    how I grew a hair line I didnt even know I had...oil mix: 2 tubes of Virgin hair fertilizer, 4 tblspns JBCO, and 1 teaspn of the following peppermint, lavendar, rosemary, tea tree, neem, burrdock w/cayanne & ginger oils...mix together in a bowl and put in an applicator bottle...this stuff is Insane...a little goes a long way I, in the beginning I applied every other day, but then I didnt want my scalp getting clogged and my edges are back, so now I apply once a week after my first wash day...however my results were great thickness, and hair just sprouting out of no where....WARNING, no pain no gain...after applying to your scalp only your head will tingle for about 24 hours along with a hot to cold sensation, do not get this stuff in your eyes & it smells Horrible...now I have made this for others using smaller dosages because they couldnt handle my insanity...for lower dosage use 1 virgin and a couple of drops of the essential oils...Just thought I would share...I was on a mission to regrow my edges and I did it worked for me...thanks for the video I appreciate the honesty

    I grew my edges in by wearing a protective style. My favorite and basically the only protective style I wear is kinky twists. My hair is relaxed so the hair that's used to install the twists is light enough that it doesn't add weight. That's so important for me. I think the key for anyone is to find styles that don't add additional or significant weight; especially in areas that are vulnerable like the hair line.

    I wear braids and I feel that the braiders are so disrespectful to my hair that I just had to break down and watch youtube video's and learn to do my own hair. It doesn't matter that you tell these people not to braid your edges tight because they ignore you and do it anyway.

  • @honestfriend767

    I feel you, switch to crochet braids they are easy for you to do on your own, but don’t braid your edges all the way back in a cornrow, but rather do a beehive braid for your edges.

  • @cherylmks
    @cherylmks7 жыл бұрын

    The style you have your hair in right now contributes to my edges thinning. Spend some days with your hair not pulled back at all. It doesn't matter if it's tight or loose. You know generally about protective styles - right? Okay, so a protective style for your edges is when the edges are not "out." You are smart for getting the jump on this. Edges are precious and delicate and they can thin or go totally away permanently if you're not careful. There is an epidemic of hair loss in our community.

    Great video! Maintaining our edges is not always an easy process. Especially if you like switching up hair styles often. The thing that worked for me was keeping any stress off my edges (no wigs, weaves. small/tiny corn braids). I stopped wearing my hair in a puff for months and concentrated on keeping my edges moisturized (castor oil and water). I would also message my edges multiple times a day with my fingers. Drink plenty of water and rest healthy meals.

    esther o ..I know for me I massage my scalp/edges for 3-5 minutes morning and night everyday with Jamaican Mango & Lime Peppermint Black castor oil with some sweet almond oil in an applicator bottle. Then I’ll add wild growth oil to my scalp but only 2-3 times a week in conjunction with the castor oil I just don’t put the wild growth oil in the applicator bottle and it really has helped me grow some troubled areas but I still have a long way to go. P.s the castor oil has peppermint in it but I also use the essential oil as well I add more to it helps to stimulate the hair.

    Omg, I found my hair twin. We have the same hit maintenance hair. I'm gonna start doing my edges more. I tried weave and everything you said is right, along with the stylist that can't do natural hair. Lately, I've been doing JBC oil and crochet braids (curly hair). Oh, and I can't do pills either. I actually do morning smoothies with lots of vitamins. I need to drink more water. I feel like my wine increases circulation. 🍷 😍

    I just fell in love with your personality! Definitely subscribing! I am currently growing back my edges also. I love your tips, thank you! One thing I have been doing that I believe has helped is using ONION! I cut small pieces up and put them into any shampoo I have at the moment. Let the mixture sit for 15 days to activate. Then, use the shampoo as your normally would. You can even add some peppermint oil if you liked. Hope this helps anyone!

    Have you ever used the phone cord hairties? I'm not sure how well they work on natural hair, but the idea is to hold your hair back without putting so much pressure on one place. Might be worth a try.

    I had the same issue with leave out. I use full wigs with elastic bands , crotchet braids, twists and curly weaves . You can try aphogee curl reviver , but usually if you wet your hair and it doesn't curl up it very difficult or impossible to get your curl pattern back . I was able to grow out my hair quickly by cowashing 1-2 times a week and keeping my hair extremely moisturized .

    Great information! My edges are naturally thin, however, they have gotten a teeny bit thinner from wig combs. I am focusing on thickening them a bit now, just like I did my eyebrows. I use Jamaican castor oil, olive oil and peppermint/rosemary oil. I will see how it goes after a month.

    *Tips* Protein treatments = After you do the protein treatments (if you still use them) you gotta moisturize your hair after. From what I've found out and have been told by my stylist. (My hair did what you said about what your hair did after the protein treatment)There real good though they change the quality of your hair (not that thats a bad thing) and they give your hair added additives that your hair may need that its not getting in different things like age, health, care, things like that. Since you've had issues with protein treatments I suggest if you ever decide to get one done just to see how it goes.. get it done by a stylist YOU KNOW FOR A FACT DOES QUALITY AND MAYBE ALSO HAS QUALITY SERVICE. Leave outs = Your hair always needs a break. So how ever often your getting your hair done your gonna have to take a break and give your hair a rest. You look like you got soft hair so your heave out definitely cant withstand the pressures of us thicker textured hair girls with leave outs. I suggest you give them sew-ins and wigs a break every now and then. I love the hard bristle brushes. They get in where other brushes cant. You gotta know the pain you can withstand. You cant just be brushin your hair willy nilly with a hard bristle brush cause its hard. You gotta know the pain and pressure your scalp can withstand and work with that. ESPECIALLY if you love the feeling of the bristles =p Definitely use oil to get them wigs off and you might need to get bigger fitted wigs so your wigs dont be sitting on your hairline. Try getting someone to make you a wig using frontals and tracks instead of a wig already made. If not I kno your not gonna want this but your gonna have to get your babyhairs cornrowed cause they gotta get out the way if you plan on keeping them after that wig comes off. Its nothin for your edges/babyhairs to come back. OR just sleek the baby hairs back and since you wear wigs anyway have the stylist start the cornrows further back so that your babyhairs can have space to lay down overtop your cornrows so they dont get damaged by the wig AND the "protective style" you have under your wigs. Since your not a fan of protein treatments try incorporating protein powders in your regimen. That way you can get your additives for your hair and your body at the same time. It might also cut down on the supplements your taking (Killing 2 birds with one stone) You can get rid of the Rogane you dont need it. Im starting on growing back my edges. I just got 2 patches that are getting thin but im not negating my whole edge line around my whole head. I try different products but I make sure I dont negate my whole head. I also go to as many of my fave beauty supply stores also and get different things. Treatments, greases, shampoos, etc. I treat my head as a whole but I dont negate everything if im focused on 1 part. So far for my edges I've just been using the black gel (we all know that gel) to lay them down because I haven't been to my stylist to get my hair done in years (I've been sticking with braids/cornrows) BUT MY EDGES ARE STILL THERE. But of course since I havent been I gotta take care of my own hair so I've been laying them down with the black gel and ponytailing my hair FOR NOW. When I get some money and feel like figuring out where she lives ima go get a trim a perm and then go back in another month to get it dyed. But thats what I've been doing so far. (Like I said. DONT NEGATE YOUR WHOLE HEAD. Yes you are focused on your edges BUT DONT FORGET THE REST OF YOUR HAIR.) Other than that sounds like you got everything else covered!! =)

    Some good tips, U can take the wig combs out just cut the thread that holds the comb, also the pressure of a tight band or too small wig can thin your edges also especially if you wear caps on top of your wig. dryness, hair product residue, bacteria & hormonal changes are factors but lace front wigs and glue is a no no for edges

    it was 10 years in the making but after trying numerous products over the years, it was Shea Moisture Edge strength, restore and growth gel. my edges weren't bad but my left temple area would not grow. couldn't wear my hair back because of the bald spot. you need to try it. it is a miracle worker. I still use it anywhere that needs hair regrowth.
