#6 - Subrosa Malum - 11.32 - bit.ly/3sgCdyQ
The 2022 Subrosa Malum BMX Bike is built for extreme riding. Subrosa knows how to keep their finger on the pulse of what is in and the 170mm Rant Bangin' cranks, Contender 2.35" tires, and TSC Crow pivotal seat prove it. Other aftermarket components such as the 100% chromoly frame and fork, Rant Party On V2 hubs, and Subrosa Rose top load stem put doubts on strength and durability to rest allowing you to ride harder and go bigger without worry. Jump on a Subrosa Malum if the best is what you need.
#5 - Kink Switch - 11.5 - bit.ly/3vGDJKo
The 2022 Kink Switch utilizes a dialed in geometry designed for those that want a bike for technical riding. To help this style of riding, the components chosen have characteristics to help such as geometry and material used to make them. The Kink Trident fork has a 26mm offset, 1-piece steerer tube, and is constructed from 100% chromoly. The Mission Deploy freecoaster helps chain tricks together whether you are rolling forward or fakie, meaning fakie manuals just got a whole lot easier. Kink even took grinding into consideration and included 2 Mission nylon pegs. The Kink Switch slays manuals and 180's bringing more lines together in the streets and in the park.
#4 - Cult Control - 11.6 - bit.ly/3gLnW8l
The Cult 2022 Control BMX Bike is built to shred featuring a 100% chromoly frame and fully sealed bearings all around. Cult aftermarket components such as the Forged Salvation V5 Top Load stem and Cult Match rims ensure that both strength and durability are top notch. The possibilities are limitless with the Cult Control BMX Bike.
#3 - Subrosa Letum - 11.74 - bit.ly/3smshnM
Pegs? Check. Hub guards? Check. Freecoaster? Check. The 2022 Subrosa Letum BMX Bike is ready to wreck the streets right out of the box. The Rant Moonwalker II freecoaster wheel allows you to coast backwards without the need of back-pedaling letting you concentrate on the next part of the line. 100% chromoly is utilized in constructing the frame, forks, handlebars, and the cranks creating the strength needed to go big without hesitation. Factor in the Shadow, Rant, and Subrosa aftermarket components and it's pretty obvious why the Subrosa Letum is one of the hottest bikes on the market.
#2 - Cult Devotion - 11.93 - bit.ly/3gGt2Ca
The Cult 2022 Devotion BMX Bike is a top of the line model designed for pro-level riding. 100% chromoly frame, forks, bars, and cranks provide extreme strength for peace of mind that going big won't be a game ender. Hubs, headset, and bottom bracket feature fully sealed bearings for a buttery smooth, reduced maintenance ride. Even the geometry is dialed in to create the best possible experience for seasoned riders. Step up your game with the Cult Devotion BMX Bike.
#1 - Kink Whip - 13.8 - bit.ly/2Vl4dVC
The 2022 Kink Whip BMX Bike takes things to the next level with components made from chromoly and every bearing being fully sealed for pro level strength and performance. The frame, forks, handlebars, and cranks are constructed out of 100% 4130 chromoly, the same material that can be found on top level bikes. Kink didn't stop there. They also included many other parts that can be ordered as aftermarket upgrades such as the Bold stem, Hemlocks, Nexus 25 tooth sprocket, and Duran stealth pivotal seat. It's hard to believe the price when seeing everything the Kink Whip comes with.

12 year old me had a Mongoose Hoop-D that I got at Walmart in like 1998 for I think $150 when my Diamondback was stolen. If not for Mongoose I wouldn't have been able to afford another BMX bike. Mongoose holds a special place in my heart. I bent the forks and flipped over the bars at the park when I clipped my front wheel but 12 year old me was able to bend them back into shape.

Hard to fault that list. Doug's really built a great formula to break a bike down from a variety of angles for comparison. Personally, I think the Colony Premise trumps everything on that list but it's also a much more expensive bike over there in the US. Here (in Australia) a 2012 Whip costs AU$800 and while a Premise's RRP is AU$1100, you can get them as low as $680 (I paid $798), which is quite a bit cheaper than the Whip and features a far better fork and front hub. I picked up a near-new Devotion frame and stem just recently and built it up with a Wasp wheelset and the spline-drive Fiend sprocket I was going on about in Doug's live stream a week ago. Rides like a dream and is the only bike I have and won't be putting pegs on. All in all, anything from Doug's list should satisfy a mid-level rider.

However, my son likes the Letum. So I'll let him ride my Switch and if bmx is something he'd be serious about, I'll get him a Letum.

I wasn't aware that Mongoose was now a 'Walmart brand' until recently. Back in the 70's and 80's, Mongoose was one of the dopest bikes a kid could plant his ass on. I moved on to Dyno's in the later 80's but I had a lot of good memories on a Mongoose. I didn't even step foot into a Walmart until I was like 30 because we didn't have any Walmart's in NYC. Unfortunately I left all my bikes and frames in my father's garage when I moved and the son of a bitch sold them for vodka money.

After market frame and forks and 100% full pro parts package. Only street bike that I can think of can be 2nd place is the Sunday Street Sweeper. Still, I like your list for those of us on a budget.

@@motosapien2310 It's actually not as impossible as you think getting a high end complete. Instead of rushing out and buying something so so that will break, then you have to spend more and get another frame or whatever else. You end up spending more down the road. Discipline yourself and save longer and you get the EXACT bike you want. I knew a 14 year old that got a Battleship last year doing that. He mowed lawns and did other odd jobs. I am a 100% believer that there is ALWAYS a way for those that look for it. Ambition counts. I remember being a kid. My parents didn't always have extra money to buy me what I wanted. I would save birthday money, Christmas and work doing odd jobs to sometimes buy me R.C cars, video games or whatever else. So I don't it pay attention when people say, "oh I'll never be able to buy this or that". Your last comment about "being reasonable". If people were "reasonable", then the car, airplane, etc wouldn't have never existed. Think about that for a minute,
