There were 25 Universities in 1947. In my opinion this is the greatest contribution of the Britishers to India.

Recently I travelled railways in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, even if you pay for your seat, it may not be available for you to even sit comfortably. It stops in unnecessary places to onboard people without ticket so that TT can earn fine from them. They use up all the water and make dirt all over the place. You cannot withstand the bad smell coming from the toilets. Trains never stop on stations where one can fill water or buy food. It's an internal mafia system to sell water and shit food in the train by the workers in the train. Never ever I am going to travel this bullshit means of transportation. I dont know what is there to be proud of.
