It's definitely not slate. MDF or plywood or plastic, but not slate. Cheapest Slate tables are over $2000 USD and you can't fold the legs up.

Hi Icemanmodeler, Playing in this table has been pretty good. I needed a pool table that I can put away because I don't have an indoor space for it. It was easy to assemble using the instruction manual provided. Balls roll great and cushions are really good as well. I bought Aramith balls since the balls that come with it are not that good. The new balls roll faster. Also bought snooker cues since they are 2inch balls. The cues that come with it have 13mm tip and too big for the balls and are sh*tty so I recommend buying your own. I have graphite cues which are absolutely awesome because there is minimal deviation when I put spin on the cue ball compared to a wooden cue. The only downside is since it has no stable base, if you nudge the table the balls will wiggle a bit but still stay in position. If you need a table you need to put away after playing this is a great table to buy. If you have a space for a table you might want to buy a fixed one. I bought this around AUD $578 and shipping was around AUD $270 (since I live in Perth and it comes from NSW or VIC). Overall I would rate it 7/10. Hope this helps. Cheers mate!

@@palmsports24 Cool thanks for the detailed description, my brother has a similar table, looks identical but i think different manufacturer. @@palmsports24 Got the table, it's pretty good for my needs, i do need to replace the cues it comes with, they don't have a rubber tip it's just wood, the balls are too heavy so i will replace them eventually, i did notice after a few days of playing that the balls have some holes and nicks on them and i wonder if it's because of the white plastic caps on each pocket. Those white plastic caps are pretty hard, i also have small space so i may need to get a small extension, the cues as they are are a bit too long on most shots anyway.
