7 Common Beliefs that are Keeping You Stuck in Life

We all have subconscious beliefs that are getting in our way, holding us back and keeping us stuck. These beliefs can often seem like they are true and can lead to self-sabotaging choices and behaviours that keep us stuck. Here I talk about 7 common ones, and how to overcome them so you can feel more calm, confident and more in charge of your mind, emotions and your life.

for me that's easy, your past defines you. For the past 31 years one event has defined me, nine years old and watching my adopted mom die right in front of me and nothing i did saved her. As a punishment for me failing to save her, i get to watch her die every night in my sleep. I've watched her die over 12,000 times. That event got compounded up to the age of thirteen. I buried my adopted mom, dad, grandad, brother and uncle by thirteen years old. I was by myself before i started high school. Found my bio mom and learned that if it wasn't for her mom and dad i would of been aborted, just to add to my already f'd up life.

    1. Keep yourself small to keep other people comfortable 2. Your happiness is dependent on others 3. Other people happiness is dependent on you 4. Your past defines you 5. You need to be happy and positive all the time 6. That being uncomfortable is bad 7. Is the idea that you have to have certainty in order to proceed

One of the beliefs that keep me stuck is that every new decision that i have to take is going to be absolutely decisive and definitive of my life ahead and that if i do take the wrong decision i will never be able to repair the damages. Loved the video, really nice insight and very humane 🙏🏻

Nothing sticks me to the ground anymore. I'm healed from the past and the abuse I got through. Since long I used to feel like a crap and drag a lot of bad thoughts, suicide ones. The world is a place where It's not easy to navigate in and if you are not strong enough to overcome all this violence, this sham, this swindle that the society is made of, It's the end for you. It's essential to be vigilant towards our thoughts and step back to observe them without necessarily lashing ourselves but rather trying to analyse them deeply and do the spiritual work. It is suffering, It takes time but It's worth. I'm not sure that everybody can do what It wants tbh because there's a lot of people who fail and don't reach their goal but It's worth trying because our journey on earth is a test, a human experience that will end one day or another and there's no sense sometimes regarding the events, the situations that can be absurd, perhaps cruel. That's why to me , being detached of everything is the key to live more free. Nothing is at stake, time doesn't really exist , things happen like they do, we can't force anything nor rig anyone in our favor. That doesn't work like this. The more I get old the more I feel that we live our personal destiny in a way that is already created ipartly, meaning the main lines. We don't make a choice, It's the choice that choises us. Finally, that enables to calm down our frazzled minds. Best regards from France

One of the reasons I love my job is because I can wake up feeling like crap, go to work, and fake a smile but it doesn't take long before I have like 20 coworkers coming up to me like, "What's up? Your not yourself today. What's going on?" And no matter how many times I say, "Nothing" or "Just an off day" they will insist on digging the truth out of me and then offer to help or listen or whatever I may need to get back to my usual energetic and talkative self they all know. A pretty smart lady once said, "We are not our thoughts, We are the thinker of our thoughts!"

Incrementalism. "Twenty lines a day, genius or not." -Stendahl. Twenty lines in Courier 12pt equals one page of typed print. One page per day, times 365 days equals 365 pages written. (1 page/day)x(365 day) = 365 pages. Tell your inner critic to buzz off!

For me the biggest one was the uncertainty. Not knowing the outcome is one that I have the most focus on. And I think that all if the mental energy that is put into trying to be certain keeps things from just flowing as they are going to flow anyway. Most times we really aren't really realizing that things are going to happen as they are because they just have to everything has a purpose. And the lesson is that this is the purpose this is the reason this life we have been given today just that uncertainties of ever unfolding bliss. Because honestly in the end it's all working out. We have our ups and downs and moments were we really really want somethings and they work out and some dont yet everything that we really need is right infront of us in the first place anyway.

Hi, My name is Hammad. I found your KZread channel when it was quite new. I am so glad that I subscribed it and got a lot of help on different topics. Extremely grateful for what you are doing in your corner on the internet. I am suffering from anxiety from the past many years. But the main issue I have is sleeplessness (insomnia) which has been there for the past 13 years. The issue reached highest point when I was sixteen years old and more or less has been still that way at 29 years of age. I have been following your channel for a quite a while but this the first time I am writing a comment. I would love to write in detail to you so I can get more appropriate help. I am from third world country namely Pakistan. Cultural differences, brought up, religion & beliefs etc all that of the Eastern world. I hope I can get some help for what I am facing right now. Thank you for such a great message! I got a lot out of this! ❤️ I write books and I love doing it, but being in that world I’ve heard of authors who use programs that puts their speech into a document to write their books. And since you love to talk more than writing, this might be an easier way to get your first draft down. First drafts are nothing but brain dumps anyway, so you could talk it out. It popped into my head after I heard that part of the video and just thought I’d share. ❤️

Julia, this is incredible content and thank you truly for sharing your talent, wisdom and energy with us! I have one question. It makes sense that we define ourselves with our thoughts, since thoughts lead to action, and actions lead to our daily reality, but then how come there’s the school of thought that “you are not your thoughts”? Some people say our thoughts don’t define us, and I understand that in a sense, but at the same time our thoughts define how we experience reality. It’s a little confusing. Would be interested to hear your perspective on this.

I think so many of my limiting beliefs came from my dopey parents always telling me that I couldn't do anything right. Deep down, I know it's not true. (I was very good in school and probably should have been able to have done anything with my life (doctor, lawyer, etc.) But they so completely screwed me up in every possible way that I know they were flat-out wrong, but I still can't get unstuck. In fact, it brings me way out of my comfort zone to admit that they were wrong about a whole bunch of stuff. It would be far easier if they had been right about everything and I truly was just a screw-up. I guess ultimately it's easier to know they were wrong than to pick up the pieces and do something about it???

So my issue is I keep finding myself on repeat. I make the quick choices for what has been painted as a much better opportunity but I do this and end up in the exact same situation just now at a new job a new time in my life and then so how do I do both jump with faith and live in the uncomfortable and maybe make a choice based in a little more certainty cause now I’m stuck arguing myself with every time I’ve made a move it has never worked and I’ve started from the bottom to many times that my trap is now needing certainty and I’m scared to make any moves

hey there. Your work has been of great assistance to me, and I have been sharing it with a close friend as well. Would you be ok with me emailing you a situation I am in, that other will be able to relate to, and seeing if it would be something you'd like to make a video on? It has to do with relationships between two people who have recently left traumatic experiences.

Hi I am stuck! Why do I feel as though I am not really wanted by anyone as a friend. Why does family reject me as a Mother after much nurturing etc during very difficult times. .Is it them that are not right and has problems or me. I do feel as thought I have failed in everyway, but then I know that I am enough I an human. One thing I cannot cope with is deceit and lies. This is all I get from family all the time. I am really trying to find a solution here.

Hi, Julia . how are you ? . Hope you’re doing great and I just want a bit of counseling or can say a help from you regarding an issue I’ve had developed probably a month ago and now the couple of weeks ago it’s like stuck in my mind and now I kinda feel it and having anxiety of being bullied in the past for like consistently of 3-4 years when I was a kid . Never had these flashbacks before but now I’m having anxiety and social anxiety because of it . Like I was picked up by a stranger who bullied me in the primary school, and few of the times some troubled minded boys bullied . And anything about it would really love to . If you give something about it would be really thankful and helpful . Please have a look at this comment 👀 . Thanks ❤️❤️

I have been working very hard for a while to convert my negative thoughts into neutral or positive ones and it works relatively well. Now what if a negative thought or situation is really negative and I have to take action to stand up for myself or anything like that and it would be normal to worry about it even without anxiety disorder. I'm afraid to be naive, to be someone who puts up with everything and all of my thoughts to relate to the anxiety disorder. I feel as if I am no longer able to objectively evaluate thoughts or situations without my anxiety disorder. Any Help ?
