@@coleandmarmalade I thought I sensed a rescue/foster fail in a recent video. As I wrote years ago to the Katnip Lounge poster, I could not imagine how she cared for them all, but I never doubted that she loved them all. We have stopped at two. It almost broke my heart to take a young adult lynx tabby I found in my garage to a shelter after I determined that she did not have a loving family to return to. But I didn't have time to try socializing her with my sibling pair (family member a few hours away needed frequent visitation). I visited her later and learned that she would not settle in with the other cats, but she liked being around people and dogs at the shelter. She lived in the lobby area and cuddle-nursed with any dog resting there during illness or post-surgical. She got herself adopted in short order.

@@coleandmarmalade Waiting for the day Juicy will let me blow bubbles on her belly! She's just started to roll on her back, belly up when waking/stretching and I get a stroke or two in before she rolls back over. She was a stray we brought in 2.5 years ago, and she's still quite skittish, but starting to relax a little more as we go. I suspect she had some trauma at her former house especially from a big man as she always runs from husband even if he has food for her. She's totally my cat as I started feeding her when she'd come into our backyard, and sleeps with me. But she'll run from me, too. I keep telling her she needs to get over her frights, and I hope someday she will. Mickey's got hot spots these days. Started again around July and he just can't help licking, chewing, biting, pulling his fur. Went to the vet, got a steroid shot, but it didn't really do anything to help alleviate this. Does ANYONE know what causes this and what natural remedy we could try - we've tried several things to no avail. This happened last year, too, and once before that but years ago, so we can't figure out what's causing him to do this to himself. Poor guy. He looks a bit like Marmalade, too, being a ginger, and he's about 17.5 years old now. Wonderful video, Chris! So good and sweet to see Angel Cole there, too. He's still with Us and part of the CAMFam! Coming up on a year, and I'm expecting a very difficult month which started yesterday for me. My Angel Shane transitioned to the Rainbow Bridge on the 12th, 2 days after Angel Cole, twins from different moms. I miss my Shaney soooooo much, and miss Angel Cole, too, though there still always with Us. But I know You understand what I mean.

I recently returned from a fire evacuation. I was gone 6 days and did not find one of my cats until the 7th day, very hard, as the fire came within 30 paces, and much smoke, (Thank you first responders 🙏🐾💙.) A day or two after we were all back, Tabi, our shyest cat, the one who stayed and survived uninjured, lay across the front doorway outside with his belly up, completely relaxed, sleeping. This is so rare for him, you are exactly right about him ‘feeling totally secure in his territory’. 🐾🌿🕊 Grateful grateful. P.S. Your music is perfect 😎.

My heart is always warmed seeing footage of Beautiful & Sweet Cole. We ALL miss him, so memories of him are very welcome! Looks like Bond is settling in nicely with the rest of the fam! I hope to see more regular video's of all the kitties. I don't know what it is about Marm's face, but he just gets me Every time! Marm in the crock pot, in the video, is just Totally Him!😆 As they say, "if I fits, I sits!"

Love the jazzy vibe for the cool cats. It was great to see Cole again, the epitome of a cool cat. I didn't see the 'sleeping bonnet' for the ones who like to sleep on your head at night; or the other middle of the night position, the 'face hugger'.

Raven is my facehugger, especially in the morning! Eragon’s usually between my knees, and Chessie sleeps with my younger daughter. At least Raven’s not like the facehugger in “Alien!”

@@dragondancer1814 Alien came to mind when I wrote that. I really like your cats names, beautiful. Does their personality match? My two, now aging rescue ferals, Aramis and Shakespeare turned out to fit my impression. Aramis is every bit the bold dashing Musketeer always getting into something and Shakespeare grandly walks around as though he's leading a "Ye Olde Pompous Parade" that only those with gilded engraved invitations can attend.

@@aevalk8369 Their “purrsonalities” definitely match their names! Raven is my black cat, who almost got named Toothless as a kitten due to his resemblance to the dragon. The name Raven suits him, although it can give him a complex during football season! Chessie is a gray marble tabby who was named after the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad’s mascot, and she’s an absolute sweetheart. Eragon is my tuxedo cat, who got his name due to his copper eyes matching the dragon’s in the movie (this was my older daughter’s inspiration). And like I said, he’s a tuxedo-enough said right there. Videos of them are on my channel, if you want more feline entertainment!

They're a hoot!

All those sleeping kitties gave me a happy, and there is so much you can tell about a cat's feelings by the position they sleep in. I knew that our latest rescue was finally starting to trust us when she started sleeping on her back and side. 🥰 Because I knew about her life before we adopted her, and that she had no good reason to trust humans ever again, I may have cried a little the first time I looked across the living room and saw tortie-tummy.

Lol I can't get over the look Marmalade always has on his face. It's like a mix between shock, duh, and what's that!

my late cat used to purr when he slept. I sure do miss him. it was good to see Cole in this video. R.I.P. Cole and Gobi (my cat).

Seeing any bit of wonderful Cole makes me so happy. I miss him. And Bond seems to be fitting in quite well, isn't he? I'm so proud of this happy kitty home, and I'm sure angel Cole is too.❤Eager to see more shenanigans of the new little ones!!!

I miss Cole... but I found a little black kitten not long ago. I think that his siblings ended up at the shelter because they were in the lost pet area of the site for a while... four of them... all black like him and about the same age. Plus their found location was right across the street from my house. I have named him Biscuits as he is constantly making biscuits ever since he arrived. - Heidi

My cat slept with paws over her eyes, but the sun was shining and bouncing off the mirror. I was going out, but drew the curtains, at which point she woke and seemed to say (in cat language), "Thank you, the sun was in my eyes!" I had not done anything to disturb her, apart from dimming the room. Marvellous creatures, cats.

My Blue would lay just like the cat in your thumbnail, beside the radiator, on a little rag rug. I could bury my nose in her soft belly fur, and she would stretch her paws out, curl them, and fall back to sleep. Safe and happy kitty!! Love this vid, thanks so much. :)

Mine does sleep position: Ragdoll When I watch TV she curls up in my lap and her head is on my arm...and in a deep sleep her head and body go limp...like a ragdoll. BONUS: She also drools on my arm.🤣🤣

Additional ones are when a cat sleeps atop a person or another animal, lap-napping* on a human, of course, and co-napping, where the cat is napping with someone else, but not clearly treating the other party(ies) as a bed. *I count variations on lap-napping in the same category; some common example are all the human perches and nooks a kitten or smaller cat uses and the snuggle-against that some cats prefer. A previous rescue we had never became a lap cat, but her most trusting nap position was adjacent to my spouse or me if one of us was sitting or sleeping on the foot of my bed. Twice when I was bedridden for a day following minor surgery, she chose to rest and nap snuggly against my upper torso. I don't known whether she was more trusting of my temporarily debilitated state or decided I would benefit from her closeness (which I did).

I have family labels for some of the positions. The typical curled position is a kitty curl, lying on the side is "road kill", sleeping with belly visible is "doing the back stroke" or "overcome by nap", being in loaf position is "in takeoff position", "ready for takeoff", or something related to aviation.

My beautiful spoiled princess has been sleeping flat on her little back with her little legs stretched as far as they can pretty much since her first day of me rescuing her. She was born feral and her fur daddy brought her to my covered porch for some food and shelter during a thunderstorm. She was sick and had a small wound on her little hip with maggots in it. With the vets help she was on the mend in no time. She's was only 5-6 weeks old when she came here, she's now roughly 3 yrs. old and my whole world. Her name is Reba (after the Country singer) because her beautiful black fur was sun bleached red, my baby girl even had the cutest little red mow-hawk.

I loved the cute little face and whisker wriggle near the end. Sweet ❤️Cole 🐈‍⬛. Awhile after I watched this video I realized I had a Cole and Marmalade shirt on 😂.

Paw-over-face can also mean "It's too bright in this room" and they are shielding their eyes from the light.

Loved seeing Cole. Love to you and your growing kitty land.

I would add what I call "the pretzel" where they are twisted up oddly, like the head is facing right but the feet face left, or the head appears to be gone and tucked under the body entirely. My ginger cat loved to sleep in the weirdest twisted-up positions that did not look comfy at all, but they must have been! Glad you were able to capture and share all of these positions!

Had a ginger once, ' Little Bit ', Bit for short, he would ONLY sleep between my knees, so strange. Only if i tossed & turned would he move. Mom's persian/siamese mix on the other hand would sometimes sleep curled up touching the bottom of my feet. Miss them both, great memories. 😁😻😻😻

AWE COCO!! Beautiful boy ! My favorite colors are Black & then Gray & Tortoise Shell Tabbies . The cat in my profile picture (Inney)was a daughter to my black cat Mom. Her 3 other babies were gray with hints of creamy, light orange spots. They were Minnie, Miney & Moe. My loves ❤️The momma (Mimi) used to sleep like a combo of Bread Loaf , with face buried into the pillow or blanket & shielding her eyes. My Miney loved to lay on her back, exposing everything!! I would tell her " Miney you're a little Lady !! Close your legs!!"....Lol !! I would also tell her "Roll Over!" & she would roll back & forth on both sides. Each one had such different personalities. Edit: I also love white kitties !!

Some of the positions ours would sleep had mom saying ' I would never be able to move again '. I have to agree.

Came home from work on Friday to all 4 of my cats sleeping belly up by the AC glad they're comfortable lol

Just bought several cat cardboard boxes. Oh, they have all tried them out for size and all are purrfectly suitable!!! Love seeing them as cozy as can be!!!

Hi I have 18 rescue cats but one I have Freddie Mercury he was hand raised by me , he loves to get right up under my chin . I did when he was really tiny and he still does it but now instead of 400grams he is 5 kilos . But he loves his kisses and hugs my fur babies all do . My old girl I rescued 15 yrs ago with kittens she was wild but I got her around now she loves to get on my chest and put her head on my shoulder. Holly loves to get into my bed disappear under blanket. I could go on and on . They do have beds but they would rather be with us . Loved to see your gang , Cole miss you. I especially remember once they landed on my husband’s stomach when we were in bed after coming home from a wild party where he’d had about half a bottle of Triple Sec over the course of the evening. Needless to say, that didn’t end well!

some of the warmest moments been to wake up a saturday with the silken one stretched out in all its glorious 2x body length belly up between your legs not moving a muscle as you stirred just quietly purring... and either deciding it wants to go outside or get breakfast and initiates a glorious stretching and getting up display before bumping head at your cheek to leet you know it knows your awake.... or , as you get up.. yawning wide and then just reaching into the cat dimension to add another 2 inches to ther body length when stretching out further on ther back over the body warmth soaked bed cover you vacated ^^

1:48 My cat is missing the "if I fits, I sits" gene. She won't go into boxes. She'll sniff around them and look inside and paw at them (loves destroying cardboard), but won't climb in. If I hang one of her toys over the edge, she'll even walk past and yank the toy out of the box.

One of my cats loves laying down human-ish on his back and will roll around.

I didn't learn this until recently, but the loaf position is more of a "meditation" position than sleep. On their side or back means they feel happy and safe.

Years ago, my 4 boys were being loaves mushed together on the sofa when an earthquake started. They all opened their eyes for a bit then closed them and went back to snoozing. Somehow they knew it wasn't a big quake to be concerned about.

Does anyone else buy shoes just so your cat can have a nice new box with tissue paper? 😸 My cat destroys boxes so they have to be reinforced with tape to remain box-shaped. It was so sweet to see Cole in his blueberry box. 💙

Some great images here❤️ One of my sister's cats does what I call the "the hamster" - stretched out long body, but all paws close to the chest & curled over, whilst looking in the humans direction, before falling asleep.

I remember many years ago when aged about ten or eleven finding a loaf-cat (NOT ours!) dozing very comfortably on the clothes in my chest of drawers! A beautiful brown Burmese whose humans were away in the US - and I suspect that the stand-in humans weren't quite up to scratch! A friend of the family would even have liked to adopt Burmese, but his fierce Scots wife wasn't having it!

I once found my kitten asleep twisted with he back paw pulling on her top lip. Scared the life out of me😂

I've always referred to the loaf position as the "hen laying" position as if on eggs.🐾🥰💙

Loaf is great because it is almost always accompanied by what I like to call the "bat ears" that swivel backwards like radar dishes on alert! The Loaf allows maximum hopping/pouncing potential from springy hind bunny feat to attack any opponent!

Such a sweet beautiful bunch of kitties. Hope all are well.

My cats usually look like roadkill when they're sleeping. Also, my first two cats never slept on their backs with their bellies exposed but the three I'm living with now all do it all the time. Gotta love these little weirdos.

I found the answer to the question at 2:54 when I woke up this morning, 8. Snuggling their best friend. My cat Theodore had his front paws wrapped around my wrist and didn’t want to let go, and all snuggled close for warmth and comfort
