometimes I just don't want to be diplomatic, and in fact would have been more than willing to run to the street corners about these characters. The problem is their followers, most well meaning newbies lining up to do the dirty work. The problem originates with taking the lowest ranking of the 5 five fold ministry and conflating them as being all the others ... like that isn't somehow doomed to failure. Pastor is a fake word when they are fake Apostles and Prophets ... drumming the real ones out before ever setting up shop. A pastor is mostly an unqualified fake evangelist, prophet and apostle. And they get away with blue murder ... and have done so ever since the fake evangelicals elevated the ranking above its station. When pastors have sacrificed so many others to build personal empire ... can that person repent ? Can they possibly expect themselves to see their part in the mess ? The problem I have is I've scapegoated them for what their churches employed them to do. That's my fault ... getting distracted by their antics. Are there any good ones, only the prophetic pastor could have possibly survived with their integrity in tact. Transparency not freely offered says everything. HBC.

The FIRST sign is that your church has a woman as leader or pastor.... when the bible clearly forbids it. When that happens, you know you are in a social club, not a biblical church. Don't like that? Take it up with God!
