He does say good information, generally. But he at times makes mistakes. For example in this video, he makes a physical error at 1:45. Where he starts "The main reason". Yes, the BTU's in a given fill up in the morning won't change to the afternoon albeit it's expansion, but it does expand! So it follows that an afternoon fill up of 10 gallons has less BTU's then 10 gallons in the morning! (Even though when comparing that same 10 gallons in the afternoon with the little less volume the next morning, BTU's didn't change) So there he didn't know what he was talking about. I hope when he sees this he will make the correction. Regards, Peter.

Another reason to prefer manuals; I once bought a one-owner pickup...for $200. 310,000 miles and about a third of the paint on it when I got it, and 350,000 when the transmission died. Guy had kept good records of the maintenance in the manual, tune ups, oil changes, a long list of miscellaneous parts...and not one mention of ever changing the gear oil. I still felt like I got my $200 worth out of it.

My '94 Crown Vic started shuddering/jolting at cruising speed one day. I had 59,871 miles on the car. I googled '60k miles on '94 crown vic trans issues' or something to that effect.. first article I clicked on said 'if you own a 93 or 94 Crown Vic, you will be changing out the torque converter at 60,000 miles'. I removed the TC. Cut it open, and saw lots of fin erosion and other metal debris hung up in the trans filter. Bought an HD torque converter from Torco Industries out of Cali for $119 and car now has 87k on it. Haven't had an issue since.

I've actually tested the AC thing. On a 2014 Ford Focus Ti 5 door, you get 1.5 MPG less with AC on and windows rolled up. If you roll the windows all the way down, it loses that minimal 1.5 mpg and can sometimes lose up to 3 to 4 mpg due to aerodynamic drag. Modern AC compressors are indeed more economical than windows rolled down.

You're so practical and logical. The world need more of that. I can't believe some of the things I hear people say about cars.

I love Scotty’s videos. I learn something and get entertained at the same time. Plus being of Italian ancestry, I love watching Scotty wave his arms while he speaks.

About cellphones at gas stations. This was tested on Mythbusters and they proved you absolutely right. The problem was people starting to pump gas, getting back in the car during or while using a phone, then getting out again when pump shuts off, it was the static caused by getting in and out of the car that created a spark.
