Sometimes you get that lesson where you barely practiced and somehow played it good, hits different

And sometimes you get that lesson where you spent hours upon hours practicing and honing your technique, and yet, it still manages to sound like you are touching the piano for the first time in your life. Hits different, too, but not in a good way.

@@zord90x58 OMG IKR, i swear its every instrument. a few years back i actually played banjo. so anyways one day i had a lesson where i had practiced quite a bit but then literally could not play the song. then I DIDNT PRACTICE THE NEXT WEEK AND PLAYED IT PERFECT AT THE NEXT LESSON.
This video has made me realize how good my current piano teacher is. He’s never rough on me and is very easygoing, I appreciate him a lot. My old piano teacher didnt really get me too engaged in the piano and make me learn the history about the pieces or the tempo and dynamics, and for that reason I think I would slack off more (its also worth noting I was younger then, so it might’ve been partly my fault-). I now enjoy the piano and music in general WAY more(often I’m very excited to have the lesson), I like playing more piano outside of practicing my homework, and it just goes to show how important teachers are. If you are never engaged, you’ll never play as well as you could be playing.

Mr. Mo played the piece before it was even composed. Seems like Chopin copied something! 🤭
You missed the part where he stares out the window and rambles on about not knowing why he left his great motherland and came to work in a country filled with softies and hollow western beliefs.

number 4 is accurate... my piano teacher will go on about how a specific note in the piece needs to be more emotional or like an orchestra and more like something or whatever, and i try my best to understand what exactly she wants but then she finally just told me to hold a specific note a bit longer and it all made sense.. idk why she didnt just say that the first time tho :(

Then there's the lesson where you practice a lot at home and you think you've made a lot of progress, then you come to class and it all goes out the window...

felt level 3 especially with that section 😫 getting the opening perfect was definitely the hardest part to understand when i was cleaning the piece up for performance
Bro, you described perfectly how my piano lessons are, but it motivates even more to practice and the success feels much better when the teacher agrees with your interpretation in the end.

Ahhhh of course.
With students being so busy and having distractions like video games, I’m just happy when they practice and can pay the correct notes with the correct rhythm. Baby steps.
"No practice, no video" That's great. That earned this video a like. Good thing I already practiced today so I'm going to watch another video.
4:28 I really like the interpretation of this section.
I used to practice for 8 hours a day. Then I shattered my ulnar nerve, had to spend a year retraining my left hand to function somewhat normally and now can't play longer than 15 minutes before my hand inevitably cramps up very, VERY painfully! Ah, also two of my fingers are numb forever so I can't play as accurately or as fast or as well ever again. Go easy on the practice is what I'm saying.
As someone who has a russian piano teacher, i see this very relatable
Such a relatable video! I used to have this teacher who taught me to do way too many hand movements when playing. A few years ago, when I moved, I kept having to fix my technique, such a pain
So much fun to watch how you make fun off and fun with your amazing piano skills.
This is the piece I'm learning right now. For sure one of my favorites. Great performance also😍
I love your style of playing and the pieces you pick ! Found your channel through your amazing Rush E performance. Subbed, can't wait to see more of your beautiful works!
i’m just appreciating that everything the teacher said was un-ironically accurate despite the satire
Thank you for starting more consistent uploads again! I missed your videos so much ❤️❤️
He's making things sound and look too easy to play and at the same time He's so good
Lmao i love how accurate this is with my teacher, step four is insanely accurate. My teacher said something like: You are in an empty forest with no colours, try to give the trees colour so that the little animals can spawn and eat each other up. And i was like what the fa-👁👄👁 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

As a College pianist this is TRUE!!!!!!!! in our private class lol.
Why was I so happy when he said well done 😭
Why can I relate so much to this
don't you guys just hate it when you play the piece perfectly and then when the teacher tells you to play it again you just mess up.
I love your videos lol
Mustache finally falls off after 297 years lol
I actually quite love practicing the Ballade no. 1 Coda.
LMAO i've actually had that hour-lesson on the opening of this piece, it's so rough when your teacher starts talking about your TONE bro put it in words pl e a s e
teacher demonstration is so accurate
I laughed through most of this video!🤣
Am I the only one who respects a teacher who is a little tougher on their students? 🤣
Ah yes.. Learning Chopins first ballade with my teacher... I can so relate with the teachers pain
When I haven't practiced, I just try to talk about nonsense and prolong the conversation as much as possible.
Woah woah, I see another Chopin bop coming!!!!
Excellent 😅👏👏
this is so accurate my teacher sight read revolutionary for the 'quick demonstration'

ayyy i’m practicing this piece too😄i love the coda but my right hand literally gets stretched in five directions every single time i play it
@StevenPJames-fl1un

The trick is to spend less effort "stretching," and think instead about centering your wrist over the most comfortable position at any moment. The coda is certainly tricky, but it's a real trap for pianists who haven't mastered the kind of technique needed to play, say, op. 10 no. 1.
