    The way you have filmed this video is a teaching point in itself. Golden hour, with the reduced dynamic range in the scene, made it manageable for the G9 and the sky is perfectly exposed. Great work! The fact you didn’t need to do any grading in post to the Natural also shows off the versatility of the G9 / Lumix system.

    Thank you. Great tips! Regarding 180 Angle and Synchro Scan, which I do use for video: Could you perhaps think about a video to explain more about this? I am asking because when I shoot at my local music club where I am the house photographer, the LED lighting does cause banding, especially if I am using the silent shutter for stills. So, now I do 2 things. I shoot stills only at a shutter speed of 160, and I do not use the silent shutter. I would LOVE to be able to use the silent shutter. Shooting video there, I have no flicker or banding with the 180 angle setting. I just subscribed.

    Hi Irene! Thanks 🙏 I think I will make a video about flicker/banding and synchro/shutter angle. But as I am a videographer first, I don’t know all that much about the photography side of it. I think playing around with shutter speed until you find one that works is the way to go. Also, if it all possible, see if you can get the (probably cheap) LEDs replaced by better ones.

    External microphone panasonic DMW-MS 2, when recording quiet frames, the GH6 can be heard working, when I detach the microphone and hold it in my hand, it is not heard. rad gh6 - vibrations are transmitted through the microphone to the tone.

    Hi Paul! Are you talking about copying a LUT from your computer to your SD card? If so, then it could be the little switch on the SD card. It’s a switch to lock the card. Check if it’s set to open

    Thank you. very useful. The LUT Library link is great. I wanted to ask would the LUT "NICEST" be the one I use for basic in general vlog? I use GH6. There is a lut going around called Vlog to Rec 709. I thought that it was an official lut but I don't see it in the post grading library. I assume these Vari Cam V log luts are good for GH6 too. Thanks.

  • @RedFrameTech

    @RedFrameTech

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks 🙏 The Vlog to Rec709 LUT you mentioned is indeed not Panasonic’s. It does work quite well though. The Nicest709 LUT is a good conversion LUT and makes a good starting point. But it does always need tweaking. The Panasonic LUT’s work well for Vlog on the GH6 because it has the same curve as the Varicam’s Vlog

    Hey Nice Video, Still Rocking on G5,5s on just purchase S5 instaed of GH6 because I have more jobs towards Photography lately. I will buy it probably soon. One question how is the quality of open gate in more compressed format?did you notice any spectacular loses vs prores or the better codecs Long Gop vs Alli vs prores. Shooting a lot multicam I landed always on the long GOP and Braw Q5 12:1 compression because of the gigantic size you got with less compressed format. I hope they will ad soon braw to the GH6 as well as record over ssd. The Cexpress B card are better than Cfast price wise but still expensive. yours Fil

    A question Sir! Does the GH6 have the option to record at a specific amount of FPS and give you a final file, for example, at 23.99 FPS, just like the Bmpcc? without the need to do it in post

  • @RedFrameTech

    I think what you’re talking about is what’s called variable frame rate on the GH6. You can shoot in, say 180 fps, and it slows it down in camera to say 23.976 fps. If that’s what you mean, then yes. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks a lot for this super information. It really makes it easier to work with the camera. However, I have another problem, which I can hardly explain. I was out on the town this week and wanted to take some nice shots (5.7k 4.2.0 10bit MOV). So far so good, but.... When I edited the video I saw something in the footage which I find strange. I filmed the houses of the city against the sunset light. At the edge of the house roofs, everywhere where the sky was overexposed, there are subtle bars of light along the roof. If it would be possible to send you a photo of that, that would be really great. Because explaining this problem to someone well without a photo of it is mega hard. I have now already spent several hours on youtube and google to search for a possible solution, but unfortunately found nothing. I am on the verge of despair. Thank you in advance and hope for a hopefully pleasant feedback.
