It's a solid base and even has the mandatory machicolations for killing the odd outlier who gets stuck in rage mode. But all you do by having the pit is delaying reage mode until they come back in range. You need to make them spend some time to get into range so the timer runs out and they forget about their rage. But that's just not feasible for a starter base. The pit is a good choice for an explosives base though. There you want to make sure that the zombies can't escape and your primary way of killing is throwing explosives and mollies into the pit. Not sure whether that is still fun in A22/1.0 with the new trickle spawn mechanic though... Btw, it's always good to have more than one (switchable) zombie path and plan the base for that from the start. The second path after the melee station should be a loop, so you can repair in peace if needed.
just picked the game up a few hours ago and having a blast! Thanks for this awesome video very informative

Glad you enjoyed!
There are a couple of spots I've found where you can hang out safely on Horde nights, kill zombies with no risk up to and including day 21. That gives me ample time to outfit a proper base that will suffice well into triple digit days.
Love these tips videos. Its been a while since I played so the tips will definitely help out a damsel in distress 🤣

Its definitely clever, however I can't stand free-floating blocks. I know it's just a video game, but I don't like the unimersive look of free floating blocks.

😂 kind of but it depend what imersion u looking for. I personally prefer classic thing but avatar floating islands could be fun

Just place the plate on the side of a block instead of leaving an empty block gap. Zombies will try to run through that smaller gap and fall in 99% of the time. I made a moat using this tactic and they all fall into water xD
These ‘floating block’ builds, break emersion for me

its a video game about crafting and zombies and you're worried about immersion. XD

You can use center pole on edge and make a solid beam for them to path on if you prefer. Most of them will still fall when they crowd up. I run a second one across underneath the first to prevent the path from being broken.
i went 15 lol but im over kill but that is 12 ground lvl with a pit with and exit back to the stair area lol however my buddy was watching my first horde night .. simple 5x5 but i forgot and had hatches to get in and out.. worked great till the floor hatch broke.. i was able to get out then up and shoot down i had no clue horde night lasts "all night" now and not a set number of waves lol but i did it!!! haha i do like the base design for early starts
The distance from player to not cause "Destroy Area" mode may have been increased to 16 or 17.

Haven't experienced that in the test I showed in the video? Zombies stopped destroying area mode when they fell into my pit.
Already far to big/elaborate for the very first horde night... Just build a ramp up like 13 blocks or so, then have a little path with maybe some dropper blocks in it and then your little "bunker" area (which just needs to be a small box) and you're done with it. Far simpler than what you created there, especially far simpler than digging a far to big pit. Your pit also has the problem that it can't deal with dogs. They will start destroying the ground.

make your own fucking video kid
Hordes now last until 4AM Reach, have you tested this in actual game play? Not to mention having to scramble resources and run missions so you can progress?

I have done this exact same base in wood, and I built it within 4 hours of Ingame hours before horde night.
Pretty good starter 😊

I got a few more to show !
Just seeing how many cobble you need, new players won´t be able to do this. It´s been a long time since i was new, but i know thee is no way i could have that much cobblestone on day 7. Propably most newbies will still struggle with that on day 14

Can use wood. Works the same

@@ReachGaming I wish you had made that clear in the video. I saw this base and was immediately like "that's too much for the first seven days. No way in hell I could get that many resources."
How tf you get enough cobblestone or brick or whatever by day 7 to build that much? I would barely have enough to make maybe the staircase.

You can use wood it works just fine with wood also
Reach, it's not 11 blocks anymore, it's 13.

Should be 11-12 I used 12 in the video and it worked.
How late into the game can this base hold me for?

Until you get cops, so at least 21 hours(game days) maybe longer if you slowly advance gamestage

@@stevdor6146 How could I go about enforcing for cops and what not? I was going to just start adding traps
@djbigq1
Күн бұрын
@TheAntfats I would say adding electric fence traps along with a few blade traps at bottom then put dart traps for as soon as they come out the pit they trigger the darts. Then at the top setup some smg turrets on each side. I would do this while reinforcing the pit with steel blocks but use concrete first then upgrade to steel and so forth. After that add some shotgun turrets at top of building and point to sky for birds or whatever you have flying in your game. That's how you fortify my friend, also don't forget to fortify those beams the zombies run across that way they are more secure.
Too much digging without cheat. My first base was reinforce house, multi fallback entrance, worked fine.

Don't dig just build 12 blocks high. No digging required
lots of stone for day 7

I did a base exactly like this within 4 ingame hours before horde night
No way would you build something that big for your First horde base. you woudn't be able to get those materials together.
@ReachGaming
4 күн бұрын
Well, if I can do it, you can. I can build this build within 3-4 hours in-game before horde night, it's not hard at all, I wouldn't have done a video like this if it was hard, besides the idea of the base is what I am trying to show not the size of the base. You also don't even need to use cobble it can be done with wood also

LOL wtf?! Who the heck would waste time building a base from scratch for the 1st 2 horde nights? a cobblestone reinforced small T1-2 poi is simply better at this point of the game! XD 0:35 Also really? early? That's like 500 cobblestone blocks! XD Farming all this shit with low tier stone tools is not what I call an intelligent move rofl!!

i never build bases like this. I like to simulate real life scenarios like reinforcing a house, base, hospital, etc. I find these bases boring and unrealistic

Me too. I want to feel like I’m surviving in a apocalypse. It adds a funnier ton to the game. Finding those underground bunkers are great tho

Me too however the zombies seem to all have sledge hammers for hands and structural engineering degrees so i tend to mix underground bunker with a bridge/jump section that utilizes something similar otherwise the zombies seem to to have enough sense not only to not fall but to not push their fellow zombies over the edge.

I think we should all play the game now we want to play it. There's a reason why there's an on/off setting for zombies.
The most pathetic way to play this game, how weak you could be to build a base like this? Play without glitch the AI noob
