Hey glock. Just a reminder that you do less damage to blocks and zombies the lower your stamina is and the lower the durability is on your weapon in this alpha.

The best part of this episode has to be you pushing off dead bodies from the catwalk. lol
*YEEESSSS!!* A15 Episode 4 🙌🏻🔥 God, the nostalgia is real af tho. 😩💔 I've played Console version since 2016 to 2021 and I'm over 10,000 to 15,000+ hours on it and i was so surprised when you showed the trick about collapsing the Gun safe, shieeet and here i thought i knew everything guess there's something new every time in that alpha. I may even play it a bit after this video 😂❤

One and a half years of slaying zombies!
There is loot under the steps in the pit of that pass and gas, sometimes its trash, sometimes its a secret stash!
Hey glock, found a new overhaul that would be cool if you brought some attention to it. It's called Afterlife, the only place I've seen it is in the 7d2d mod launcher but it's a massive overhaul.. it removes traditional levels and makes EVERYTHING an action skill, it has a ton of custom blocks and workstations, a new hud, vitality system, even a combination slot and weight system (similar to undead legacy). It also removes the time (requires a watch like darkness falls), removes the map (has a special slot for a torch, backpack and the map that you have to craft). I've been enjoying it, it's pretty challenging. Also when you start you have a few classes to choose from that really change the gameplay (i chose the sheriff class.. you start with a pistol and baton and your perks are able to easily get into cop cars as well as find 9mm in places you normally shouldn't. But there's several, each with unique skills and starting gear. It's pretty new and so far I haven't really seen any of the big streamers try it yet

@GothicHellhound might consider adding a mod for crafting time if that is too much.. it was my biggest complaint so I added a mod to reduce crafting time.. it's pretty tough, a lot to learn
only a few small things of A15 that I missed like the progressive leveling minor skills like when using an item it makes using that type of item/weapon better lol but a lot of the benefits of the newer perks that the newer versions of 7days is still nice and wouldn't want to really change it. :)

Good old Alpha. I remember always looking for the Bunker PIO in random gen. The small one with the little yard and the shed infront. It used to have working lights, which you could not replicate so I carfully upgraded the blocks and made it a small tower. Turned the scrap fence into a wall and used the yard for a garden. It was the perfect size for just about everything and a pretty cool style of POI for your zombie survival. You also were not able to make your own furniture really, so the kitchen was precious.
The best bases is this alpha were pits with log spikes upside down as the floor and the 1/2 concrete poles as walls. It helped to allow the zombies to group up better, you can loot the corpses as you kill them, and they can't move through the gaps. Their pathfinding was so basic that they basically just moved towards your position despite your elevation and if there was a path up to you.

I think I used to do a 6x6 pit and then built my house over the pit with a bar floor and then a floor above that with all my stuff.
Wherever they die is where the bag of meat spawns. Even if the main body rolls away.

This game has certainly come a long way !
Random maps are definitely more fun on console, but it’s sometimes hard to find good towns, and sometimes there us way too much water. But the random caves and such are hecka fun. And just like Skinny Pete there, if you let your guard down for a minite, you are toast. Especially with the dog hordes. 😁😁☠️☠️
That panicked “shiiiit” when that zombie took a few shots and kept coming was great
I sometimes look back at A15 and 16 with rose colored glasses. Had a couple of very memorable playthroughs but watching you play this reminds me of how empty the game used to be and how far it has come in the last decade. No trader quests leaving you to just raid POI after POI really leaves a ton of "space" in the game.

i think the game was better for it's simplicity. i have been the most scared and subsequently had the most fun replaying alpha 15. Nightmare sprinting night hordes, action skills, etc. seriously a differeny game that i like better than a21 atm. always hated trader quests cause they 1. reset the POI and 2. makes replaying the game feel like a funneled grind instead of an open ended adventure when you've completed the same quests a hundred times.

@@dwaynejohnson4085 I'm glad we have the option to play the version we like (on pc anyway). I went back and tried to an A16 playthrough about a year ago. I enjoyed it quite a lot, although I only played to about day 25 or so.
Make sure you harvest the zombie remains for animal fat because they dont despawn and that will take a toll on your frames in the long run
Speaking of nostalgia, would be nice to see you fight a horde on all the other alphas until the 1.1 launches! One of my favorite features of one the older alphas was being able to build on trees and having tree house bases lol Also feeling really nostalgic about your “real world” builds that you used to fight hordes in.
Was Dog Day on day 5 still a thing in A15?

Hey Glock, you can craft a pirate shotgun in case u don't wanna wait to get all parts or buy one. Aka the blunderbuss. Also the ammo doesn't need to crafted at a bench. You can make it by hand.
I used to build 50 percent center round columns for walls. They cant get through and you can hit them with the club, loot and shoot through the pillers. they still tend to pile up to the side you stand in. then you have 365 fighting positions.
Started a new run on console last night. Found the minibike book, in a random car, before noon on day 1. 🙂
One of the last hordes i faced on console, playing with my stepson, i spent the first week buildingbuilding(bank base). Stepson was looting. Big, elaborate base. Very proud of all that hard work ... TWO zombies show up. *Sigh*
In this version you can put the log spikes upside down , then the zombies run over the spikes as they run over the bloks, but having damage from thr spikes
Save the Shopping Basket it goes on the Mini Bike for storage

Those sandwiches are the cornmeal of that alpha
Yeah you could have put 8 wooden frames around a tall tree and been good to go
I believe there's a limit on how.many zombies Spawn in during horde night that's why when you kill a crawler another runner spawns in. I love playing alpha 15 and setting the difficulty to it's max.
One of my favorite things to do was at a 4 corers I’d attach all the buildings with a wall and use each one for something different “crafting, smelting, farming etc”
Unless playing multi-player then if not the host the lag causes zombies to hit your farther away.In that case you run past them as they swing you're behind them
the football stadium would be fun it would take a lot of grinding but making it into a small town would be nice to see
Used to play on console, I find even late game hoards gets boring. We would set it to “zombies run day/night” just to fight the boredom. Also, love the signed postcard & stickers 😊
I love the fact that you can just put a few fences up and fight hoards, no need for an elaborate base.
I've always made a fight base with a tree in each corner. Slope block and post block. Slope first for 5 or 6 blocks. Then a tree. Repeat. Once that is done I put the post block on top of the Slope blocks and keep going around until done.
Don't use bars, use scrap iron gates. They work the same way, you can see and shoot through them, but they are cheaper and crafted from your inventory instead of the furnace. And no, you don't fall through the hole, I was worried about that too.
4:52 That other lockers below could also be looted. Im convinced that sandwiches are the Alpha 15 cornmeal. Lol
When Skinny Pete attacked and all I saw was the black screen I thought you really died for a second there. 🤣 Next time you should replace the missing frames with a crude stick drawing of the missing action
Hey Glock there are secret stashes underneath the wooden stairs in the pit of the gas station. There can be anything from garbage to crates. Always worth a look
Back where it all began, not sure if someone has mentioned but you even think of a “Do It Yourself” type challenge where you have to craft everything you need you could still search buildings for loot but with a catch. I figure consumables are fair game and anything else found must be scrapped for its core resources or sold for cash. Not sure how viable it would be but you always make amazing content Glock!
Check beneath the stairs in the pit at the gas station. Sometimes, crates are hidden there
The zombies don’t really have a path of least resistance that I’m aware of like they do on pc so they’ll just beat in whatever your standing on
Spider zombies were interesting to deal with when they'd climb walls. Easy to counter but a surprise when they released
A single iron hatch in a doorway with surrounding blocks upgraded a bit is my go-to for the first 2 or 3 hordes on console. It has never failed me
You can use a wooden fence and the zombies will never attack it. You can just make a box and stand in the middle
17:54 - Couldn't sneak up on you? That "oh sh*t" was you staining your underwear.
I honestly hope you decide to try out the Aircraft Carrier challenge. It's right up your alley for chaos and is similar to trapped inside.
@Glock9 watch out in later hordes, zombies will build a corpse pile to get to you about horde 28 or 35, depending on settings. Like in World War Z it gets real interesting also when cops show up. I still love some of the game play from this alpha and mechanics also.
Your videos always make my day. I love the fact your playing a version that is similar to console cup i play on ps4 just sad i won't be able to play the new version. But this game brings back a lot of memorys from playing with my friends.
I think this was when I first came into th game, made a base and then bounced away until the pandemic after they had made some big improvements and did the more dungeon style POIs. It's amazing ths is what console players have been dealing with.
i decided to do my own little playthrough of a15 after watching episode 1, night seven got caught with my pants down decided to spend the horde in the middle of a lake. one thing very few mention about the earlier alphas nowadays is how extremely overpowered water bases were. given in a15 they can still break shit underwater but for night 7 its practically flying in regards to their mechanics. also noticed you're in navezgane in this playthrough, the desert has a few good poi's to get around to that'll definitely help you out right off the bat. pop n' pills has a chem station, and theres an iron mine not too far from the trader that has a workbench. theres also a car lot that has a workbench in the garage too, and idk if you remember this i just found it out myself going back to it but you can get maxed out tools fairly early if you use the combining feature in the workbench. i also queue up the simple stuff like stone axes and wooden clubs when im not crafting anything for some passive crafting leveling on the tools and weapons. day 11 rn and with that method im crafting lvl 200-250 on all my weapons and tools
@unclecuddles5232
23 күн бұрын
While I do like the combining feature of the workbench I like using it to power level more. It's a pain and a grind but if you collect a crap ton of wood like 2 stacks of 6000 at least you could make 120 wood spikes and since it crafts in stacks you can just leave your controller down for passive misc crafting exp. It's expensive but wood spikes will level you up very easily. For weapons crafting same strat only you have to continue to drop your clubs (only wood) or you fill up way too fast to get decent leveling off it. At later stages in the game I sometimes can't even drop them fast enough to keep my inventory from filling up like after you put levels in faster crafting. If I can get my hands on a workbench day one I'll have like 300-350 weapon level in the first 3 days or so.
I got almost $7,000 hours on console. I can't wait to see you try to build a hatch hallway on the ground. You must have forgotten that this alpha the zombies go towards you. They're not smart zombies they're dumb they'll just beat through whatever until they get to you. So the hatch hallway won't work on the ground they'll just beat through the wall till they get to you. Just be glad some of the zombies came up the steps to get to you instead of just beating on the pillar under you to drop you.
Between the lighting and the ground graphics it looked like cheetah print on the screen.
If you use a knife on burnt zombie get chard meat also if you stab something In the traders then kill a zombie with knife that item will be in there inventory
I’m ready for ya to get into diersville for the dogs
If memory serves me right I think there is a hidden stash box under the steps in the garage pit circa 4:30
Beat the corpses with the club!!!! You get xp to level up your club perk!!!
Was thinking Skinny Pete was the Darkness Bringer.
I really don't miss alpha 15 heh. Though I only started playing with alpha 14 I think. Nice videos though, you can see that nostalgia is garbage, in the past things WEREN'T BETTER! :D Also.....the corpse cleaning after a horde night always took hours....
21: no no no that black screen was cuz skinny pete scared the crap of your software
pistols look so much better in this alpha than the current. The front iron isn't huge and it sounds better
I started 7 days to die with A16 and sometimes I miss it and trying to play it again but after a few hours getting bored, then I change it to the newest version again😂
The old sandwiches are the Alpha 15 cornmeal!
Wow, 16 was such an INSANE level of improvement over 15. I started in 16 and had no idea how big the difference is. I probably would have walked away from the game and never touched it again if I had tried 15 out first.
yeah back in A15 when zoms died thier corpses teleport back to where they were killed no matter how far they fall or roll away.
im pretty sure the nostaglia isnt working that great because this actually was one of the last update for the base of the game, they set up a base of what 7 days is about. but it was really empty still so this version hasnt had any quality of life updates cuz those were added from this point onwards. i think if you were to play lets say alpha 18 or something you still get some nostalgia whilst playing a game that isnt kind of broken :P
The gore blocks keep appearing on the catwalk because in alpha 15 wherever the zombie dies is where the gore block appears. So all the kicking of the dead bodies off the catwalk you did for nothing because the gore block is just going to reappear on the catwalk where the zombie died.
Starting to sound like a grumpy grandpa reminding us all about the past and old sham sandwiches
Hey “Glock,” I don’t know if you know this but the Fun Pimps are releasing 1.0 soon for PC & then for consoles a little bit after that. It would be cool if you did a comparison series beforehand of what console players have been playing vs the big changes they can look forward to once 1.0 is out, since I think they’ve been stuck somewhere around A15 for something like years.
The cat walk is a bit to long long on console even a on eblock catwalk isnt efficient but is better than a long one. The zombs will still target the foundation more often than the fighting area... I use a staircase 3 to 4 high on block the the fighting area with both floor spikes and spike fences surrounding the base.. The rotting corpes can mess up the stairs so put hatches to stop this
Sandwich is the new cornmeal in this alpha.
You have enough consumed food to slowly heal.
If i remember correctly the metal armor is like the best for the desert
Oh how I miss the old ways of this game!! I love the building and crafting the way the levels of things matter for how good your weapons and vehicles are and I really miss the way we level up! Great video 👍!!
I wonder what your reaction to an "old cornmeal sandwich" would be
I've noticed you're still checking your corners.
The hordes were slightly less predictable back then too, but they get more hectic the later on it goes. I did this with my console version, just booting up an old save that's already 30 days in, and the horde took out my entire horde base relentlessly.
@unclecuddles5232
23 күн бұрын
I found that in console the best horde base is a simple one. I tend to fortify my home base to be able to stand a horde attack, but lately I have been opting for a dedicated horde base after the 1st 2 hordes or so. For the home I usually start with a giant 2 block high cobblestone wall surrounding the base then by the 2nd horde maybe upgrade to concrete walls add another 2 blocks high on the wall with bars surrounding the base to prevent anything from climbing over. Spider monkeys can definitely climb walls for some reason and even though it doesn't happen every time it happens enough to warrant the costly bars imo.
@thenarrator9204

@unclecuddles5232 I've never built my own place in console. Always convert farmhouse or other house to a horde base. Yes! Simple is better and fences are pretty broken... they get so stuck on them it becomes a perimeter horde.
You've probably covered this previously, but I'm relatively new to your account. Could you vendor some of the things you want to keep, run to your new town, and do a buy back that way you have more "storage"?
@methodsocratic
23 күн бұрын
A simpler solution is, you can just build storage almost anywhere in the world, drop stuff off & revisit to get it again forever. Welcome to 7DtD lol it’s one of the best sandbox games out there.
can really see how far this game has come lol
Hey glock. I know what the hordes look like in this alpha. And they really do suck. Like looking into the xml’s they are so underwhelming. But if you want I could edit them to make them a bit bigger potentially, and a lot more chaotic
If Glock hadn''t said anything about the black screen, I would have just assumed it was a stylistic choice, showing how close he was to death in that moment.
see glock is putting all those cans to use 😅
I used to play alpha 15 after playing 21 this is kind of hard to watch lol I miss the dupe glitch though lol
That black screen was pretty well place all things considered maybe some minor video corruption should happen more often if this is the result.
I for one am pleased how the game has evolved, cant fault it ,,
I am here again to ask for Neebs X Glock Helldivers episode! You cant ignore me forever!!
Great content ! Will you be doing any PROJECT zomboid content in the future? 💯
Good stuff
Just an fyi..... Storage boxes have the same storage as Ammo boxes without the need of nails.
I do miss the upgrade progression when building blocks and lbd. They dumbed it down too much, along with a lot of other features. One retro game that's still pretty fun is Freelancer, it's free at abandonware.
Console hordes are lame, the zombies aren't particularly intelligent and just their default run speed can give them trouble navigating anything even remotely elaborate. In my experience adding verticality to a base whether you build up or down is always more confusing for the zombies and may make them behave strangely. It's best to just make something ground level with hatches like you talked about but you do have to be careful because crawling zombies can sometimes crawl over hatches and same with dogs. They can go through single block openings and that usually happens when bodies pile up and they have something to step on. You actually gave me an idea though that I may implement in my own game. Since hatches destroy bodies you could build many hatches to leave down on the ground and that should make it so they never pile up but losing the loot does suck so maybe just anywhere close to openings in the base idk yet. Also console hordes almost never end. There will always (usually) be 2 zombies that will continue to spawn throughout the rest of the night no matter how many you kill. The most effective base I've made usually is just a giant steel block with concrete ground surrounding it, bars on all the sides, only one entrance maybe 3 hatches wide, and I like to have a ladder in the back that goes to the outside to be able to get on the bars. If you plan on ever using explosives you'll want to build your top layer at least 5 blocks high and preferably not be setting them off directly under you. I tried mines but if you aren't careful they will 100% fk you up. I've died to mines more than anything else on console. Oh speaking of mines I almost never set any other kind of trap like spikes or barbed wire because it usually doesn't kill, and makes a lot of them crawlers. It's more for show than being useful. Oh one last thing, zombies can faze through your hatches especially when there are lots piled up. It's like they get pushed through the blocks and has jump scared me a few times.
I think they should have made level progression the way project zomboid did it. Eating books increases how quickly you level a skill, but ultimately, using the skill made you better at that skill over time.
Yes feel the pain. Almost here 🎉🎉🎉
I miss the guns having parts and quality same with vehicle parts wish they had kept that feature
Please make a “fuck that sandwich” shirt!!! 😂😂😂
