Grasser dress definitely in that beautiful fabric ❤
I prefer the Grasser dress for your gorgeous fabric. Great vlog, thank you; I really appreciate the time you put in when researching these patterns.
Grassed 93 is my vote.
Sending you lots of sewing time 🪄😂. Beautiful choices. Cannot WAIT to see you in that backless dress it’s going to be a stunner!
I vote for the grasser dress in that lovely black-background print. The extra length of the dress will really showcase the fabric drape and print and make it stunning.
Some fab ideas Tamlyn, the backless dress will look absolutely stunning in the fabric you shared 🤗
Great list I like the grasses better for print or the plunge maxi
the en grasser dress would look stunning as your second choice :0)
Lots of fun patterns and gorgeous fabric, thanks for sharing. 💙🧶🌈🍓
Wow Tamlyn those are some cute dresses and lovely fabrics. I love the backless dress alot and your fabric choice is so pretty. Can't wait to see your makes.
Hi Tamlyn, i think the Helen’s closet dress would be really nice in that fabric
Top notch selection. The drama of the fabric you’re considering for the 2nd dress would probably suit the Grasser pattern more than the more casual feel of the Orchard from Helen’s Closet.
Lovely choices Tamlyn! I’m actually making the Val dress for my Sew Frugal entry too! I think the Grasser pattern would be perfect for your Tiger fabric. The Orchard dress is nice but not as much of a maxi length. I’ve lengthened my Orchard pattern and added slits to the sides. Happy sewing! 💖
Great choices Tamin, but the Grasserie No.93 pattern in that amazing fabric you showed would look awesome on you, so I do hope you make that one at some point. Thank you for the time & effort you put into making the video & for sharing.😊
Thanks for the inspiration. Love your first choice - can't wait to see it. I've had the Peppermint Maxi Dress on my to do list since i started sewing - so will give that a go in maybe a raspberry linen.
The backless dress in that fabric is going to be stunning! Perfect pick for your primary make. For the secondary, it's the Grasser for me with that fabric. The Helen's Closet dress is nice, but I think that fabric deserves something a little bit... more... and the Grasser dress has that. Good luck with both (I hope) of them, and looking forward to the reveal.
Love these! I’m not taking part in sew frugal this year because I just didn’t have any free patterns in my plans and I have *loads* of plans! But I’m very inspired by all the videos
The orla dress has been in my "to make someday" list 😆 for a long time! seems lovely Thank you!!
I’m going to make the same dress for a trip to Spain. Thank you for the wonderful selection. I can’t wait to see your dress.
Grasser dress has your name on it for the tiger fabric. Great choices as always. 😊 Lynne
The backless dress is perfect for your style Tamlyn. I think the second one should be the grassa 93 if you have time. Though any of those styles would look amazing.
Lovely dresses ~ you will really suit the ones you have chosen
Gorgeous selection Tamlyn! I think the Orchard dress in that lovely black jungle would be divine ❤ If only I could send you a few extra sewing hours 😊
Great options! I can’t wait to see your backless dress! I think I’m going to make the orchard dress for sewfrugal. If you make one I think that dark leaf/ tiger print would look amazing! X
I love the Grasser dress for your beautiful fabric! I can imagine how fantastic it would look made up. Probably my favourite of the lot, particularly in that fabric, with the second last pattern and your first choice being tied for second place. You found some gorgeous patterns!
Grasser in tiger print
Ooh the grasser pattern is lovely and yes I downloaded it as soon as you showed the photo,so inspiration thank you tamlyn
Some gorgeous inspiration Tamlyn. The dress with the amazing back detail would be wonderful on you 💕
Lots of beautiful patterns to choose from, thank you. Look forward to seeing your makes.
The Val dress looks stunning and it can be formal dress depending on the fabric you use.
I really want to make the Orchard so would love to see you make it! I think it would be so good on those hot days where you need something light and floaty and it’d look gorgeous with the tiger fabric. Plus it’d look cute layered over a tshirt ☺️
Tamlyn I love the Grasser dress for you! Also, let me know how the Val dress goes. I’ve been collecting patterns with my name for a possible series idea and I’ve had that dress in my folder just waiting to be made 🤗
I love your plans specially the fabric for the second dress. Both will be stunning.
Ooo loving some of these dresses. 😍
I love the 3rd one too 😍
from the mrs: Great free pattern selection and fabric pairing. Looking forward to your makes.
Thank you, Tamlyn! Love your selections of free dress patterns. I know how time consuming, searching for patterns, let alone free patterns, is.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful dress patterns!
Well having seen the last frames I feel I have to choose!! I think you like maxis so would go with the longer dress BUT I always feel shorter dresses like the Helen's Closet pattern get more wear. The sweep of the fabric will be gorgeous for either. Plus I might let how I feel the first make goes to determine my choice - maybe there is something from that pattern which would sway you towards the Helen's Closet brand which you say you have made a few of.[If that makes sense? I'm saying how easy is the first make/how does it fit etc to guide you on making a second from the same company or not - phew ..]
Oh my goodness, that Val dress is going to be so stunning! Can't wait to see it!😍
Fabulous collection of dresses, the wide strap maxi is great to make up, mind there’s French seams but so worth it ❤
Thank you so much❤❤❤❤
I had a lot of trouble with the Peppermint pattern - I’ve put the straps on three times.
I think the Grasser pattern is the best choice for your lovely fabric. The fabric and pattern are both floaty, whereas the Helen's Closet pattern can even use a linen or cotton lawn and still look gorgeous, and doesn't necessarily need a floaty fabric, so you have lots of options for fabric to make it out of at a later date.
Thank you, super patterns. Love your plan!
Your fabric for your first choice is gorgeous and I would love to see you use your other beautiful fabric for the Helen's closet pattern. I have that one. Thanks for sharing Tamlyn. xx Karen
oo this was super helpful because I am new to sewing in general and have never sewn a garment before. I've only made bags and aprons with cotton so having garment patterns that don't use a stretchy knit is perfect for me to start with I think!
My craft room isn't set up for me to sew right now so I'm sending you all my sewing time lol.
Wonderful, very succinct vlog Tamlyn. Both would be fab in the jungle print however I know you would get much more wear from the Helen’s Closet. Just find yourself little pockets of time here and there, you have done it before. ❤
Looking forward to see you make the dress from the fabric store. It has lots of patterns, yes, and it gets recommended allot, but I rarely hear of anyone making and telling how it worked out. (same for mood)
Than you for a great vlog Tamlyn. I've chosen a couple of the patterns you showed us, I just need to sort some fabric now. I love your choices and can't wait to see them made up.
I made the Orla dress last summer in a cotton lawn and wore it loads. I couldn’t believe it was free as the instructions were excellent, just as you would expect from a French Navy pattern. I’ve already planned another for this summer. The backless dress would look amazing on you
I’m loving the dresses you are going to make, and definitely you 😀 I have my notebook with me now when watching all the sew frugal videos as I hasn’t heard of three of the companies you suggested ❤
Lovely dresses! Have had the orchard printed out since last year but the grasser one looks good too (although I don't fit into one size on their chart) That tiger viscose is incredible...please sew it!!😍
I did not know there was a service available to convert to A0! I pass on most patterns that are not available in A0.
hi you should also try mood fabrics, thy have over 300 free pattern (fabric society)
I think all of these would be fabulous and especially in that fabric! I've made the Orchard dress from Helen's Closet and absolutely love it. It truly is effortless and easy to wear, but this seems to be the vibe for all of the patterns you chose. Excited to see what you end up making!
I forgot about that low back dress on the fabric store. I just picked up a beautiful linen rayon blend that would be fantastic!
❤
Hey, the orchard dress is lovely, the fabric for the backless dress will look so stunning on you. Love your out clips at the end. Sending you loads of sewing time 😘
Sadly, Grasser Patterns is a Russian business. Using a free pattern won’t affect the invasion, but purchasing patterns from either Grasser or Viki Sews provides Russia with both hard currency and tax revenues to pay for weapons to terrorize and brutalize Ukraine. I hope you’ll consider boycotting these two companies going forward. In the face of overwhelming international events, it can sometimes seem so hopeless for an individual to make a difference. Purchasing is one of those small things we can all do. Thanks for listening and sharing your creative journey with others.
