Easiest way to get THE BEST LOOT... Max out your scavenger skill and the Quality Joe skill. Quality Joe boosts the quality of items found by 25, 50, or 100 and scavenging gives you better chances at finding better loot. Hands down the best method. I find purple 600 quality items ALL THE TIME!

easiest, best, and really the most rewarding way to level up weapons is craft arrows or crossbow bolts. What i do everytime i start a new game is go collect as much feathers as possible. Set it to craft all of them and when you finally craft your bow it's already at least in the 100's. I usually craft 250+ arrows and it gives me a bow 250+ and also the method you're using for the weapons works best for tools. However, as you noticed the higher level you get with crafting anything, the lower level items like stone pickaxes wooden clubs etc etc the less likely they are to increase in level. So you're actually wasting a huge amount of time and resources crafting wooden clubs when you could have crafted say an iron spiked club that will give you more quality points. In the case of tools, if you craft an iron pickaxe instead of the stone pickaxe after about 300 then the iron pickaxe will give you an increase of 1 or 2 quality points versus having to craft 3+ stone pickaxes to increase by 1 point. Once the pickaxes are crafted just scrap them and start over. You're not wasting too much iron. Once iron pickaxes are no longer increasing at least 1 point per craft then move up to steel pickaxes. But with weapons the best way i find yet is like i said just craft a ton of arrows. once you find the crossbow schematic then craft a ton of bolts before crafting the crossbow. You can easily find 300+ feathers in the wasteland in a matter of 30 mins to an hour. So in 2 hours (with collecting stone and wood) you can have a weapon level of above 200 or 300 before the first day ever ends.

Also, for gun smith craft as much gunpowder as you can easy to find coal and nitrate on the surface while looting around keep all the paper you find you'll always find a boat loads of it then just use gunpowder paper and small stones to make blunderbuss ammo quick and easy way to level up gun smithing. I recommend crafting gunpowder as early as possible cause it's a easy quick way to level up as your collecting nitrate and coal for it

crafting arrows will get your weapon level up fast, also they stack, having a lot of arrows in the beginning of the game will help you a lot.

Are you dumb? You can walk pretty much anywhere and get feathers from bird nests. They give eggs and a good amount of each.

Can also just craft arrow heads at the forge, simultaneously craft those into arrows and double up on xp. Alternately you can just melt the arrow heads down and keep crafting for the xp

Another idea to get weapons up is to craft "Arrows". (Upgrading as needed) they can stack to 250. For gunsmithing "Gunpowder". Tools of course stone shovel, misc crafting (wood spikes). For the disposal you can just shatter the chest that you put all the items in (it will destroy the contents instantly). Start with tools first though and try to get access to a forge as soon as possible so you can just mass harvest wood and stone. At day 21 I'm already at 79 mining thanks to it and I can destroy large trees in 6 hits and stones in 2 hits (using the proper tools of course)

For any new players, crafting arrows is better for leveling up your weapon smithing.

hi great tip i would just like to say i got my weapons up to purple faster by making arrows plus doesnt take up as much room in your bag

As far as getting high level items I usually use the workbenches and combine them to up the level

if you put a wood frame under the chest when your done with the chest you can take the frame away thus no mess

Mine rocks to get iron, dig to get clay. Stock up on 3k wood for fuel, 1k iron ores, 1k clay, let it smelt... while you're waiting for smelting process, go get the same amount of resources again. Come back home and afk while you smith all the iron arrow heads you can, keeping the forge menu open. This will power lvl your weaponsmithing much quicker and less tediously.

The best way I've found to level up my weapons crafting skill is to mass craft arrows as they stack up in the inventory so you don't have to constantly remove them

dude, there are some many better ways to lvl up tool & weapon smithing. doin the whole wooden club thing takes ages and gets you nowhere, just make arrows or bolts. at least you don't need to throw that stuff away, plus you'd get double the exp if you first craft iron/steel arrowheads. for tools just make an anvil in your forge, gets you about 1 lvl per anvil up to lvl 45. then just don't scrap the anvil but put it back into the forge for the next one. really cheap to do at ~1 lump of clay/anvil

The workbenches are incomplete and fubar on Xbx. It's not the same as PC. I also tried to use the garage doors and they are fubar too.

If you have 2 of the same items you can combine them at workbench and make them a stronger higher tier weapon or tool or whatever it works with a lot of things its amazing lol

Instead of what he did you can fill chests with the thing u want to level (armor,tools,weapons etc.) and after a couple chests full instead of breaking it take all and scrap all the things for most of the recourses back allowing you to craft more

There should be a setting in the main setting menus to show where the bike is on the compas

You could also scrap the clubs in early game to get some mats back and get more out of the club than just wasting it

what i do i i do that same strategy but i don't use chests. In my world i wait until night and gather as many recources as possible and while they are crafting i press triangle and also press right arrow

i actually have a question i am on like day 40 and now i have invisible zombies i can not get rid of them there stuck right outside my house AND ITS a screamer so she attracts other invisible zombie normal zombies spawn on the map when i go away from my house but every time i come back she pops up eventually i dont know if she is stuck in the mine i built under my house i have looked every were i dont get hurt my anything but i can hear like 20 zombies all around me

My man I’m on day 12 and I have almost max in half my skills

i found that digging gets you the most xp, because then you craft gunpowder and bullets and you can put levels into other skills. but thats just me

if you hover over an itemin your inventory and press triangle(on ps) you see a little menu next to the item description with the possible options like throw away, scrap, use, eat/drink or for clothes wear also R3 is used to quick-transfer single items from or into chests or your toolbelt in case someone didnt know.. me at least it took quite a while lol

Currently on day 65. I just kill zombies and go to trader to improve my weapons and tools. Character is lvl 140 (selling gives a lot of exp too, plus I mine when I'm not killing)

Instead of just putting them in a chest, destroying it, and letting them despawn. You can scrap them and get wood back so you're not losing all your materials.

don't read this if u like the searching part of the game and crafting but it makes it easier to do stuff me and my friend found a dupe glitch if u get somebody to throw stuff in a chest and then get out go back in and grab the stuff then break it btw the leader of the game has to break it it will give the leader the stuff in the chest and the person grabbing it then you just keep dumping the stuff and getting more so you can dupe the materials used to craft guns and craft them gives your weapon smithing xp bar to go up by half every time

my game crashed on a minibike and lost it too... and it was literally like less than a minute after a friend of mine jumped on the game to play with me and jumped on the other minibike and rode it straight into the lake within 30 seconds of hopping on it.... >_< He is not allowed to play anymore LOL!

Oh... i forgot to add... this was right when I was raiding a tool store I found and was all happy, cuz I needed calipers and was excited that i might find them... He was like, "I'm going to help you!" he ran in there, found the calipers while I was searching... ran outside, tried to fight a bear for god knows what reason... hand to hand... not even moving... just standing still and swinging LOL! died, gave him a minibike to go get it.... crashed it in the lake.... then he ran out and got his inventory that was dropped, brought it back to my base, threw them in the forge and turned it on for some odd reason.... and he put them in the spot to melt things down.... -_- He is no longer allowed near my game anymore LOL!

dude you can just use the workbench to combine two of the same item to make a higher level item....i get max level tools and blunt weapons by day 20 half the time by doing so...

fastest way to lvl is building and upgrading a house, day 20 we had 600 tools cause the let me build n upgrade.

Videos like this are great, b/c if there IS a better way to do something the trolls will flame mercilessly about it. So either way we get the latest info. 😉

Wood clubs? Pfft. Just go make a bunch of gunpowder. 2000 gunpowder is about 17 levels of gun smithing, it's easy to make and you don't have to worry about inventory

Guys I just started I just beat day 21 horde with ease I have level 200 bows and tools and I use about 30 spikes each horde

NonFat Booger yeah I was gonna cry I had like 31 barrels of gas and other things on my bike then it crashed I was like Nooooooo I was standing over the bike icon but it was in the ground lucky for me I was near a cave I just made a storage chest made room and jumped down and grabbed what was in the basket then took apart the bike in pieces dug my way out like a trapped animal ...it was like 15 block deep and steep asf I broke my lag but I just healed myself and splinted my leg with my bandana I had on *epic

when your close to purple u craft like 24 per level

wooden frame with secure chest on top. once full take frame. clear wooden trash. repeat. warning: chest falling creates mass at times n can destroy your buildings. I lost 3 mines trying to figure out why but it's long to explain so just on dirt or roofs.

for clubs use in camp fire for fuel

Yo dude when i first started the game i had a BIG problem with feathers, now i hav 50 arrows and 170 feathers to use And now i have 250+250+250+250+250+250+250 feathers, 417 arrows and i can make crossbow bolts and a crossbow

If your game crashes a lot of the time it goes underground, so if u can see the bike icon dig down and u should find it.
