Watching him you feel his sweat and heat. He gave us all his soul each and every time and was humble about it and grateful. He was the gift that keeps on giving… forever.

You were extremely lucky. I envie you. As an European I never had the possibility to see him here. I also wasn't a fan until I was in my fifties, about 20 years ago. I became a fan after accidentily seeing an Elvis' fragment on t.v. and it then suddenly struck me Elvis had "something". I started to by cd's, films and books and since then I have been a fan. Elvis Presley's singing gave me great comfort and joy. I do not understand why Elvis only got 1 grammy award. My heart breaks when I think of the way he was mistreated by a lot of the people around him. First and foremost Tom Parker and Priscilla B., the evil allies.

Thank you for your comments and as a professional singer myself, on the side at least, I have to say that initially until really getting into Elvis' catalogue, I never realized how great of a singer he actually was. While, today, given all the genres he was able to sing, no one has convinced me there's ever been a singer able to cover the full spectrum of music so well. And as I said, above, he was quite literally a one-man quartet able to sing countertenor/treble, alto, tenor and bass, all without any formal training. Allow me to wish you well on your career, too, and if you would like to let us listen to any of your stop I will do my best to both support you and have others do so as well. I am so afraid the newer generation doesn't realize what a fantastic singer Elvis really was. He was a true genius of music and singing. His mature voice was different from his beginning which most younger people have only heard. Wish they would listen to his later music because I cannot think of one singer ever who can compare. He was /is the greatest entertainer the world will ever know.

God gave us his best for awhile to teach us how to be and appreciate life. Elvis was not only an amazing super powerhouse he was also a very good amazing person. His heart was as big as heaven and he NEVER forgot where he came from and that is why even until death and now beyond, he gave and continues to give 100% of himself. Thank you God for sharing him with us. He will forever be cherished 100+ years from now. 😢❤

It is amazing just how incredible Elvis's vocals were, powerful, smooth, raunchy, even operatic and he could sing anything in so many different genres and styles and completely master them all, this is UNIQUE to Elvis. In all my years I never heard of any other artist who could pull this off, or do it so well. Most artists seem to be suck in one vocal style but Elvis could bust out into anything. The man was in a league all of his own. Seems each passing year people are beginning to realize just how special and different Elvis was, we won't see his like again. Incredible man!

Hello from England Elvis had the complete package THE VOICE THE CHARISMA THE STAGE PRESENCE and THE SWAGGER And He was such a beautiful human being You listened to him sing and he would melt your ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️ He was a breath of ‘fresh air’ I was 12 when he died - his funeral was on my birthday 18th August My taste in music is the 60’s Elvis is the best but also I love Tom Jones Can you imagine if Elvis had toured the UK he would have been shown ‘a good time’ by Tom as they appreciated each other For me the music industry of the last 30 years is full of fickle so called artists that just record in a studio and would not be able to cope touring in this day and age and tech can manipulate their voices Also that Horrible AUTOTUNE Back in the day people like Elvis sang live👌🏻👌🏻

tom jones was an incredible singer, in my opinion could rival elvis in terms of vocals but i also think elvis edges it for me simply due to the wide range. you'll find tom jones sings the same way in most of his songs (which is no problem because its wonderful) but one elvis song can sound like a lullaby and another one can sound like hes giving everything he has.

Elvis had the most incredible sound even in his early stuff like: that’s all right mama, all shook up, don’t be cruel, heartbreak hotel, and a whole pile more. I recognized that when I was eleven years old. My father, said to me “son, I’ll give him a year and you won’t hear about him again.” Boy was that the greatest error ever, ever made! As a footnote though, my dad, bless his lovable heart, bought me all of these records and more. Love you dad. Will soon be joining you and we can revisit your comment and have a good laugh.

Totally agree, try 1977 June 21st Unchained Melody, he goes from at the beginning slurring his speech, totally stoned talking about the song, as soon as he touches the piano keys and starts singing he's a totally different man, he hits notes at the end when he goes into the "Oh my love and holds the notes for a good 5-6 seconds which is totally operatic and then hits falsetto at the end. Note: listen to the undubbed version of just Elvis and piano, no other instruments

In the song Heart of Rome Elvis hits an A4 with chest voice 4 times in the last chorus. That song is a beast of a song to sing, I'm an Elvis Tribute Artist and I can sing pretty much all of his stuff with ease but Heart of Rome is one that I have tried and tried but not been able to get past the key change in the final chorus as on a good day I can reach G#4. All the choruses in that song Elvis is up in the rafters just belting it out, it's quite amazing. I highly recommend checking it out.

I don't think Elvis was a trained singer. He sang in church choirs until he left home for singing on the road and the Louisiana Hayride. His mastery of his voice is just his God-given talent.

You mentioned that "Jailhouse Rock" was almost like rapping "Too much Monkey Business" or " A Little Less Conversation" are examples of what might be described as rap today. I think a song that really demonstrated how incredible Elvis's voice was is "What now my Love" from the "Alloha from Hawaii" concert. It was so spectacular that I believe that this is the moment that Elvis moved into the opera spectrum of singing, proving that he could sing absolutely anything.

This is an impossible task. You made some incredible selections. Jailhouse Rock is very underrated as a difficult song to sing. His ability to sing both raspy and beautiful at the same time is amazing. Also, many don't take into consideration how precisely he sings every word and no word is wasted. Incredible. The 1961 original of Can't Help Falling in Love is a thousand times better than the 1969 (or any) versions. Other great selections would've been: Blue Moon, Such an Easy Question, Surrender, They Remind Me Too Much of You, Because of Love, Hurt (Live) and many others.

Elvis admitted in an interview that he seldom sang "Kentucky Rain," because it was difficult. Not so much in high notes but in the varied tones required throughout the song. Worth checking for next time, Crazy Singing. Thanks for this one. Very informative & deserving of a more detailed analysis when possible. "Tomorrow Never Comes," yes, what a performance that was. A bolero-like song that just got more & more powerful to the crescendo.

I can hit every note here but that's only half the battle...its making it sound good too. Elvis did that in spades. My highest is Bb but that's my absolute limit...and I sound like a cat. Then there's consistency too. Some days I can hold and sustain a high A and other days my voice will just give up and give out every time. No way would I be able to go out on a stage night after night and have the confidence to even try some of his high notes. Elvis just went about nailing it whenever he wanted 😅. On top of this Elvis's range went even further. I'm pretty sure I heard him hitting a high C live. His voice was crazy.
